Abstract

Infection in pediatric will affect the child's growth and development. Cases of respiratory infections that occurred due to the spread of the Covid 19 virus in 2019-2022 are often reported as the highest cause of death in cases of infection. The aim of this research is to analyze the factors that influence the level of emergency due to Covid-19 in children. This research is correlational analytical research. Respondents were 52 children. The results of the bivariate analysis test show a relationship between the emergency level of Covid 19 patients admitted to the emergency room and the nutritional status variables, signs of respiratory and the incidence of diarrhea. The factor most related to the level of emergency in Covid-19 children from the diarrhea. The incidence of diarrhea is caused by an infectious process that has spread and affected the digestive tract in children. Severe Diarrhea can causes dehydration and electrolyte abnormalities.

Abstract

Mother's milk can educate and improve the quality of the nation's young generation. Every baby who is breastfed will have natural immunity against disease because breast milk contains many antibodies, active immune substances that will fight the entry of infections into the baby's body. Inadequate breast milk production causes the baby's needs to not be met and exclusive breastfeeding fails. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of health education through giving marmet massage on the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers to increase breast milk production.  The research design uses a pre-experimental approach with a one group pre test post test design.

Abstract

A Sedentary lifestyle is a low energy expenditure, which expends calories 1.5 METs or less. It most likely leads to various metabolic diseases, such as Diabetic Mellitus. Some factors influencing a sedentary lifestyle are knowledge, attitudes, gender, convenience, transportation, technological advances, COVID-19 outbreaks, and consequences. A sedentary behavior becomes a typical lifestyle among teenagers, including students. Therefore, counseling about a sedentary lifestyle and its effects is very much needed among students. This counseling aims to increase knowledge about the sedentary lifestyle and its dangers so that students can avoid it and increase physical activity. The implementation method in this counseling consists of 3 stages, these stages are preparation, implementation and evaluation. Sixty-five nursing students attended this counseling activity; most participants (70%) were female. The result shows that some respondents did not know about the sedentary lifestyle and its dangers. After counseling, almost all respondents knew about the sedentary lifestyle and its risks. Moreover, they were committed to reducing sedentary behavior and increasing physical activity. Based on the results, it can be concluded that counseling may increase students’ commitment to physical activity and sports.   Keywords: physical activity, Sedentary lifestyle

Abstract

Earthquakes are one of the natural disasters that frequently occur in Indonesia and claim many lives. Kediri City is an earthquake-prone area because it is home to one of the active volcanoes, Kelud Mountain. Children are among the vulnerable groups most at risk of being affected by disasters. Preparedness is important to be provided early to provide understanding and guidance on the appropriate steps to take when a threat occurs to reduce disaster risk. This community service activity aimed to determine the effect of simulation on earthquake disaster preparedness among students of SDN Pojok 2, Kediri City. The method used a pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design. The samples were taken using cluster random sampling and the sample size used was 46 students. The preparedness data were collected using a questionnaire. The data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results of the activity showed that the level of preparedness before the disaster simulation was almost entirely low (80.5%), the level of preparedness after the disaster simulation was almost entirely high (86.9%), and there was an effect of simulation on earthquake disaster preparedness among students of SDN Pojok 2, Kediri City (ρ = 0.000). Preparedness simulations have significantly improved elementary school students' disaster preparedness. Therefore, it is hoped that disaster management simulations can be implemented in all schools in Kediri City, with training provided to elementary school teachers.
