<![CDATA[Language is an important means of communication to express our idea, emotion and feeling. Literature is creative and imaginative work of art spoken and written. Lyrics and poems, which are examples of literature, can express our feeling. Song is an imaginative awareness of experiences expressed through meaning, sound and rhythmic language choice so as to evoke an emotional response.There are many western musicians who use figure of speech in the songs. The researchers interested in Adele songs. Because her songs contain figure of speech and the researcher believes that these figure not yet well understood by the listeners. Her songs always contain about her experience.From this research, it is found in the songs that the kinds of figure of speech are personification, Metaphor and Synecdoche. The meaning in the figure of speech that is different from one song to another. Finally the researcher suggest the readers or other research want to conduct some researches that can analyze other types and aspect of figure of speech in the lyrics of songs composed or created by other singers.]]>

<![CDATA[The result of this study show that the English teacher used techniques SQ3R (survey or skimming, questioning, read, recall and review) and scanning in teaching. The implementation into students ability, the teacher used three-phase stages in reading they are: pre reading activity, whilst reading activity, and post reading activity. whereas the strength and weaknesses of the techniques, the teacher used the same techniques in teaching reading to make easier for students. It is to make student more attracted because the teacher always give them motivation in guidance and the teacher also help the students to increase their ability in pronunciation. Moreover, the researcher found in weaknesses of this technique sometimes the students felt bored because they got the same techniques used by the teacher. Therefore, it is suggested the teacher use these techniques in teaching reading comprehension, Finally the researcher suggested that the teacher should always give the motivation and the teacher combines the techniques so that the students can easily understand the lesson that the teacher teaches, it means that the teacher has made the students perform better in their learning activity.]]>

<![CDATA[English is very important to be learned by the people, because English as an international language widely used by society. This research describes the implementation and the student’s response after the teacher teaching reading novel for eleventh grade students at SMA GEMA 45 Surabaya. In this research, the researcher observed when the teacher teaching reading “Silas Marner†novel using cooperative learning techniques. This research aims to describe the implementation and the student’s responses after the teacher teaching reading for eleventh grade students at SMA GEMA 45 Surabaya. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. To collect the data, the researcher used three kinds of instruments they are: interview, observation and questionnaire. The teacher used jigsaw and number heads together to teach reading “Silas Marner†novel in each meeting. The results show that after the teacher teaching reading, the students have achievement in two aspects; speaking aspect and writing aspect. Besides that, through teaching reading novel using jigsaw and number heads together can help the students easy to comprehend “Silas Marner†novel and it can avoid student’s bore. Furthermore, the teacher should apply appropriate technique for the students who need to increase critical thinking when the students studying at class.]]>

<![CDATA[increase students' intrinsic motivation in learning English and find out how students respond to the use of Quizizz in teaching English during Covid 19. The researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the research design. The researcher analyzed qualitative and quantitative data, which came from observation, questionnaires, and interviews conducted in the last cycle to know the improvement of students' intrinsic motivation and responses. This study showed that Quizizz live lessons can increase students' intrinsic motivation in learning English. This was proven by the mean score acquired from the student's intrinsic motivation inventory questionnaire, which was 3.28 in the pre-cycle. This score improved to 3.63 in cycle 1 and even higher in cycle 2, which is 4.60. The qualitative data, based on finding the students' responses to Quizzes, showed that most students were interested in and enjoyed learning English through the Quizziz platform Quizziz platform is improving students' intrinsic motivation in learning English online classes in the Pandemic Era. ]]>

