Abstract

Abstract: Adolescence is the period between childhood and adulthood when significant changes occur in cognitive, physical, and emotional elements. During this time, there is a rise in interest in sexuality. Unfortunately, youngsters' sexual curiosity is not accompanied by adequate sex education. Most individuals still consider discussing sexuality to be taboo. Finally, teenagers tend to learn on their own, either by talking with friends or searching the internet. The ease with which adolescents can have access to the internet is one of the contributing elements that can lead to their becoming addicted to pornography.The amount of pornographic material available, as well as adverts including sexual content, remain visible on the device's screen. Using the literature study technique, this study attempts to investigate the causes and consequences of pornography addiction in adolescents. Pornography addiction in adolescents is induced by both internal and environmental influences, according to the findings. Curiosity, spirituality, and emotional factors are examples of internal factors. Pornography addiction in adolescents can impair cognitive, emotional, and social elements, as well as possibly unsafe sexual behavior, due to external causes such as easy access to pornographic material on the internet, peers, and a lack of sexual education. Abstrak: Memasuki masa remaja, terjadi perubahan signifikan terjadi pada elemen kognitif, fisik, dan emosional. Pada masa ini, terjadi peningkatan minat terhadap seksualitas. Sayangnya, keingintahuan seksual remaja tidak dibarengi dengan pendidikan seks yang memadai. Sebagian besar individu masih menganggap bahwa membicarakan seksualitas adalah hal yang tabu. Akhirnya, remaja cenderung belajar sendiri, baik dengan berbincang dengan teman atau mencari di internet. Salah satu faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap kecanduan pornografi pada anak-anak adalah kemudahan mereka mengakses internet. Banyaknya materi pornografi yang tersedia, serta iklan yang memuat konten seksual, tetap terlihat di layar gawai. Dengan menggunakan teknik studi literatur, penelitian ini mencoba untuk menyelidiki penyebab dan konsekuensi dari kecanduan pornografi pada remaja. Kecanduan pornografi pada remaja disebabkan oleh pengaruh internal dan lingkungan, menurut temuan. Keingintahuan, spiritualitas, dan faktor emosional adalah contoh faktor internal. Kecanduan pornografi pada remaja dapat merusak elemen kognitif, emosional, dan sosial, serta kemungkinan perilaku seksual yang tidak aman, karena penyebab eksternal seperti akses mudah ke materi pornografi di internet, teman sebaya, dan kurangnya pendidikan seksual.

Abstract

Social media and teenagers are interrelated and almost inseparable. Since the pandemic, the level of mobile phone usage has increased because learning activities and social interactions have moved online. So, the use of social media among teenagers has also increased. On the other hand, social media plays an important role in supporting social interaction between them. However, being active on social media makes you vulnerable to cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying behavior carried out using information technology, such as the internet and mobile phones. Activities in cyberspace lead to a higher risk of cyberbullying because social boundaries in cyberspace are considered looser than in the real world, so that the perpetrators feel more courageous and think they do not need to take responsibility for their actions. Cyberbullying can have an impact on the psychological and social conditions of teenagers. The role of parents and teachers is needed as a protective factor so that teenagers avoid cyberbullying, both as perpetrators and victims. Abstrak Media sosial dan remaja merupakan dua hal yang saling berkaitan dan hampir tidak dapat terpisahkan. Semenjak pandemi melanda, tingkat penggunaan gawai pun meningkat lantaran aktivitas belajar maupun interaksi sosial berpindah ke dunia maya. Seiring dengan hal tersebut, penggunaan media sosial di kalangan remaja pun ikut meningkat. Di satu sisi, media sosial berperan penting dalam menunjang interaksi sosial tetap berlangsung. Akan tetapi, beraktivitas di media sosial rentan mengalami cyberbullying. Cyberbullying merupakan bentuk perilaku perundungan yang dilakukan menggunakan teknologi informasi, seperti internet dan gawai. Cyberbullying ditandai dengan adanya perilaku yang sengaja ditujukan untuk menyakiti dan dilakukan berulang-ulang, Aktivitas di dunia maya menyebabkan resiko cyberbullying lebih tinggi sebab batasan sosial di dunia maya dianggap lebhi longgar dibandingkan di dunia nyata sehingga pelaku merasa lebih berani dan menganggap tidak perlu mempertanggungjawabkan perbuatannya. Cyberbullying dapat berdampak pada kondisi psikologis dan sosial remaja. Peran orang tua dan guru sangat diperlukan sebagai faktor protektif agar remaja terhindar dari cyberbullying, baik sebagai perilaku maupun korban.

Abstract

This study examined whether cognitive load moderates the relationship between metacognition and critical thinking among students in Indonesia. A total of 201 undergraduate and diploma students participated by completing an online questionnaire using the Indonesian version of the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI), the Leppink et al. adaptation of the Cognitive Load Scale, and the Sosu adaptation of the Critical Thinking Disposition Scale. Results showed that metacognition had a significant positive effect on critical thinking (p<.001), explaining approximately 47-50% of the variance across models. However, intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load did not significantly moderate this relationship. The interaction between metacognitive awareness and critical thinking disposition remains stable across varying levels of perceived cognitive load. These findings highlight metacognition as a robust predictor of critical thinking disposition and suggest that perceived cognitive load may not substantially alter this relationship at the dispositional level. Rather than contradicting Cognitive Load Theory, the results refine its applicability by indicating that cognitive load effects may be more observable in performance-based contexts. Future research may explore whether cognitive load exerts stronger moderating effects on performance-based critical thinking tasks under experimentally manipulated conditions.
