Abstract

This study aims to understand the implementation of the Tahsin Al-Muyassar method in improving the Quranic reading skills of children at TPA Al-Hidayah, Desa Kedungbanteng. Using a qualitative approach, the research involved in-depth interviews with teachers and direct observations of the teaching and learning process. The collected data were analyzed to explore the experiences, challenges, and outcomes of implementing this method. The findings indicate that the Tahsin Al-Muyassar method, which emphasizes a gradual and systematic approach to tajwid and pronunciation, has a significant positive impact. Teachers reported that children showed progress in reading the Quran with more accurate tajwid and clearer pronunciation. Despite initial challenges, such as difficulties in mastering tajwid and pronunciation, the method proved effective in addressing these issues through continuous practice and an adaptive approach. Observations revealed that children became more confident and motivated in learning to read the Quran. Their experiences showed a positive change in their approach to Quranic education. The study concludes that the Tahsin Al-Muyassar method not only improves Quranic reading techniques but also contributes to enhancing children's attitudes and motivation towards learning.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the ability of students at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) IAIN Ponorogo to master Arabic as a second language through hybrid and sensory learning activities. This qualitative research with a case study type was done toward 176 students, with a sample of 20 students as the research population. The sampling technique was carried out using non-probability sampling with the snowball sampling method because the samples were taken based on the needs of this research. The research data is in the form of pronunciation of vocabulary sounds, spelling of Arabic letters, verbs and nouns, understanding the material being listened to, and reading Arabic texts of FEBI IAIN Ponorogo students in the odd semester of 2022/2023 academic year. The student reading source used in the research is the book "Al-'Arabiyyah fī Dirāsah al-Mu'āmalāt", namely the module book taught in the course "Arabic for Economics". Observation, interviews, and documentation are used to carry out data collection techniques. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, presentation, concluding, and verification. The results of the research show that the mastery of Arabic as a second language by students at the Islamic Economics and Business Faculty of IAIN Ponorogo in taking the "Arabic for Economics" course tends to be different from each other as they enter the preproduction stage of language acquisition. This means that they have not mastered much foreign vocabulary. This is caused by the educational background taken before college. Besides, another influencing factor is the neighbourhood where students live.

Abstract

This research stems from environmental problems at Arrisalah Islamic International College (Pondok Modern Arrisalah Program International), Gundik, Slahung, Ponorogo, East Java, in creating a language environment that is thought to have something to do with proficiency in Arabic language skills. This study aims to describe the relationship between the language environment and the language skills possessed by students. The type of research used in this study is quantitative with correlational methods. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and tests on 59 people. The results of this study indicate that the relationship between them is powerful and is shown by the correlation coefficient calculation that the significance value of the correlation t count (0.810) is greater than the indication value of the correlation t table (0.250). These results indicate that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) proposed is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, which means a significant relationship exists between the two variables.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of digitally differentiated Arabic language learning for students with special needs in the Integrated Islamic Elementary School at SDIT Darul Falah Sukoreo Ponorogo. It is case study research involving seven students with special needs at SDIT Darul Falah. The data collection technique uses observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn. The study results showed that Arabic at SDIT Darul Falah Sukorejo Ponorogo is a lesson within the framework of an informal curriculum that must be taught to regular students and students with special needs. Second, the Arabic learning methodology for students with special needs focuses on the self-esteem approach, which aims to increase student confidence, which can affect Arabic's motivation and learning outcomes. Third, Digital Differentiated Arabic Language Learning for students with special needs uses more digital media such as audio-visual media, animated graphics, and educational and social media; this effort is carried out on the principle of second language learning (B2), which must involve the needs of students, especially students with special needs. Digitally differentiated Arabic learning has shown its effectiveness in improving the quality of learning. This digital media can help students with special needs to understand and interact with Arabic more easily. Teachers at SDIT must be trained to use the self-esteem approach and digital technology to learn Arabic. This is so teachers can effectively teach students with special needs.

Abstract

The formation of Qur’anic character from an early age is a noble ideal in Islamic education, pursued by educators, parents, and religious institutions alike. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, aiming to explore the role of a thematic Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik/KKNT) in strengthening Qur’anic values among children at TPA Baitul Hasanah in Luan Sorip Village, Central Simeulue District, Simeulue Regency, Aceh Province. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving students, teachers, and local community figures, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that despite limited teaching resources and traditional learning methods, the implementation of a contextual and participatory teaching model—emphasizing affective, cognitive, and spiritual aspects—significantly enhanced the children’s Qur’an reading skills and their understanding of its moral values. The program fostered a lively and engaging learning atmosphere, supported by community collaboration and creative activities. It concludes that thematic community service programs can play a pivotal role in revitalizing Islamic education in rural areas by integrating academic knowledge with real-world community engagement.

Abstract

Abstract The teachings of Durūs al-Lughah al-'Arabiyah are found in many Modern Universities as a teaching foundation for developing the four language skills. Students need this teaching to know about Arabic. This study aims to determine: (1) The condition of speaking skills in the first grade before learning Durusul lughah al-'Arabiyah, (2) The Teaching System of Durūs al-Lughah al-'Arabiyah in class, (3) The effect of teaching Durūs al-Lughah al-'Arabiyah 'Arabiyah on speaking skills and the results of the correlation between the two. The approach used in this research is quantitative. The population is 49 students of the first-grade students of the Ar Risalah Ponorogo Islamic Boarding School, while the sample is taken using random sampling. Data collection techniques uses observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis uses Product Moment Correlation. The results of the study are: 1) Before the students learn Durusul Lughah, many do not know or understand Arabic and how to give answers when they are questioned about things in Arabic. 2) Learning Durusul Lughah in this pondok uses the behavioral method where students are required to memorize vocabulary and use Arabic with simple vocabulary. 3) Based on the product-moment correlation calculations, it was found that there was a relationship between the teaching of Durusul Lughah and its efficiency towards the speaking skill of the first grade students of the Ar Risalah Ponorogo Islamic Boarding School. The correlation value was 0.718 which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. In other words,  there is a relationship between Durusul Lughah learning and speaking skills of female students of class 1 at Ar Risalah Islamic Boarding School Ponorogo. Abstract

This study critically evaluates the implementation of the Activity-Based Learning (ABL) model in teaching Arabic paragraph writing to Arabic as a Foreign Language (AFL) students, as presented in the work of Sathikulameen et al. (2023) published in Ijaz Arabi. Adopting a qualitative library research approach, this study analyzes previously published materials, focusing on the ten-stage ABL writing framework used at The New College, Chennai, India. Data were obtained through document analysis and examined using interpretive content analysis to assess the instructional and pedagogical design. Three key critiques emerge from the Montessori perspective. First, the model overlooks psycholinguistic foundations by failing to prioritize vocabulary comprehension. Second, the linear writing process lacks sufficient repetition, a core component for skill acquisition. Third, the ABL approach restricts student autonomy in idea development and topic selection, contrary to Montessori principles of learner independence. The study concludes that the ABL model should be revised by integrating Montessori-informed practices to promote a more student-centered and developmentally appropriate approach to Arabic writing instruction for AFL learners.