<![CDATA[This research was conducted to seek the process of Indonesian transnational students to be polyglots and what kind of speech varieties influenced them during that process in Japan. The present research conducted qualitative research with five Indonesian transnational students who settled in Japan for at least 1.5 years. Questionnaires and line phone call interviews were employed to collect data. Purposive sampling was applied to gain the subjects. The result found that four of the subjects reached an advanced level of Japanese language proficiency through numerous exposures, Japanese classes, watching television, and reading newspapers. Yet, a single subject remains at an intermediate level. Those exposures helped them to acquire Japanese and speech variety. Three of the subjects used the Kyoto dialect consciously since they got in touch with society and abandoned it when they moved to that another place. Yet the last two subjects did not use it. They only learned it because they had reasons that they were only students and would leave soon.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstrak:Â Pandemi covid-19 memiliki dampak dalam proses peningkatan kinerja guru. Guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Kabupaten Bojonegoro terkena dampak. Segala bentuk kegiatan pelatihan, workshop, serta MGMP terpaksa dihentikan selama masa pandemi covid-19. Sedangkan guru dalam meningkatkan kompetensi harus melaksanakan Pengembangan Keprofesian Berkelanjutan (PKB) melalui publikasi ilmiah. Tujuan umum PKB adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan pendidikan di sekolah dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Guru masih tergolong rendah dan kegiatan work from home (WFH) menjadi sebuah hambatan dalam guru mengembangkan kompetensi sehingga diperlukan pelatihan untk meningkatkan kompetensi profeisonal guru. Materi yang diberikan pada pelatihan publikasi ilmiah di arahkan pada penelitian praktis penulisan dengan menggunakan model project based learning. Metode penelitian dengan membandingkan hasil pretest dan posttest peserta dalam membuat karya ilmiah berdasarkan standar APA. Partisipan berjumlah 40 orang guru dengan masa kerja minimal 10 tahun. Pelatihan online project based learning pada penelitian ini dilakasnakan selama 3 bulan. Hasil dari pelatihan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dilihat melalui hasil statistik dari nilai post-test yang lebih baik dari pre-test. Kemampuan guru dalam menulis karya ilmiah telah mengalami peningkatan sehingga diperlukan untuk mempertahakan agar kualitas guru dalam menulis karya ilmiah dapat meningkat menjadi lebih baik.Kata Kunci: Penilaian Daring, Project Based Learning, Kompetensi BerkelanjutanAbstract:Â The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact in the process of improving teacher performance. Indonesian teachers in Bojonegoro Regency were affected. All forms of training activities, workshops, and Subject Teacher Deliberation had to be stopped during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, teachers in increasing competence must carry out Sustainable Professional Development through scientific publications. The general objective of Sustainable Professional Development is to improve the quality of education services in schools in order to improve the quality of education. Teachers are still classified as low and work from home (WFH) activities become an obstacle for teachers to develop competence. So, that training is needed to improve teacher professional competence. The material provided in scientific publication training is directed at practical research in writing using a project-based learning model. The results of the training have a significant effect seen through the statistical results of the post-test scores that are better than the pre-test. The ability of teachers in writing scientific papers has increased so it is necessary to maintain the quality of teachers in writing scientific papers to be better.Keywords: Online Assessments, Project Based Learning, During the Pandemic]]>

<![CDATA[A Covid 19 pandemic still haunts people around the world. The purpose of this research analysed learning methods that can be done during the pandemic. The research design used a systematic review. Search for articles was carried out from September to December 2020 by accessing 5 electronic databases Scopus, Science direct, Pubmed, Ebscohost and Proquest. The keywords based on MeSH according to the topic determined by the researcher. To assess the quality of researches that the researchers used the JBI Critical Apparitional Tool and PRISMA checklist as a guide for screening articles. Total of 11 articles were reviewed with a JBI score of> 50%. The results of the article analysis obtained, data was obtained that online learning methods are the main choice during the pandemic, namely by online learning using applications and e-learning, virtual and online simulations. This method is able to provide good effectiveness and is the main choice.]]>

