Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of change management in character education at MAN 1 Yogyakarta, focusing on developing skilled individuals with leadership qualities and the ability to tackle global competition challenges. In the current evolving landscape, where global competition has intensified, students in Indonesia are facing demanding requirements. This research is a case study using a qualitative descriptive method. Besides academic excellence, students also need to possess "soft skills" and "hard skills" that are essential for keeping up with the times. Soft skills such as communication, leadership, and teamwork are crucial in a collaborative work environment. On the other hand, hard skills such as technological proficiency and foreign language skills provide the necessary competitive advantage. To meet these demands, Indonesian education needs to focus on developing both foundational aspects and specific expertise. MAN 1 Yogyakarta recognizes this need and has taken steps to prepare its students according to the required standards of change. They implement programs such as basic leadership training (LDK) and establish a special student organization called OSAKA (Organisasi Siswa Madrasah Aliyah Program Keagamaan) to enhance students' leadership skills, discipline, and sense of responsibility. This activity is a flagship program aimed at enhancing students' abilities in communication, discipline, and leadership. There are also by participating in clubs and organizations such as the Intra-School Student Organization (OSIS), Indonesian Red Cross Youth (PMR), Islamic Spiritual (ROHIS), Scouts, and scientific clubs, students also learn the importance of responsibility and discipline in fulfilling their roles within these organizations.

Abstract

The mosque is a place of worship for Muslims that has a strategic role in the advancement of Islamic civilization. History has demonstrated the multifunctional roles of mosques. Mosques are not only places for performing prayers but also serve as centers for education, religious study, military training, and various socio-economic functions. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) exemplified the multifunctional nature of mosques. To date, family education programs have been implemented by the government, and society continues to develop models of harmonious family education through various media, including mosques. The purpose of this research is to describe the role of the mosque in educating harmonious families at Jogokariyan Mosque. The focus of this research is the Jogokariyan Mosque in Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta, which, according to the author, has implemented efforts towards harmonious family education. This research is categorized as qualitative research with its inherent characteristics. The data collection methods used include interviews, observations, and document studies. To analyze the collected data, this research employs qualitative data analysis with the following steps: a) data reduction, b) data display, and c) conclusion drawing and verification. Abstract

This article aims to investigate and elaborate on key concepts in Islamic psychology, focusing on fithrah (nature), aql (intellect), nafs (self), and qalb (heart). As a primary concern, this research seeks to understand the interconnection between these four concepts and how their influence shapes human behavior and spiritual growth in the context of Islam. The research methodology involved an in-depth literature analysis of Islamic theological and philosophical sources. This approach allows researchers to explore the roots of thought and scholars' interpretations of fithrah, aql, nafs and qalb. Furthermore, this approach provides insight into how these concepts are applied in everyday life, especially in the context of education and personal development. The research findings indicate that fithrah, as inherent to human nature, plays a crucial role in guiding individuals toward spiritual and moral awareness. Aql, as a gift from Allah, grants humans the ability to think and understand, paving the way for the pursuit of knowledge and understanding of God. Nafs, as the internal dimension of humans, play a central role in self-development, understanding emotions, and maintaining a balance between worldly desires and spiritual aspirations. Qalb, or the heart, is considered the center of spirituality and moral values, requiring care to remain pure and draw closer to Allah. This article explores the implications of Islamic psychology concepts in the context of education and personal development. This research can serve as a foundation for the development of sustainable psychological approaches to holistically explore human potential, creating a balance between physical and spiritual dimensions. The final conclusion emphasizes the importance of integrating fithrah, aql, nafs, and qalb to shape a balanced and responsible human personality from an Islamic perspective.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of e-learning media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SDN Somoitan from a neuroscience perspective. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews, classroom observations and supporting documents. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive approach to illustrate the impact of e-learning on students' cognitive functions, particularly in the context of neuroplasticity, attention, and memory retention. The findings reveal that e-learning media incorporating visual and auditory elements positively impacts student participation. The use of videos, animations, and interactive quizzes helps students better understand the material, aligning with neuroplasticity principles that demonstrate the brain's ability to adapt through diverse learning experiences. However, the study also identifies challenges in implementing e-learning, including technological infrastructure limitations, such as unstable internet connections, and teachers' competency in integrating technology into the learning process. Despite these challenges, the school has made efforts to improve infrastructure and provide training to teachers to enhance their technical skills. This study offers valuable insights into how e-learning media can be optimized to improve student learning outcomes and provides strategic recommendations to address existing barriers. The study concludes that, despite the challenges, the effective implementation of e-learning media can have a significantly positive impact on the quality of education at SDN Somoitan.

