Abstract

Religious moderation is essential for promoting harmony among religious communities in Indonesia. Principals play a crucial role in integrating this principle into school environments. This study aims to examine how the principal of MAN 1 Garut applies religious moderation through his leadership. A descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach was used, with data collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings reveal that the principal applies three stages in promoting religious moderation. The first stage is planning, which is carried out collectively with school staff and stakeholders. The second stage is implementation, where the principal employs a transformational leadership style, focusing on inspiration, empowerment, and providing exemplary behavior to the school community. The third stage is supervision, which involves evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of the religious moderation program. Despite these efforts, the study identifies challenges, particularly from students who exhibit critical thinking regarding differences in religious views. These challenges require the principal to continuously adapt strategies to foster understanding and tolerance. This study contributes valuable insights for fostering inclusive, harmonious, and tolerant education, particularly in the context of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Character education plays a central role in shaping students into individuals with integrity and competitiveness. One of the approaches used to instill character values is through the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila dan Rahmatan Lil’Alamin (P5P2RA) based on local wisdom. This study aims to examine the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of character education through P5P2RA grounded in local culture. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The study focuses on the application of character values such as faith and piety, love for the homeland, mutual cooperation, responsibility, creativity, proper manners (ta’abbud), and a dynamic and innovative attitude (tatawur wa ibtikar) within project-based learning activities that highlight local potential. The findings reveal that the implementation of P5P2RA based on local wisdom is fairly effective in developing students' character. Activities such as constructing miniature traditional houses and showcasing student work (Gelar Karya) encouraged students to collaborate, think critically, and appreciate local culture. However, the program still faces several challenges, including low active student participation in project creation, lack of enthusiasm, and limited transportation funding for field exploration activities. Nevertheless, the school has demonstrated its commitment to overcoming these obstacles by optimizing internal resources and implementing innovative strategies.

Abstract

Social media users have a great influence on their users, because the content on social media is very diverse, which is a challenge in itself, especially for students to always sort and choose the content they consume. This research uses quantitative methods. This study aims to examine the effect of the intensity of social media use on students' morals in class XI of SMAN 1 Garut. Data analysis shows that the level of social media use of students in class XI of SMAN 1 Garut is categorized as low, with a percentage of 69%, and their morals are also in the moderate category, with a percentage result of 66%. This study used a random sampling technique; the sample taken was 96 students with a significance level of 10%. After a simple linear regression analysis, a coefficient value of 0.228 was obtained, which means that the variable intensity of social media use (X) contributed 22.8% to student morale. The ANOVA test results show the F-count value of 27.811 with a significance value (sig) of 0.000 < 1.10. Thus, the results of this effect test show that the intensity of social media use has a positive effect on the morals of students in class XI of SMAN 1 Garut.   Keywords: Morals, Social Media, Students, Technology

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa kelas 2 melalui penggunaan alat peraga dikelas yaitu media papan penjumlahan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen quasi dengan desain pretest dan postest yang dilaksanakan di kelas 2 MIN 4 Garut. Teknik Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan berupa wawancara, observasi, tes, dokumentasi dan angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan berupa uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis dua sampel independent/uji t dan uji N Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan media papan penjumlahan efektif meningkatkan motivasi belajar khususnya materi mengenai penjumlahan 3 bilangan. Berdasarkan hasil uji perhitungan uji Ngain Skor motivasi belajar siswa menunjukan bahwa nilai rata-rata Ngain skor untuk kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan perlakuan pembelajaran media papan penjumlahan adalah sebesar 83.3724 atau 83 % maka termasuk dalam kategori efektif. Sedangkan untuk kelompok kontrol yang tidak diberikan perlakuan, rata-rata N Gain skor adalah sekitar 6.091 atau saat dibulatkan menjadi 6 % ini termasuk dalam kategori tidak efektif. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan daklam peningkatan motivasi belajar antara kelompok eksperimen yang menerima pembelajaran dnegan menggunakan media papan penjumlahan di bandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol yang tidak mendapatkan perlakuan.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan dalam pembelajaran IPA adalah banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi. Selain itu, guru tidak menggunakan media dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga tidak ada sesuatu yang dapat menarik minat siswa untuk belajar. Akibatnya, hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa berada di bawah rata-rata. Dengan penggunaan media diorama dapat dimanfaatkan untuk membantu meningkatkan minat siswa . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan media diorama dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa MIN 4 GARUT kelas V pada pembelajaran IPA khususnya materi siklus air. Rendahnya minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan control group desain. Sampel penelitian mencakup dua kelas, yakni kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media diorama sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran, serta kelas kontrol yang tetap menggunakan metode konvensional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket yang terdiri dari 16 pernyataan yang telah diuji validitasnya. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Rata-rata skor N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 82,61 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya mencapai 9,01 yang termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media diorama secara signifikan lebih efektif meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional.

