Abstract

This study examines character education management through the Little Police Officer (Pocil) Program at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 31 Tanggul. The focus is on the program’s effectiveness in shaping the character traits of discipline, responsibility, and independence in early childhood. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used. Data collection techniques included direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. All data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s analysis model. The study found that systematic planning, implementation, and evaluation processes contributed significantly to the program’s success. Supporting factors such as school commitment and partnerships with the police, as well as inhibiting factors such as limited time and resources, were identified. Positive impacts were observed in the improvement of children’s discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and independence.

Abstract

Fine motor skills are a crucial aspect of early childhood development, particularly as a foundation for preparing pre-writing abilities. One relevant form of stimulation is cutting activities. However, children's interest in this activity tends to be low due to monotonous and less varied teaching methods. This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 3–4 years through storytelling-based cutting activities. The study adopted a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach following the spiral model proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart, conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were students of the Dewi Masyithoh II playgroup. Data were collected through observation and documentation techniques. The findings of this study indicate that cutting straight-line patterns on animal-themed paper combined with a storytelling approach could enhance children's learning motivation and fine motor skills. In addition, individualized guidance proved effective in assisting children who experienced difficulties in cutting. The percentage of children categorized as developing as expected or very well increased from 9.09% in the initial condition to 54.54% during the first cycle, and reached 81.81% during the second cycle. Thus, the storytelling-based cutting approach is proven effective in supporting the development of fine motor skills in early childhood

Abstract

This study aims to improve the queuing habits of 4–5-year-old children through habituation using visual media in the form of colorful footprints. Queuing is a form of social-emotional development that is essential to instill from an early age to foster discipline, patience, and respect for others. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were Group A-2 children at TK Al Hidayah 38. Data were collected through observation and documentation. The results showed that the consistent use of colorful footprints as visual media effectively improved children's queuing habits, both when taking stationery and submitting assignments. By the end of the cycles, there was a significant improvement in children's discipline and order during queuing. The data showed that the percentage of children categorized as "developing as expected" and "very well developed" increased from only 17.65% in the pre-cycle to 35.29% in Cycle 1 and 41.17% in Cycle 2. This increase reflects the improved achievement of learning objectives. These findings indicate that habituation using simple visual media can be an effective strategy for fostering positive social behavior in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of differentiated instruction to optimize early childhood development at PAUD Kuncup Melati. Differentiated instruction is an approach that tailors content, process, and product based on children’s readiness, interests, and learning profiles. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the application of differentiated instruction at PAUD Kuncup Melati enhances children's engagement in learning and positively impacts their cognitive, socio- emotional, and motor development. Children were observed to be more active, confident, and able to learn according to their individual characteristics. Challenges include limited teacher competencies, inadequate facilities, and parental expectations that are not aligned with differentiated practices. Therefore, ongoing teacher training and effective communication between schools and parents are essential. This study recommends differentiated instruction as an inclusive and adaptive learning strategy to support the optimal development of early childhood learners.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore in depth the influence of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) learning method on the task analysis ability of visually impaired students in the Special Education (PLB) study program at Universitas PGRI Argopuro Jember (UNIPAR). This research employed a qualitative approach through a literature review, using scientific and relevant sources as the foundation for analysis. The results of this study reveal that the TPS method has a significant impact on visually impaired students in the classroom, particularly in enhancing their activeness, improving their understanding of the subject concepts, and developing their analytical thinking skills. The TPS learning method also fosters social interaction, which provides a safe space for visually impaired students to express and develop their opinions verbally and enables them to analyze learning content more deeply. The implications of this study emphasize to educators, especially in higher education, that cooperative and reflective approaches are essential components of inclusive learning activities. Therefore, cooperative and reflective approaches are highly recommended for implementation within the theme of inclusivity.