Abstract

The stories within the Qashash al-Qur'an are incredibly captivating and leave a profound impression on those who contemplate them. Stories that carry profound wisdom have a remarkable ability to capture attention and stimulate the mind. Children enjoy listening to these stories as they embrace the values of Islamic education without feeling coerced. Examples include the stories of the prophets and narratives of past individuals, from which wisdom and lessons can be extracted from their life journeys. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this article seeks to explore this phenomenon. It argues that in order to instill these important values within the souls of young children, an effective educational method is through the study of hypnoparenting from a neuropsychological perspective. As children prepare for sleep, their brain waves transition from beta to alpha, allowing information and messages conveyed during this time to be stored in their subconscious. The data and information embedded within the subconscious mind will subsequently influence the child's thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in the future.

Abstract

The current concept and implementation of education in Islam so far has not shown excellence in solving community problems in an applicative-operational manner. This is because Muslims are often trapped in dichotomous thinking distinguishing Islamic knowledge from non-Islamic knowledge. Islamic education is only considered as related to “hereafter world” which only regulates theoretical relationships. The worldly problems are considered not too important, which ultimately makes Islamic education stresses more on religious sciences. This in turn creates a very wide gap because education in Islam is focused on revelation. As a result, Islamic education has not been able to get involved in the contemporary social and humanist realm. Against this backdrop, it seems that there is a pressing need to reexamine the concept of education in Islam to make it more empowering, critical, and creative. The book entitled “Rereading the Concept of Education in Islam” written by Dr. Hujair AH Sanaky, MSi is one of the attempts to re-examine the concept of education in Islam by dismantling the dichotomy between Islamic education and education and offering a design of education in Islam that is more integrative and responsive to the demands of changing societies and times.

Abstract

Science education in elementary schools often encounters challenges related to technological accessibility, particularly when integrating digital tools such as Quizizz for assessment. Institutional policies, including restrictions on mobile phone usage, are typically implemented to maintain student concentration and prevent technological distractions. While shifting students' mindset toward new learning methods can be challenging, school support can foster a high-quality learning environment that benefits all students. This study aims to explore the implementation and impact of the Quizizz game on students' anxiety levels during elementary science evaluations. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group approach, data were collected through questionnaires involving all 43 sixth-grade students. The results indicate that the use of Quizizz as a learning evaluation tool significantly improved student engagement in the experimental group. Overall, 52% of the experimental group fell into the "Moderate" anxiety category, compared to 73% in the control group. The analysis also revealed a significant difference in anxiety levels between the two groups, demonstrating that Quizizz effectively reduces student anxiety during evaluations. These findings highlight the potential of Quizizz as an innovative tool to enhance learning experiences and lower anxiety in classroom assessments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze global trends in learning media research in supporting the achievement of quality education in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Using a bibliometric analysis method, this study examines 13,246 publications from 2000 to 2024 obtained through the Dimensions database. The article selection process uses the PRISMA method, focusing on publications relevant to the keywords "Learning Media" and "Quality Education". The findings reveal a significant increase in the number of publications and citations related to learning media, especially during the 2019-2022 period, driven by the need for online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Collaborative network analysis among researchers reveals the existence of major collaboration groups, with several key researchers significantly contributing to the development of this topic. The co-occurrence visualization of terms also identifies three main themes in learning media research: learning outcomes, learning activities, and technology-based media development. This study highlights the critical role of learning media in supporting quality education and its contributions to other SDG goals, such as innovation and reducing educational access inequality. The implications of these findings emphasize the need for further in-depth research on the long-term impact of learning media and the importance of sustainability and accessibility of such media to achieve inclusive and equitable education.
