Abstract

Historical Study of Pegayaman Village, Buleleng, Bali This journal examines the origin of Pegayaman Village, Buleleng, Bali, through a conceptual study of its history. This research is motivated by the lack of conceptual understanding of village history for the younger generation and the need for regeneration of local historians. The exploratory qualitative research method was applied with a focus on Banjar Dinas Barat Jalan, Pegayaman Village. Primary data was obtained through interviews and direct observations, while secondary data was obtained through observation and interviews with the main source. The results of the study show that the origin of Pegayaman Village is divided into 5 phases: 1. Threat and Conflict Phase: Pegayaman Village became a fortress for the defense of the Buleleng Kingdom from the attacks of the southern kingdom. 2. Recruitment Phase of 100 Muslim Laskar Blambangan: The Kingdom of Buleleng received the assistance of 100 Muslim Laskar from Blambangan to guard its territory. 3. Appreciation Phase with the Handover of Gatep Forest: Muslim soldiers were given gatep forest land as a form of appreciation for their services. 4. Phase of Naming the Area into Pegayaman Village: The name "Pegayaman" comes from the word "gayam", referring to the gatep fruit and keris gayaman, a symbol of strength and resilience. 5. Strategic Phase of Pegayaman as a Fortress of Defense, Identity Formulation and Value Conservation: Pegayaman Village has developed into a village with 6 superior identities, such as a historical village, an old village, a warrior village, and an acculturative village. This journal concludes that Pegayaman Village has a rich and unique history, formed through the acculturation of Islamic-Hindu culture and religion. This village is a real example of tolerance between religious communities in Bali, with a rich cultural heritage and tradition as a result of the acculturation.

Abstract

The gap between hopes in developing the Al-Baghdadi studio and the policies made do not yet have equality. In the process of building a studio, it is important to create a strong foundation strategy, two of which are management and the pentahelix. In fact, the founder of the studio still doesn't know the foundation of management and the concept of the penta-helix. Previous research focused on work analysis, while this research focuses on management and the pentahelix. The aim of the research is to examine the scope of management and pentahelix of the Al-Baghdadi studio. The research was carried out in 2 locations, namely the cities of Medan and Deli Serdang. The research took place for 5 months from October-December 2021 then April-May 2023. The method used was qualitative with a case study design, data collection included participant observation, interviews and document searches, as well as data analysis techniques using data triangulation. Results of the study: 1) The Al-Baghdadi calligraphy studio only has 3 of the 8 scopes of management, namely: curriculum management which is limited to teaching with a hidden curriculum, management of students by carrying out field observation activities in competitions, and management of facilities and infrastructure in the form of study rooms as well as acrylic paint; 2) Pentahelix, Al-Baghdadi studio has collaborated on the 4 pillars of Pentahelix which have been successfully recorded, namely: academics since 2021-2023, community since 2023, government from the chairman of IKAPDA in 2019 in the form of appreciation by giving dowries for works of art, and mass media including newspapers in 2017 and television channels in 2018. This has direct implications for the studio leadership to prepare strategic decisions in building the studio, where previously the leadership was still taboo and did not know the situation of the studio. Keywords: Calligraphy, Management, Pentahelix. Abstract

This study aims to develop assessment-focused teaching materials for dual-dimensional visual works in the form of valid, practical, and effective p-books and e-books for the Department of Fine Arts. Employing the R&D method with the 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate), the research used a Likert scale questionnaire as the instrument, with data analysis techniques covering validity, practicality, and effectiveness assessments. The study results indicated that the teaching materials, both p-books and e-books, were highly valid with an average score of 87.8%. Furthermore, these materials proved to be highly practical for students in Shape Drawing, Illustration Drawing, Visual Communication Design (DKV), Graphic Arts, and Sketching courses, with a practicality score of 84.16%. They were also deemed effective, as students’ activities (such as reading modules, asking and answering questions, and completing assignments) resulted in an effectiveness score of 85.41%. Thus, the teaching materials are confirmed to be valid, practical, and effective for application in the specified Fine Arts courses.