Abstract

Rendahnya tingkat kemampuan berfikir secara kreatif dalam pembelajaran IPA banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi dan kurang semangat dalam pembelajaran IPA. Selain itu, guru menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang kurang efektif dan mengakibatkan siswa terasa jenuh. Dengan menggunakan metode edutaiment peserta didik mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kreatif. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode edutaiment terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik di kelas IV MI Al-Khoiriyyah 1. Kec. karangpawitan. Garut. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi Experimental Design. Bentuk desain yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Control Group Design. Penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, karena penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Penerapan metode edutaiment (Variabel X) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif (Variabel Y) kelas IV dalam pembelajaran ilmu pengetahuan alam (IPA). Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IV MI Al-Khoiriyyah 1 yang berjumlah 51 peserta didik, sampel yang diambil dari kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperiment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil dari kegunaan metode edutaiment untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan hasil uji N-Gain Score untuk kelas kontrol adalah 2.96 sedangkan kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai 83.06. Berdasarkan kategori efektivitas, kelompok kontrol termasuk dalam kategori kurang efektif, sedangkan kelompok eksperimen dikategorikan sebagai efektif karena memiliki nilai rata-rata di atas 70. Sehingga metode edutaiment berpengaruh signifikansi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berfikir kreatif peserta didik di kelas eksperimen

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of the Merdeka Student Exchange Program (PMM) in improving the communication and collaboration skills of Islamic Education (PAI) students at Garut University. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews and questionnaires via google form, observation, and documentation. This research was limited to 19 students of the Islamic Education Study Program who had participated in the PMM program and the Head of the Islamic Education Study Program as well as lecturers at the Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training, Garut University. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation in narrative form, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) program was implemented as part of the Merdeka Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) policy to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia, provide opportunities for students to study in different environments and broaden academic and social horizons. Through interactions with local students and activities such as group discussions, presentations, and the Nusantara Module, PAI students experienced a significant improvement in communication and collaboration skills, as well as an increase in the number of students who participated in the program.

Abstract

This study presents a narrative review of digital pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning, focusing on how emerging tools and pedagogical strategies influence higher education. The review analyzes both opportunities and challenges of integrating digital technologies into teaching and learning. A systematic methodology was applied, drawing on peer-reviewed literature indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, with keywords such as digital pedagogy, technology-enhanced learning, artificial intelligence in education, AR/VR in education, and digital divide. The inclusion criteria covered empirical studies, reviews, and case studies published between 2015 and 2025. The results highlight that artificial intelligence supports personalization and predictive learning outcomes, while augmented and virtual reality enhance student motivation and comprehension through immersive experiences. Teacher digital competence emerged as a decisive factor for successful adoption, yet disparities remain between developed and developing contexts. Inclusive and human-centered pedagogy plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable access, particularly for learners with diverse needs. Despite these benefits, systemic barriers such as infrastructural deficiencies, insufficient professional training, and ethical concerns about data privacy continue to limit implementation. To address these issues, the discussion emphasizes the importance of supportive policy frameworks, collaborative partnerships, and targeted investments. Future research should explore longitudinal and comparative perspectives to understand the long-term impact of digital pedagogy across diverse contexts. Overall, the findings stress the urgency of developing inclusive and sustainable strategies to ensure technology reduces, rather than deepens, educational inequities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of the Islamic Religious Education Empowered Teachers in improving students' learning abilities at SMP Negeri 1 Garut, Indonesia. Using a phenomenological qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with one Islamic Religious Education teacher and five students. The findings of the study show that the teacher plays an important role in creating a religious and supportive school environment through various spiritual programs, such as Dhuha prayers, routine Qur'an recitation, and congregational Zuhur prayers. Additionally, the teacher introduced an innovative environmental initiative, the "school waste collection movement," which encourages students to bring home at least one piece of trash every day to foster a sense of responsibility for environmental cleanliness. The teaching strategy applied reflects a holistic approach that assesses students' knowledge, attitudes, and skills, while also involving collaboration with other Islamic Religious Education teachers and the wider school community. Despite facing internal challenges, such as maintaining motivation and emotional stability, as well as external challenges such as low learning motivation and limited basic skills among students, the teacher is able to overcome these obstacles through reflective, empathetic, and collaborative approaches. This study concludes that the teacher's diverse contributions not only improve the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning but also support the overall development of students, demonstrating that religious education can have a broader impact on character development and environmental awareness.

Abstract

This study presents a narrative review of educational leadership in crisis contexts, with particular attention to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to identify leadership strategies that supported institutional resilience, sustained learning, and safeguarded the well-being of educators and students. Literature was collected from major academic databases, including PubMed, ERIC, Scopus, and Google Scholar, using keyword combinations such as “educational leadership,” “crisis,” “COVID-19,” and “implementation strategies.” Inclusion criteria restricted the review to peer-reviewed articles addressing leadership practices during crises, while exclusion criteria eliminated non-academic and methodologically weak sources. Selected studies included case analyses, cohort studies, and theoretical papers, which were synthesized thematically. The results reveal that transformational and adaptive leadership models were most effective in enabling institutions to respond to crises. Transformational leaders motivated and inspired staff, while adaptive leaders responded flexibly to emergent challenges. Supportive institutional environments further enhanced resilience by promoting collaboration, resource-sharing, and staff engagement. Global comparisons show that leaders in developed countries relied heavily on technological innovation and robust infrastructures, whereas leaders in developing countries focused on equity and community-based strategies to sustain access. Systemic barriers, such as insufficient resources, weak infrastructures, and bureaucratic inefficiencies, were identified as major obstacles. These findings underscore the urgency of systemic reforms and leadership development initiatives. Policy interventions should prioritize equitable funding, digital infrastructure, and training in adaptive and transformational leadership. Future research must address long-term leadership outcomes and culturally grounded practices, ensuring education systems are better equipped to withstand future crises.
