Abstract

This study aims to reveal the legal verses in the Koran, especially the legal verses about human relationships (habluminannas) that have been written in the Koran, as a guide or reference for Muslims. Especially in the case, the number of verses regarding muamalah law is relatively small, especially when compared to the law verses on worship. While the development of life seems to continue to change. while the verse has no changes and additions. This research was conducted with literature study, data collection techniques using documentation techniques with data analysis, namely content analysis. The results show that the verses of muamalah law are classified into 7 (seven) sections, including those related to family law, civil law, criminal law, procedural law, administrative law, economic law, and finance. The verse of law regulates fellow human beings or muamalahs which provide little opportunity for Muslims to implement muamalah activities in accordance with the guidelines contained in the Koran and Hadith, if not explicitly explained it is supported by other legal products such as ushul fiqh and kaedah- fiqh principles.

Abstract

Breast cancer is a malignancy arising from the mammary glands and is the most common cancer found in women. The diagnosis of breast cancer is established using the triple assessment method, which involves physical examination, radiological assessment, and histopathological examination of the breast. This study aims to determine the concordance between physical and radiological examinations with histopathology, which serves as the gold standard. The study utilized an observational analytic cross-sectional design, gathering data from the medical records of breast cancer patients at Royal Prima General Hospital and Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital in Medan. Statistical testing using Chi-Square showed no significant concordance between physical examination and histopathological examination (p>0.05). The radiological examination, however, showed significant concordance but with a negative correlation, suggesting that a higher histopathological grade is associated with a lower BI-RADS level (r=-0.189; p=0.039). Radiological examination demonstrated better concordance with histopathology compared to the physical examination, but it still cannot replace the role of histopathology as the gold standard for breast cancer diagnosis.

Abstract

Breast cancer remains a significant public health concern in Indonesia, with emerging evidence suggesting that hormonal contraceptive type influences not only cancer incidence but also tumor aggressiveness. This cross-sectional study examined the relationship between hormonal contraceptive formulations and histopathological grading of breast cancer at RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Hospital, Medan. The study included 100 women with confirmed invasive breast cancer who were selected using the Lemeshow formula for sample size calculation. A structured data extraction form collected information on contraceptive type, duration of use, and Nottingham grading classification. Fisher's Exact Test and chi-square test analyzed associations between contraceptive types and grading categories. Results demonstrated that oral pill users predominantly developed well-differentiated cancers (51.7%), while injectable users predominantly developed poorly-differentiated tumors (56.3%), representing a highly significant inverse relationship (p-value = 0.000, OR = 0.105). Moderately-differentiated grading showed no significant association with contraceptive type. These findings indicate that contraceptive formulation substantially influences tumor characteristics beyond cancer occurrence alone. The study's cross-sectional design limits causal inference, and future prospective cohort studies with larger samples and comprehensive molecular characterization are needed. The pronounced predominance of aggressive tumor phenotypes among injectable contraceptive users necessitates more intensive breast cancer screening protocols and improved patient counseling regarding differential cancer risks across contraceptive formulations in Indonesian populations.

Abstract

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) remains a major malignancy in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. Variations in histopathological types are suspected to be influenced by carcinogenic risk factors such as smoking, consumption of grilled foods, preserved foods, and alcohol intake. This study aims to analyze differences in the dominant histopathological types of NPC—Keratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma (KSCC), Non-Keratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma (NKSCC), and Undifferentiated Cell Carcinoma—based on major risk factors in Medan. An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using 75 eligible medical records of NPC patients (2020–2025) from Royal Prima Ayahanda Hospital Medan and Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital Medan. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square or Fisher’s Exact Test and Odds Ratio. Results indicate that Undifferentiated Cell Carcinoma is the most prevalent type (61.3%), followed by NKSCC (29.3%) and KSCC (9.3%). No significant association was found between smoking, grilled food consumption, preserved food intake, or alcohol use and the histopathological types (p > 0.05). However, a higher risk tendency was observed for preserved food consumption toward KSCC (OR = 6.00) and grilled food consumption toward KSCC (OR = 2.98). These findings provide preliminary insight into how carcinogenic exposures may shape histopathological patterns of NPC and support future prevention and screening strategies in endemic regions.
