Abstract

This study aimed to design and develop a prototype of an Arduino-based automatic ablution faucet to minimize water consumption and promote sustainable resource use in worship facilities. This study employed an engineering research approach using a prototyping method that included system analysis, hardware and software design, prototype construction, and performance evaluation. The developed system integrates a proximity sensor to automatically control the opening and closing of the faucet, a water flow sensor to measure water usage, and an LCD display to present real-time consumption data. Functional and usability evaluations were conducted according to the ISO 25010 standard through direct testing and user questionnaires involving 30 mosque congregants. The results indicated that the prototype effectively reduced water usage by an average of 44.03% compared to manual faucets, achieved a 100% functionality score from expert assessments, and received a usability rating of 87.8%, classified as “very effective.” These findings demonstrate that the system performs accurately, efficiently, and conveniently for small-scale mosques. The novelty of this research lies in combining the ISO 25010-based quality evaluation with a real-time monitoring system to ensure measurable performance and reliability. This innovation contributes to the advancement of intelligent water-saving technologies and supports environmental conservation through the integration of automation, sustainability, and user-centered design in the context of Islamic practices.

Abstract

Based on (Aulia Ryza Aqilla, 2024) previous statement, utilizing renewable energy sources has been increasingly recognized as a trend, this particularly concerning the economic issues faced by the Indonesian population. A green economy involves the adoption of more environmentally friendly energy sources to support citizen’s livelihood. Several areas in Indonesia have begun implementing renewable energy technology, such as solar energy (PLTS), to enhance the life quality for their citizen. PKBM Ingin Maju has become a partner embraced in this program to enhance their knowledge and awareness among the community about transitioning to renewable energy through the planning and implementation of small-scale solar power plant (PLTS). The mentoring activities include presentations on the role and benefits of renewable energy as an alternative to commercial energy sources, which still far short of meeting resident’s energy needs. At the end of the community service program, evaluation showed that most participants were previously unaware of this technology and expressed their willingness to start implementing PLTS at their households.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Komunitas (PKM) ini menjalin kemitraan dengan SMK Negeri 1 Tinambung. Permasalahan yang ada meliputi kurangnya pengetahuan guru tentang konsep kutipan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah, keraguan guru dalam menyusun sumber bacaan sebagai referensi untuk penelitian, pelaksanaan sistem kutipan yang selama ini masih manual, serta guru yang belum terampil menggunakan aplikasi untuk membuat referensi secara otomatis. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah menciptakan karya ilmiah yang lebih sistematis dan kohesif dalam mencantumkan sumber referensi dengan menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley. Metode yang digunakan mencakup ceramah, demonstrasi, diskusi, tanya jawab, dan pendampingan kepada mitra. Hasil yang dicapai antara lain mitra mengetahui konsep pengutipan dalam karya ilmiah, memiliki keterampilan untuk menulis sumber referensi secara tepat, mampu menggunakan teknologi yang berkembang, terutama dalam menulis referensi secara otomatis, dan guru memiliki keterampilan menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley dalam menulis karya ilmiah.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini merupakan respon terhadap tantangan kompetensi pemrograman di kalangan siswa SMK Negeri 4 Gowa, khususnya dalam penguasaan perangkat lunak MATLAB. Kendala utama yang dihadapi meliputi aspek teknis seperti keterbatasan fasilitas komputer berlisensi dan kompetensi pengajar di bidang pemrograman, serta aspek non-teknis seperti rendahnya minat belajar dan alokasi waktu kurikuler yang terbatas. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan interaktif (pengenalan antarmuka, sintaks dasar, praktik, dan proyek kecil). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dalam menggunakan MATLAB untuk menyelesaikan masalah sederhana, terbentuknya modul pembelajaran, dan terjalinnya kolaborasi antara universitas dan SMK. Dampak dari pelatihan ini adalah meningkatnya motivasi siswa terhadap bidang STEM dan tersedianya sumber belajar berkelanjutan.Kata kunci: MATLAB, Pemrograman Dasar, SMK, Pelatihan, Kompetensi

Abstract

Traditional milkfish pond management by the Sinar Bonto Manai Farmer Group in Pangkep Regency faces two main problems: difficulties in accurately monitoring water quality and limited electricity access, which hinders technology adoption. This community service program aimed to address these issues through the implementation of appropriate technology. The implementation method was designed participatively in four stages: (1) preparation and capacity building through training and seminars, (2) implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based water quality monitoring system integrated with a Solar Power Plant (PLTS), (3) mentoring on data utilization, and (4) evaluation. The results showed 100% partner participation with a significant increase in knowledge, with overall understanding rising from 33% in the pre-test to 95% in the post-test. The IoT-PLTS monitoring system, accessible via a smartphone application, was successfully installed and operated properly. Final evaluation revealed not only high partner satisfaction with the system’s functionality but also tangible improvements in pond productivity, including reduced risk of failure and more stable harvest outcomes. The main achievement of this program is the successful adoption of technology that transformed farmer’s work patterns from traditional intuition-based practices to proactive, data-driven management, thereby enhancing resilience and economic potential in milkfish aquaculture.

Abstract

Keterampilan pemrograman, khususnya penguasaan tools komputasi seperti MATLAB, menjadi kebutuhan mendasar dalam menghadapi tantangan Revolusi Industri 4.0. Namun, SMK Negeri 4 Gowa menghadapi kendala seperti keterbatasan akses perangkat lunak berlisensi, kurangnya tenaga pengajar yang kompeten di bidang pemrograman Matlab, dan rendahnya minat siswa. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pemrograman dasar MATLAB siswa. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan participatory action research yang terdiri dari lima tahap: (1) Sosialisasi dan Koordinasi Awal, (2) Pelatihan Berbasis Kompetensi dengan pendekatan blended learning, (3) Penerapan Teknologi dan Inovasi melalui proyek nyata, (4) Pendampingan dan Evaluasi Komprehensif, dan (5) Strategi Keberlanjutan. Peserta berjumlah 25 siswa dari jurusan Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan dan Listrik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep dasar dari 45% menjadi 82%, kemampuan praktik coding dari 38% menjadi 76%, dan pemahaman aplikasi industri dari 28% menjadi 68%. Luaran dari kegiatan ini berupa peningkatan kapasitas SDM mitra, modul pelatihan, dan video tutorial. Disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi dan motivasi siswa. Untuk keberlanjutan, disarankan pendampingan berkelanjutan dan pengajuan lisensi MATLAB edukasi untuk sekolah.