<![CDATA[Program Kemitraan Masyarakat digital marketing dalam dilaksanakan di SD Muhammadiyah 7 Surabaya. Di balik usianya yang setengah abad masih sangat butuh dukungan dalam membranding sebuah institusi tersebut. Berdasarkan data media social Instagram hanya 453 postingan 878 pengikut dan 1.055 yang diikuti. Tidak hanya itu, dalam tampilan website isikonten masih tergolong minim dan belum mampu menggait publik, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan minimnya jumlah pengunjung pada website Selain itu publikasi dalam media masa masih tergolong minim dibandingkan dengan sekolah Muhammadiyah lainnya sehingga sentuhan publikasi media masaa sangat penting dilakukan agar SD ini lebih dikenal dan menjadi sekolah rujukan para orang tua. Identifikasi masalah yang ditemui dilapangan adalah belum adanya system promosi online yang efektif dan integrative. Design visual yang masih kurang menarik. Kemampuan pengelolaan sosial media yang terbatas. Guru yang tidak bisa menulis berita kegiatan dalam bentuk release dan terbatasnya akun promosi media sosial. Solusi yang ditawarkan yaitu membangun kesadaran pentingnya memahami digital marketing media sosial sebagai bahan promosi. Pembelajaran ini akan dilakukan secara berkala. Bentuk kegiatan yang akan ditawarkan dalam PKM ini adalah : (1) Workshop (2) Pelatihan dan Pengelolaan (3) Keberhasilan penelitian ini terlihat dalam jumlah feed IG yang semakin beragam dengan tampilan feed yang lebih menarik dengan jumlah tiga postingan setiap harinya serta keberhasilan penulisan berita sekolah pada website dan media online lainnya.]]>

<![CDATA[Mutu pembelajaran sastra selama ini masih rendah. Rendahnya mutupembelajaran sastra itu terlihat dari rendahnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalammengapresiasi sastra, termasuk mengapresiasi cerpen. Menurut penelitian para ahlihal ini disebabkan antara lain pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran sastrakurang sesuai dengan hakikat pembelajaran sastra dan tujuan pembelajaran sastra.Dengan latar belakang seperti di atas, dibutuhkan usaha untuk mengatasipermasalahan tersebut. Salah satu upaya adalah membuat suatu buku ajar yangdisesuaikan dengan latar belakang dan kemampuan mahasiswa. Diharapkan denganadanya buku ajar Apresiasi Sastra yang disusun oleh tim pengampu dosen matakuliah Apresiasi Sastra yang lebih aplikatif, representatif, serta sesuai dengan latarbelakang dan kemampuan mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia,akan meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran apresiasi sastra.Berdasarkan kajian literatur yang digunakan peneliti, dapatlah ditarikkesimpulan bagaimana menyusun suatu buku ajar yang aplikatif dan representatifbagi mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia UM Surabaya.Pengembangan buku ajar apresiasi sastra ini melalui 4 tahapan, yaitu tahap (1) adalahpendefinisian (define) berupa kegiatan identifikasi masalah dengan mendasarkan padatujuan dan kebutuhan pengajaran; meliputi analisis ujung depan (front-end analysis),analisis kebutuhan/masalah, perumusan tujuan, penentuan topik, penyusunan materi;tahap (2) adalah desain (design), peneliti merancang naskah/skenario dan prototipebuku ajar; tahap (3) adalah pengembangan (develope), penelitimemproduksi/menghasilkan prototipe untuk keseluruhan tatap muka sesuairancangan pada tahap sebelumnya, pada tahap ini juga akan dilakukan expertjudgment pada prototipe yang telah disusun.]]>

<![CDATA[This research analyzed about the using of turn-taking as the strategy in the radio talk show at Hard Rock FM in the topic Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment, the guest was Myra Brown. It was analyzed because the researcher considered that turn-taking was one of strategies of language. The research approach was descriptive qualitative. It identified the types of turn-taking, the speakers' strategies, some reasons that the speakers took the turn, and the relation among the speakers after they took the turn. The main theories that the researcher used were discourse analysis by Gee (2011), turn-taking by Renkema (2004), and context by van Dijk (2009). This research discovered that there were three types of turn taking. They are speaker's selection, speaker's self choice, and speaker's determination. Strategies that are used by the speakers, they are overlap, interruption, back-channel, and silence. One of the reasons that the speakers took the turn was that the hosts dig information from the guest related with the topic.]]>
