Abstract

Latar Belakang: Cabai merah giling merupakan hasil penggilingan cabai segar dengan atau tanpa bahan pengawet. Pedagang sering menambahkan pewarna selain penambahan pengawet. Pewarna sintetis yang biasa ditambahkan dalam cabai merah giling misalnya orangered bahkan Rhodamin B. Rhodamin B ditambahkan ke cabai giling bertujuan untuk memperbaiki warna dan menutupi kekurangan karakteristik cabai yang jelek. Tujuan: Mengetahui kandungan Rhodamin B pada cabai merah giling yang dijual di pasar tradisional di Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode: Jenis penelitian deskriptif analitik. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Februari-Mei 2016 dengan sampel sejumlah 64 cabai merah giling yang didapatkan dari delapan pasar tradisional di Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta yang diambil 1x/minggu selama 5 minggu. Hasil: Terdapat 3 (4,68%) sampel positif mengandung zat warna Rhodamin B. Warna cabai merah yang berwarna oranye sebesar 7,81%, oranye merah sebesar 53,12%, oranye merah gelap sebesar 15,62%, merah cerah sebesar 15,62%, dan merah gelap sebesar 7,81%. Aroma menyengat cabai merah giling sebesar 95,31%, dan tidak berbau sebesar 4,68%. Kesimpulan: Terdapat kandungan zat warna Rhodamin B pada cabai merah giling yang dijual di pasar tradisional di Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta sebanyak (4,68%).Kata kunci: Rhodamin B; cabai merah giling; pasar tradisional

Abstract

The objective of this research were to find out the effectiveness of computer games in teaching vocabulary and to find out the students’ respons in teaching vocabulary using computer games.  This research used total sampling where all of population as sample, there were 30 students.This research used vocabulary test as instrument.  In collecting data, this research used some procedures namely pre test, treatment, post test and interview.  In pre test and post test used vocabulary test.  In pre test the students got score in poor classification namely 63,33 % and 36,66 % got fairly poor and mean score 3,0 (poor).  This is implies that the students had low vocabulary.  In post test, the students got score in very good classification namely 43,33 %, 30 % got good, and 26,66 % got fairly good and mean score 8,2 (good).  This is implies that the students got increasing in vocabulary after treatment.  In interview, all of the students gave positive respons of using computer games.  Based on the findings and discussion of the study, the writer concludes that the computer games is effective method in teaching vocabulary to the students at SDN 255 Mancani.

Abstract

Perkembangan bahasa merupakan salah satu mata rantai pertumbuhan anak. Anak mengalami sebuah proses belajar secara bertahap untuk mencapai sebuah keutuhan berbahasa. Pada penelitian ini membahas tentang pemerolehan bahasa pada anak khusunya pemerolehan fonologi (vokoid dan kontoid) dan faktor yang mempengaruhi pemerolehan fonologi. Penelitian ini adalah studi kasus pada anak berumur 24 bulan bernama Alfian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pemerolehan bunyi vokoid dan kontoid pada anak. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan kemudian direkam dan wawancara pada orang tua Alfian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemerolehan vokoid dalam bahasa Indonesia pada Alfi dikategorikan baik karena bunyi yang diucapkan sudah sempurna, variasi alofonik untuk masing-masing bunyi sudah ada, kecuali untuk [o] dan [e] yang sebenarnya merupakan bagian dari diftong [au] dan [ai]. Kemudian beberapa kontoid yang sudah dikuasainya, ada yang masih berfluktuasi dengan bunyi lain, dan bahkan ada yang sama sekali belum dikuasainya. Adapun kontoid yang sudah dikuasainya adalah [b], [p], [m], [n], [d], [g] dan [l]. Konsonan yang masih muncul fluktuatif adalah [t], [c], dan [s]. Bunyi frikatif [s] diakhir kata secara jelas diucapkan Alfi dengan jelas pada kata ‘habis’ diucapakan dengan kata ‘abis’, namun pada awal kata sering diucapkan [c] misalnya ‘cucu’/’susu’. Adapun kontoid yang belum dapat diucapakan Alfi adalah [h], [r], [k], [j], [y], [q], [w], [x] dan [z]. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemerolehan fonologi pada alfi adalah belum sempurnanya alat-alat ucap dan juga adanya faktor stimulus dari keluarga atau lingkungan sekitarnya..

