Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics teaching module based on the ethnomathematics of the Sasak tribe, incorporating deep learning principles to enhance students' understanding of geometry. The research was conducted at MTs Muhammadiyah Selong with the involvement of 17 seventh-grade students. The module development followed the 4D model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The Define stage focused on gathering information, setting learning objectives, determining the topics, and identifying the target audience and content through data collection from observations and interviews. The Design stage involved selecting the module design, format, and structure. The Develop stage included the creation and editing of the module, followed by expert validation for content and media, and a pilot test to assess its functionality. The Disseminate stage included distributing the validated module to the students for further implementation. The results of the module validation from both media and content experts showed that the module was highly valid, with an average score of 82.69% for content and 82% for media design. A small-scale trial with teachers and students indicated that the module was very practical, with an average score of 84% from teachers and 81% from students. The effectiveness of the module was tested using a paired sample T-test, which revealed a significant improvement in students' geometric understanding (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the N-gain analysis showed a moderate improvement in the students' performance. This research highlights the potential of integrating deep learning principles with local ethnomathematics in creating a meaningful, contextual, and effective learning experience for students, particularly in the understanding of geometry.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the memories and recall of the character Ale in the novel Seporsi Mie Ayam Sebelum Mati by Brian Khrisna using a literary psychology approach based on Ludwig Klages’s personality theory. The study was conducted in 2026, with the research subject being the novel Seporsi Mie Ayam Sebelum by Brian Khrisna, published by Grasindo in 2025. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques consisting of reading and note-taking. The research data consists of quotations of sentences, dialogues, and narratives related to the aspects of memory and the ability to recall of the character Ale. The research instrument consists of data cards, while the data analysis technique was carried out through the stages of classification, description, and interpretation based on Ludwig Klages’ theory. The results of the study indicate that the character Ale’s memory encompasses the ability to recall past experiences, remember behavioral habits, harbor expectations regarding future impressions, revisit erroneous impressions resulting from traumatic experiences, and engage in fantasy as a form of psychological escape. Meanwhile, the character Ale’s memory capacity is divided into two forms: the capacity to recall experiences or events, and the capacity to recall objects that evoke the character’s emotional experiences. This study demonstrates that past experiences stored in memory have a significant influence on the development of the psychological state and personality of the character Ale in the novel.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the character values found in Bobo magazine and explore their relevance as a medium for character development among Generation Alpha. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The data consist of documents, specifically short stories published in Bobo magazine. Data were collected through observation and note-taking. The data were then validated using theoretical triangulation, followed by analysis using a flow model. The results of this study indicate that Bobo magazine contains six character values, including honesty, tolerance, democracy, curiosity, and friendship. These values not only build character intelligence but also contribute to ecological intelligence.

Abstract

This study examines the use of YouTube-based digital folklore content in creative writing instruction and its contribution to students’ writing development. The study was conducted with 30 students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at STKIP PGRI Bangkalan who were enrolled in the Creative Writing course in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. A mixed-methods approach was employed by combining descriptive quantitative data and qualitative classroom data. Quantitative data were obtained from pre-test and post-test writing scores as well as student-response questionnaires, while qualitative data were collected through classroom observation and interviews. The findings indicate an improvement in students’ writing performance, as reflected in the increase in the mean writing score from 60 to 85. Students’ understanding of folklore content also increased from 30% to 82%. In addition, most students responded positively to the learning process, with 95% reporting that they felt comfortable learning through YouTube-based folklore content, 93% stating that the videos helped them understand the material more quickly, and 92% reporting greater participation in classroom discussion. Qualitative findings further show that the use of audiovisual folklore content supported students’ concentration, self-confidence, and ability to develop ideas in writing. These findings suggest that YouTube-based digital folklore content can function as a contextual and engaging medium for writing instruction while simultaneously strengthening students’ cultural literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze discourse strategies in the fifth 2024 presidential debate using Norman Fairclough’s three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis model. The debate, organized by the General Elections Commission, served not only as a platform for delivering political programs but also as a space for candidates to construct self-image, assert ideological positions, and influence public perception through persuasive language. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data drawn from recordings of the debate broadcast through various media, including YouTube. Data were collected using observation and note-taking techniques, focusing on utterances containing particular discourse strategies. The analysis was conducted based on the dimensions of text, discursive practice, and social practice, with greater emphasis placed on the dimensions of text and social practice. The findings reveal that discourse strategies were constructed through diction choice, systematic argument structure, and the use of rhetorical devices such as repetition, metaphor, and quantification to build political legitimacy and shape public perspectives. At the level of social practice, these strategies reflect power relations, the construction of political identity, and the candidates’ ideological positions. This study is expected to contribute to the development of critical discourse analysis, particularly in the field of contemporary political communication.
