Abstract

This research aims to analyze the law enforcement mechanisms carried out by the Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri) in facing the lack of ethics among social media users that potentially lead to cybercrimes. With a focus on handling cybercrime cases on social media, this research reveals and analyzes the steps taken by Dittipidsiber in responding to ethical violations in cyberspace. The research methodology employed is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through document studies, interviews, and observations to gain a comprehensive understanding of the law enforcement processes undertaken by Dittipidsiber. Data analysis was conducted by interpreting information obtained from these sources to construct a comprehensive understanding of the research subject. The conclusions of this research indicate that Dittipidsiber Bareskrim Polri has implemented a series of repressive and preventive efforts to address cybercrimes. These efforts include law enforcement, investigation, prosecution, infrastructure improvement, education and training, socialization and education, sanctions enforcement, as well as international cooperation. Additionally, the mechanisms for handling cybercrime cases involve both criminal and non-criminal legal policies, digital forensic analysis, and service optimization to prevent criminal activities, based on the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). Education and socialization to the public also play a crucial role in preventing cybercrimes.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of Generation Z leadership in supporting work-life balance implementation and its implications for enhancing professionalism in public service at the Sumbawa Barat Police Traffic Unit. The development of Generation Z leadership characteristics, which are characterised by open communication, collaboration, technological adaptation, and concern for members’ welfare, presents an interesting phenomenon to examine within police organisational environments that have high work demands and are oriented towards public service. This research also identifies supporting and inhibiting factors for Generation Z leadership in realising work-life balance to improve the quality of service to the community. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected from various literature sources, including scientific journals, books, and previous relevant research related to Generation Z leadership, work-life balance, professionalism, and public service. Data analysis involved data collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions from findings related to the research focus. The results indicate that Generation Z leadership plays a strategic role in supporting work-life balance through digital technology adoption, open communication, a collaborative work culture, and member empowerment. Supporting factors for implementing work-life balance include the ability to utilise digital technology, transformational leadership, a collaborative work culture, organisational support, and flexible work management. Conversely, inhibiting factors include high public service demands, hierarchical work culture, work-related stress, blurred boundaries between work and personal life due to technological developments, and differing perceptions between organisational generations. Implementing work-life balance has shown positive effects on public service quality, member productivity, job satisfaction, organisational commitment, reduced work-related stress, and increased professionalism in the Sumbawa Barat Police Traffic Unit.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the escalation of violence in youth brawls in Jakarta, especially the use of acid as a weapon. Using a literature review method of scientific articles, media reports, and policy documents, this study highlights the factors that drive the transformation of violence to become more extreme. The results of the study indicate that weak regulations on the distribution of chemicals, the role of social media as a medium of provocation, and minimal early intervention are the main factors. Acid is used not only to injure, but also as a symbol of power in inter-group conflicts. On the other hand, social media has the potential to be a means of anti-violence campaign if managed positively. This study recommends a collaborative cross-sectoral approach through regulation, education, and digital literacy to reduce youth violence sustainably.

Abstract

Integrated data management has become critical for intelligence analysis, particularly in terrorism-related crime handling. The Intelligence Directorate of Detachment 88 AT Polri faces significant challenges managing case data from multiple units and information sources. This study analyzes the utilization of a Case Management System (CMS) model in supporting intelligence analysis activities at Detachment 88. A qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews with key informants (Director of Intelligence, Head of Sub-Directorate of Analysis, and intelligence analysts) and document analysis of internal reports and national policies conducted during 2020-2023. Findings indicate that integrated CMS implementation positively impacts analysis speed, information accuracy, and cross-unit coordination. However, limitations persist including partial data integration due to format differences, reliance on manual verification processes, slow processing of large-volume data from social media and CCTV, and network infrastructure constraints in operational areas. System interoperability plays a crucial role in supporting timely and precise intelligence decision-making. The study identifies three critical pillars for CMS effectiveness: multi-source data integration, adaptation to evolving terrorism methods utilizing digital technology, and robust data security mechanisms including encryption and role-based access controls. CMS must evolve from a data repository to an AI-enabled analytical platform with automated data fusion, modular architecture, and layered security protocols to effectively counter dynamic terrorism threats while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