Abstract

The aims of this research are to what extent the implementation of fun English learning in enhancing students’ vocabulary and to find out students’ interest toward the implementation of Fun English Learning to the students at remote school at Limbong. The students are thought in indoor class and outdoor class by applying fun English learning. The researcher used experimental research design, which applies pretest and post-test. The researcher will use two instruments namely vocabulary test and interview. The population of this research is the students at SMP 1 Limbong. There are 98 students was taken from three classes that are class 7, 8, and 9. The researcher will choose the eighth grade students, which consists of 20 students as sample. The results of this research are; 1) the used of fun English learning in teaching vocabulary improved the students’ achievement, 2) the students are interest in learning English by applying fun English learning, Most of them gave positive responses.

Abstract

This research is about the efficacy of workshop model in teaching reading comprehension. The aims of this research were to find out whether the use of workshop model is efficacious to improve the reading achievement of the sixth semester English department students of Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo and to find out the students' interest toward application of workshop model in learning reading comprehension.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out (1) the role of lecturers in the classroom in teaching English and (2) students' attitudes in the classroom during the teaching of English. The population in this study was the third-semester students of Cokroaminoto Palopo University. The researcher randomized 60 students to be 30 students as the samples and took five lecturers as the research subjects. This research used mix method with an observation checklist and questionnaire as an instrument. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively by linking the results of the instrument to the theory. The results show that the role of the lecturers in the classroom tends to influence the increase in the students learning interest in the classroom. The students have good responses to the role of the lecturers in teaching English in the classroom. Students' attitude in the classroom during the learning process tends to be active and easy to understand the material, improving thinking ability and English learning ability.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the home visit strategy on the reading comprehension of the fifth grade students at SDN 188 Manunggal. This research is an ex-post facto research type. The population in this research was 16 students and the sample was taken by totaling sampling. The data were collected by questionnaires and  tests. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results shows that there was an effect of the home visit strategy toward the reading comprehension of the fifth grade students of SDN 188 Manunggal, it is indicated by r-count 0.107 < r-table 0.497 with a significance level of 5% and the number N = 16 with a significance value of 0.693 > 0.05. So  the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the hypothesis (H0) is rejected.  The level of closeness between the comprehension test and student responses shows that there is an influence by the point 0.600-0.799 on the strong category. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect between the home visit strategy toward the students' reading comprehension   of  the fifth grade students at SDN 188 Manunggal.

Abstract

Kegiatan PKM English for Specific Purposes (ESP) diadakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ESP siswa di SMK Pertanian Luwu yang terletak di Desa Barammase, Kecamatan Walenrang, Kabupaten Luwu. SMK ini terdiri dari berbagai jurusan, salah satunya adalah jurusan pertanian. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra PKM ini adalah: 1) Pengetahuan dan kemampuan ESP siswa SMK Negeri 4 Luwu khususnya yang berkaitan dengan bahasa Inggris pertanian masih sangat rendah karena tidak adanya pembelajaran ESP pertanian di sekolah mitra dan 2) Belum adanya wadah yang dapat memfasilitasi siswa untuk memperdalam dan mempraktekkan ESP terkait bahasa Inggris Pertanian di baik sekolah mitra ataupun di luar sekolah. Solusi yang diberikan untuk mengatasi permasalahan di atas adalah 1) Memberikan pengenalan tentang ESP Pertanian dalam bentuk pendampingan belajar bagi siswa di sekolah mitra untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa tentang ESP pertanian. 2) Pembentukan ESP Club sebagai wadah bagi siswa untuk mempraktekkan dan memperdalam pemahaman serta keterampilan mitra tentang ESP Pertanian. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diadakan selama 3 (tiga) bulan yang meliputi tahap 1) Persiapan, 2) Pelaksanaan Kegiatan, Pelaksanaan program ini melibatkan dua orang dosen UNCP, 4 orang mahasiswa, dan sekolah mitra (SMKN 4 Luwu), 3) Evaluasi, dilakukan melalui pemberian pre-test dan post-test dan on going evaluation, dan 4) Keberlanjutan Program dengan pembentukan ESP Club. Hasil luaran yang diperoleh dari pelaksanaan PKM Pendampingan English for Specific Purposes (ESP) bagi siswa SMK Negeri 4 Luwu in terdiri dari dua luaran yaitu luaran wajib dan luaran tambahan. Adapun luaran wajib adalah 1) publikasi pada jurnal ilmiah berISSN dan HKI artikel, sementara luaran tambahan adalah 1) Meningkatnya kemampuan kosakata bahasa Inggris dasar siswa terkait ESP Pertanian, 2) terbentuknya ESP Clup bagi siswa SMK Negeri 4 Luwu.
