Abstract

This study aims to examine the philosophical thought of Ibn Sina within the framework of the classical Islamic intellectual tradition, with particular emphasis on the formation of his philosophical system, his synthesis of revelation and reason, and his metaphysical concepts of God and the soul. This research employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach. Primary data are derived from Ibn Sina’s major philosophical works, while secondary data are obtained from relevant scholarly literature. The analysis is conducted through systematic coding, categorization, and interpretation of key themes related to metaphysics, theology, and philosophical synthesis, in order to identify patterns, conceptual structures, and underlying meanings in Ibn Sina’s thought. The findings indicate that Ibn Sina developed a coherent philosophical system that successfully integrates Greek rational philosophy with Islamic theological principles. His concept of Wajib al-Wujud (Necessary Being) positions God as the absolute and self-subsistent first cause, while his theory of the soul conceptualizes it as an immaterial, rational, and eternal substance. Furthermore, his framework demonstrates a systematic reconciliation between reason and revelation, reflecting a distinctive characteristic of classical Islamic intellectual tradition. The study implies that Ibn Sina’s philosophical synthesis remains relevant for contemporary intellectual discourse, particularly in addressing the relationship between religion and rationality. It also underscores the significant contribution of classical Islamic philosophy to global philosophical development and provides a conceptual foundation for further research using interdisciplinary and comparative approaches.

Abstract

The resilience crisis experienced by wives within modern family structures is often rooted in a disconnection between intrapersonal needs and transcendental orientation. This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the psychodynamics of wives’ resilience by positioning self-love as a manifestation of hablumminannas (the horizontal dimension of human relationships) and spiritual coping as a manifestation of hablumminallah (the vertical dimension of the relationship with God) in maintaining family harmony. Employing a qualitative approach with an interpretative phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with married women who had encountered significant family stressors yet successfully maintained domestic stability. Data were analyzed using an explicative analysis technique to uncover the essential structure of participants’ lived experiences. The findings reveal that self-love determination functions as an ego-regulating mechanism that prevents pathological self-abnegation, while spiritual coping serves as a cognitive reappraisal mechanism that transforms suffering into theological meaning. The integration of these two dimensions forms a “theo-psychological resilience axis” that enables wives to transcend primitive self-defense mechanisms and achieve mature adaptation. The originality of this study lies in its reconceptualization of self-love, which is often perceived as selfish within secular perspectives, as an ethical obligation to safeguard the trust of the self within the framework of Islamic spirituality. The findings underscore the importance of family-based clinical interventions that integrate self-esteem enhancement through self-appreciation and transcendental spiritual support.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of pesantren education from ethical, legal, and psychological perspectives by placing the thinking of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari is the main basis of the analysis. This research uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies with hermeneutic-critical analysis. The results of the study show that in the thinking of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, pesantren education is built on the integration of adab, fiqh, and kiai-santri relations as the foundation for the formation of student character. This study found that adab is placed as the main requirement in the process of seeking knowledge, so that students are required to prioritize respect for teachers, sincerity, discipline, and self-control before achieving intellectual competence. In the normative dimension, fiqh is not only understood as a formal rule of worship, but also as an instrument for fostering social behavior and ethics in the daily life of students. Meanwhile, the kiai-santri relationship functions as an affective pedagogical model that emphasizes example, emotional closeness, and habituation of values through direct interaction in pesantren life. These findings show that pesantren education from the perspective of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari is oriented towards the integration of intellectual, spiritual, and moral development. This article emphasizes that this paradigm has high relevance in responding to the crisis of dehumanization of modern education. The novelty of this research lies in the effort of an integrative conceptual reconstruction, which synthesizes the dimensions of ethics, law, and psychology in one coherent epistemic framework, different from previous studies that tended to be partial, both sociological, historical, and pedagogical. These findings show that the paradigm is relevant in responding to the crisis of dehumanization of modern education as well as contributing to the development of a more integrative epistemology of Islamic education.
