Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) Programme in Indonesia, describe sustainability, and challenges in implementing the programme. This research uses descriptive qualitative research by utilising data sources from books, articles, and related journals. The data collection technique was carried out by reviewing and analysing documents from several universities that have implemented the programme. The result of this study is that the universities that became the sample in the evaluation of MBKM implementation did not all implement the programme. Although there are universities that implement the programme, the percentage is still low. Therefore, universities need to do several things to improve it: 1) socialisation and inspire/motivate students to get involved in the programme. One of the strategies that can be anticipated to overcome the difficulties in producing outcomes that are aware of scientific and technological advances and able to compete in global progress is to design programme policies; 2) involve cooperation with several partners outside the college to equip students with MBKM programme experiences that are in accordance with student preferences; 3) colleges need to pay attention to the interests of students in implementing MBKM programmes, especially internship programmes that require extra funds. In addition, to support this programme, it is necessary to innovate learning models, collaborate with partners outside the campus, and adjust the study programme curriculum to be more adaptive in preparing graduates for the world of work.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the existence of traditional markets as sites of citizenship in responding to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This research departs from the basic assumption that the market is not only a place for economic transactions. But it is also a place for political, cultural, social and other transactions. Therefore, the Covid-19 Pandemic situation is not only related to the impact on the economy, it has a broader and deeper impact on the market as a site of citizenship. This research produces an understanding that traditional markets are quite important civic sites in the era of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research was conducted at 4 (four) traditional markets in Bantul Regency, namely Imogiri Market, Bantul Market, Angkruksari Market and Semampir Market. The subjects of this research were 61 people consisting of traders, market organizations (APPSI), and market heads as basic government representatives. The research was carried out and analyzed qualitatively and used source triangulation and technical triangulation. This research concludes that the Yogyakarta traditional market as a civic site is relatively effective in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic because it has family values, cooperation, and trust that are relatively dominant in decision making. Meeting activities in the form of deliberation and consensus in decision making are also dominant in this research. This research is still very limited and needs to be studied more widely and in depth with a relatively different approach.

Abstract

AbstractGay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) in Indonesia from the perspective of human rights, Islam, and Pancasila. Research is qualitative using the method of literature study (library research). LGBT based on a religious point of view, especially Islam and Pancasila are declared forbidden and contrary culture. But, the state is in ambiguity in determining policy. The State of Indonesia faces a dilemma between Pancasila and Islam with the consistency and spirit of human rights enforcement in Indonesia since the Reformation Era. This manifestation of ambiguity appears to be the lack of clear regulation of LGBT. This gives rise to discriminatory attitudes towards LGBT people both psychologically, physically socially, culturally, and economically. This study recommends that the state should take a bold stance in determining the point of view of LGBT. LGBT citizens should still be treated equally. The absence of regulation against LGBT is a manifestation of discrimination by the state. The state should give its perspective on LGBT in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia boasts a diverse culinary heritage that serves as a significant asset within the creative economy sector, particularly in tourism. In recent years, Indonesia's culinary industry has experienced substantial growth, making a notable contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the creative economy. One untapped potential lies in regional culinary specialties, such as those in the Karimunjawa Islands, which are renowned for their natural beauty but lack a distinctive signature dish. This study aims to develop a unique culinary product made from parrotfish in Karimunjawa, with a focus on skill training, product testing, packaging, and marketing. The research utilizes the fishbone model to identify key issues and solutions. Findings reveal that parrotfish-based cuisine holds significant potential to be developed as a tourist attraction and a unique local souvenir, which, in turn, could improve the welfare of the local community. However, challenges related to infrastructure, limited access to clean water, and economic dependence on external regions remain significant barriers that need to be addressed. Additionally, efforts to conserve parrotfish must be considered to ensure the sustainability of Karimunjawa's natural resources.
