Abstract

Guidance and Counseling in elementary schools has a strategic role in shapingstudents' character. This study aims to analyze the implementation of guidanceand counseling in developing students' character in Putat public elementaryschools, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and develop strategies toimprove the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services. Using adescriptive qualitative approach, this study collected data through observation,interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate thatguidance and counseling in Putat public elementary schools has been integratedinto the education system, although it still faces obstacles such as limitedprofessional guidance and counseling personnel, lack of parental understanding,and external influences such as social media. Supporting factors include supportfrom the principal, teacher competence, and collaboration with teachers andparents. Strategies to improve the effectiveness of guidance and counselinginclude integration with the curriculum, experience-based learning methods, anddigital technology-based approaches. With improvements in guidance andcounseling services, it is hoped that students' characters can develop optimallyand sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of educational management functions at Sidokumpul 2 Gresik public elementary school. The management functions studied include planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that although the implementation of educational management functions at Sidokumpul 2 Gresik Public Elementary School has been running well, there are still obstacles such as budget limitations and a lack of competent educators. Therefore, a more effective management improvement strategy is needed to improve this school's education quality.

Abstract

The SQ3R learning model in principle stands for the steps of studying a text, which include: First, Survey, namely examining or researching or identifying the entire text. Second, Question, namely compiling a list of questions that are relevant to the text. Third, Read, namely reading the text actively to find answers to the questions that have been arranged. Fourth, Recite, namely memorizing every answer that has been found. Fifth, Review, namely reviewing all the answers to the questions arranged in the second and third steps, we conducted a class action research (CAR) with the following title: "Improvement of social studies learning outcomes regarding natural resource use activities through cooperative learning of the S3QR technique in class students IV Glagaharum Elementary School, Porong District, Academic Year 2023/2024, which focuses on how the activities of class VI students at Glagaharum Elementary School, Porong District in implementing the S3QR technique learning method regarding natural resource utilization activities and the application of the S3QR technique learning method can improve fourth grade students' understanding of natural resource utilization activities in Glagaharum Elementary School, Porong District

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi ekosistem di SMP Negeri 1 Buduran. Model PjBL dipilih karena mampu melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran melalui kegiatan proyek nyata yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII yang mengikuti pembelajaran IPA dengan model PjBL melalui proyek pembuatan mini ekosistem dalam botol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam enam indikator keterampilan proses sains, yaitu mengamati, mengklasifikasi, menafsirkan data, merancang eksperimen, mengkomunikasikan, dan menyimpulkan. Indikator paling menonjol adalah mengamati dan mengkomunikasikan, sementara indikator merancang eksperimen masih memerlukan bimbingan lebih lanjut. Siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama proses pembelajaran, dan guru menyatakan bahwa PjBL meningkatkan kemandirian serta rasa tanggung jawab siswa. Kesimpulannya, penerapan PjBL terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran IPA yang kontekstual, menarik, serta sesuai dengan prinsip pembelajaran abad ke-21 dan Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This study analyzes the contribution of Seasoning LLR, a local small and medium enterprise (SME), in Putat Village, Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo Regency, to employment and poverty reduction. Using a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data were obtained from a structured questionnaire distributed to 35 respondents, while qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations. The study findings indicate that Seasoning LLR plays a significant role in providing employment, particularly for women and individuals with low educational backgrounds. Approximately 46% of respondents work in Seasoning LLR, making it a key driver of local economic activity. This enterprise not only contributes to increased income but also empowers women by integrating them into productive economic activities. However, the study also identified challenges, including limited capital, inadequate marketing strategies, and low human resource capacity. Although employment absorption is evident, its impact on income growth remains relatively small, with only 38% of workers experiencing an increase in income. Therefore, innovation in product development, digital marketing expansion, and skills training are important strategies to increase the contribution of this business. Overall, Seasoning LLR demonstrates potential as a community-based model for sustainable poverty alleviation and rural economic empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of innovative technology-based learning in improving students' communication skills in English learning at SMA Tribhakti Tanggulangin. The background of this study is based on the low level of student engagement and communication skills in conventional learning. The innovative learning implemented integrates technology such as learning applications, interactive videos, and online discussion platforms to create a dynamic and collaborative learning environment. The research method uses a descriptive quantitative design with a quasi-experimental approach, involving 60 grade XI students who are divided into experimental and control groups. The results showed that the experimental group that participated in technology-based learning experienced significant improvements in speaking and listening skills, compared to the control group that used traditional methods. In addition, students in the experimental group reported higher levels of engagement, felt more confident in communicating, and were more motivated in learning English. This study also identified that obstacles such as internet access and devices were still obstacles, although the benefits of using technology were much more dominant. The conclusion of this study confirms that English learning that combines innovative and technological approaches can have a positive impact on improving students' communication skills significantly and enjoyably.

Abstract

This study explores the deconstruction of the concept of wali (saint) in Sufi tradition, focusing on its transformation from a purely spiritual notion into a multidimensional social and cultural construct. Using a qualitative-critical approach and discourse analysis, this research examines classical Sufi texts, contemporary scholarship, and social representations of wali in digital media. The findings reveal that in classical Sufism, wali is understood as a servant of God who achieves closeness through spiritual purification and divine love. However, when intertwined with local culture, the concept evolves into a mythologized and institutionalized figure embodying spiritual authority and social power. In modern contexts, the image of wali is further mediated through digital platforms, often resulting in sensationalized and commodified portrayals detached from authentic Sufi values. The study argues that deconstructing the wali discourse is essential to rediscover its ethical and spiritual essence while exposing ideological and cultural distortions. Ultimately, this research highlights that wali remains relevant as a moral and social guide, provided the concept is reinterpreted critically and contextually in light of contemporary religious and social realities

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization of principal leadership in theimplementation of deep learning at Candipari Elementary School, Porong,Sidoarjo Regency. The research background is based on the importance ofadaptive and visionary leadership in supporting the integration of artificialintelligence-based learning technology in elementary schools. The study used adescriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depthinterviews, participant observation, and documentation. Research informantsincluded the principal, teachers, and students involved in deep learning-basedlearning. Data analysis was conducted using a triangulation model of datareduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that theprincipal implemented transformational and collaborative leadership thatfocused on developing a digital-based vision, technology literacy training forteachers, and providing supporting infrastructure. The implementation of deeplearning increased interactivity, personalized learning, and enabled moreeffective monitoring of student learning progress. Despite constraints on initialteacher competencies and limited infrastructure, the principal's supportaccelerated adaptation and increased teacher and student motivation. Thus,optimizing principal leadership is a key factor in the successful integration ofdeep learning to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a technology-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum model to enhance students' 21st-century skills. These skills including creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication are essential in preparing students for the demands of the digital era and global workforce. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) model, the curriculum was designed, implemented, and evaluated in several high schools in North Halmahera, Indonesia. The results indicate significant improvements: creativity (30%), critical thinking (25%), collaboration (20%), and communication (22%). Students were more engaged and motivated, while teachers reported increased confidence in using educational technology. However, challenges such as time management and technological readiness were noted. Continuous training and curriculum adjustments are needed to optimize implementation. This technology-based STEAM curriculum model offers a practical and innovative approach for future-oriented education. It can serve as a strategic solution for developing holistic competencies aligned with global educational needs and digital transformation.
