Abstract

increase students' intrinsic motivation in learning English and find out how students respond to the use of Quizizz in teaching English during Covid 19. The researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the research design. The researcher analyzed qualitative and quantitative data, which came from observation, questionnaires, and interviews conducted in the last cycle to know the improvement of students' intrinsic motivation and responses. This study showed that Quizizz live lessons can increase students' intrinsic motivation in learning English. This was proven by the mean score acquired from the student's intrinsic motivation inventory questionnaire, which was 3.28 in the pre-cycle. This score improved to 3.63 in cycle 1 and even higher in cycle 2, which is 4.60. The qualitative data, based on finding the students' responses to Quizzes, showed that most students were interested in and enjoyed learning English through the Quizziz platform Quizziz platform is improving students' intrinsic motivation in learning English online classes in the Pandemic Era.

Abstract

Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pelaksanaan strategi metekognitif dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris. Perlunya strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa khususnya berbahasa Inggris menggunakan strategi pembelajaran metakognitif. Teori strategi metakognitif berdasarkan O'Malley dan Chamot (1990: 46) sebagai landasan teori. Pelaksanaan strategi metakognitif menerapkan tiga tahapan yaitu: 1) Perencanaan diri, 2) Pemantauan diri, dan 3) Evaluasi diri. Tahapan-tahapan tersebut dilakukan dengan menciptakan hubungan yang menyenangkan dengan siswa. Siswa sangat termotivasi dengan proses pembelajaran dengan menunjukkan semangat, prestasi, kesadaran dan kemandirian dalam belajar khususnya pada ketrampilan berbicara. Pada akhirnya siswa menggunakan strategi tertentu untuk menangani kesulitan yang dihadapi dalam kelas speaking. Abstract

Abstrak: Pandemi covid-19 memiliki dampak dalam proses peningkatan kinerja guru. Guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Kabupaten Bojonegoro terkena dampak. Segala bentuk kegiatan pelatihan, workshop, serta MGMP terpaksa dihentikan selama masa pandemi covid-19. Sedangkan guru dalam meningkatkan kompetensi harus melaksanakan Pengembangan Keprofesian Berkelanjutan (PKB) melalui publikasi ilmiah. Tujuan umum PKB adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan pendidikan di sekolah dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Guru masih tergolong rendah dan kegiatan work from home (WFH) menjadi sebuah hambatan dalam guru mengembangkan kompetensi sehingga diperlukan pelatihan untk meningkatkan kompetensi profeisonal guru. Materi yang diberikan pada pelatihan publikasi ilmiah di arahkan pada penelitian praktis penulisan dengan menggunakan model project based learning. Metode penelitian dengan membandingkan hasil pretest dan posttest peserta dalam membuat karya ilmiah berdasarkan standar APA. Partisipan berjumlah 40 orang guru dengan masa kerja minimal 10 tahun. Pelatihan online project based learning pada penelitian ini dilakasnakan selama 3 bulan. Hasil dari pelatihan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dilihat melalui hasil statistik dari nilai post-test yang lebih baik dari pre-test. Kemampuan guru dalam menulis karya ilmiah telah mengalami peningkatan sehingga diperlukan untuk mempertahakan agar kualitas guru dalam menulis karya ilmiah dapat meningkat menjadi lebih baik.Kata Kunci: Penilaian Daring, Project Based Learning, Kompetensi BerkelanjutanAbstract: The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact in the process of improving teacher performance. Indonesian teachers in Bojonegoro Regency were affected. All forms of training activities, workshops, and Subject Teacher Deliberation had to be stopped during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, teachers in increasing competence must carry out Sustainable Professional Development through scientific publications. The general objective of Sustainable Professional Development is to improve the quality of education services in schools in order to improve the quality of education. Teachers are still classified as low and work from home (WFH) activities become an obstacle for teachers to develop competence. So, that training is needed to improve teacher professional competence. The material provided in scientific publication training is directed at practical research in writing using a project-based learning model. The results of the training have a significant effect seen through the statistical results of the post-test scores that are better than the pre-test. The ability of teachers in writing scientific papers has increased so it is necessary to maintain the quality of teachers in writing scientific papers to be better.Keywords: Online Assessments, Project Based Learning, During the Pandemic

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the learning method of Team Games Tournament (TGT), which was to improve the writing ability of eighth grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya through the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning method in the teaching of procedures text. The researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the research design which was conducted in two cycles, with success indicators including at least 82% of students achieving scores above the Minimum Mastery Criteria of 75 and classes must have an average score of at least 80. The data collection techniques included observation, written tests, and documentation, while data was analyzed using descriptive quantitative. The results showed that the TGT method significantly improved students’ writing ability, as seen from the increase in average scores from 65 (pre-cycle) to 75 (cycle I) and 81 (cycle II), along with an increase in student achievement from 55.25% to 70.75% and finally 85.5%. This success was also supported by the modification of the tournament system from a competitive buzzer-style to a turn-based approach, which fostered a more equitable, participatory, and conducive learning environment. Thus, the TGT method applied adaptively has proven to be effective in improving the results of students' writing skills. The qualitative data based on the findings of student responses which showed that most students were interested and enjoyed the learning process through the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning method in the text of the teaching procedure.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how YouTube can be applied as a learning media to improve students' speaking skill at SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. The focus is to understand how YouTube can be used to improve speaking skill, addressing specific challenges faced by students in their English learning in speaking. The researcher used a qualitative method as the research design derived from observation and interviews. In addition, the research design was to observe students' activities in the teaching and learning process. The subjects of this study were grade 8 of SMP Muhammadiyah 10 odd semester. The researcher uses of YouTube in speaking learning for 8th grade junior high school students offers significant benefits, such as access to authentic and diverse content and opportunities for independent practice. However, it requires careful supervision and guidance to ensure the quality of content and provide necessary feedback. The result of research showed that the students felt interested in learning English.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze how first semester students in Early Childhood Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya were motivated through the Quizizz game-based learning method. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were gathered via observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The findings indicated that Quizizz enhanced motivation by fostering enjoyment, engagement, and concentration. The research concluded that while Quizizz temporarily increases enthusiasm, sustained motivation requires diverse learning approaches and active lecturer facilitation.