Abstract

This study explores how the concept of positive education is perceived and implemented by leaders and teaching staff at the non-formal educational institution Edufic. Positive education integrates the principles of positive psychology into the learning process to enhance students’ well-being, learning motivation, and academic achievement. Using a qualitative ethnographic design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation and then analyzed using Spradley’s model, which includes semantic, domain, taxonomic, componential, and thematic analyses. Data validity was ensured through triangulation until saturation was reached. The findings revealed that positive education at Edufic is designed to develop Islamic literacy through the integration of the UK and Al-Azhar curricula, with a focus on promoting positive emotions. The concept is perceived through six main sub-domains: (1) happiness, love of learning, optimism, flow, and enthusiasm; (2) curiosity and interest; (3) support, empathy, acceptance, and appreciation; (4) purposeful and systematic behavior; (5) productivity, motivation, and success; and (6) monotheism and piety. The integration of Islamic values expands the meaning of each PERMA+I domain—Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationship, Meaning, Accomplishment, and Islamic Value through concepts such as tawhid, akhlaq, and worship. Overall, Edufic’s system does not adopt a secular view that separates knowledge from religion; rather, it integrates Islamic values as the essence of faith and moral beauty within the PERMA model. Thus, the adaptation of the PERMA+I model bridges Western positive psychology with Islamic spirituality, creating a holistic, contextual, and transcendental framework for positive education in non-formal settings.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the ability of teachers and students of SMA Negeri 1 Sipahutar in processing pineapple leaf fibers into paintings based on ecopreneurship education and equipping them to manage pineapple leaf waste independently as a medium for learning crafts. The problem faced is that the concept of ecopreneurship has not been integrated into the 2013 Curriculum so that students' work has not been oriented towards sustainability and economic value. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) model through the stages of planning, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and document studies, analyzed with the Spradley model. The results show that this program can make partners gain knowledge in exploring painting using pineapple leaf fibers based on ecopreneurship at SMAN 1 Sipahutar by utilizing animated videos and guidebooks that have been given to partners. Partners have applied independently in the classroom in processing pineapple leaf fibers into paintings in learning crafts through online training so that they have the opportunity to become jobseekers. With the online training on making pineapple leaf fiber paintings through animated videos and guidebooks, in the future partners can develop local potential to achieve the goals of craft learning with the implementation of the 2013 curriculum. The program has received a positive response from teachers and school principals regarding the idea of using pineapple leaf fiber as an exploration material in painting. This program supports the purpose of learning craft while opening up opportunities for environmentally friendly entrepreneurship in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the functional relationship of art ideology and the leadership of Didin Sirojuddin AR in the management of the Islamic Calligraphy Islamic Boarding School LEMKA Sukabumi, West Java. This study departs from the phenomenon of a gap in academic research on art specialists in pesantren, even though the work of LEMKA and Didin Sirojuddin is very significant in producing national and international calligraphers. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, open interviews, documentation, and archival studies, then analyzed using Spradley's model in four stages (domain, taxonomy, component, and event structure). The results of the study show that the art ideology embraced by Didin Sirojuddin is rooted in Islamism with the fundamental values of monotheism and taqwa. This ideology is internalized in the curriculum, work ethic, and work traditions at LEMKA. Calligraphy is seen as worship, da'wah, and a cultural medium with five primary forms of works: manuscripts, mushaf decoration, decoration, contemporary, and digital. In terms of leadership, Didin Sirojuddin applies a participatory style with a visionary and democratic orientation. This style is characterized by the team's active involvement in decision-making, a collaborative space, and persuasive communication that encourages the loyalty and creativity of students and alumni. The relationship between ideology and leadership has proven to be a key factor in the formation of effective pesantren management and a conducive learning climate. The synergy between the two results in high-quality work, competitive achievements, and a wide alumni network. This study concludes that the success of LEMKA is a combination of a strong religious ideology and transformative kiai leadership, while offering an integrative model for the development of Islamic arts education.
