Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to design a digital information medium in the form of an e-magazine that serves to document and promote the potential of Saporkren Village in Raja Ampat Regency more broadly and attractively. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The analysis stage was conducted to identify information needs, target audiences, content to be presented, and analysis of similar media. The results indicated that Saporkren Village requires a digital medium capable of systematically showcasing its marine tourism, cultural, culinary, and village profile potentials. The design stage produced an e-magazine structure consisting of a cover, introduction, table of contents, main content, and closing section. During the development stage, the product was evaluated by practitioners experienced in tourism and digital media design, resulting in feasibility percentages of 87.5% (very good category) and 71.4% (good category), respectively. Subsequently, a trial was conducted involving 35 respondents who met the criteria of never having visited Saporkren Village, aged 17–35 years, with a minimum education level of senior high school (or equivalent), and familiar with internet and digital media use. The trial results showed an average percentage score of 95.71%, categorized as very good. Based on the assessments from practitioners and trial participants, the e-magazine was declared feasible to be used as a digital information medium for Saporkren Village. This medium is expected to serve as a reference for local managers in developing digital information content and for the Raja Ampat Tourism Office in creating similar media as part of the digitalization efforts for other tourism villages.

Revenue Streams received from diving trips, certification and equipment rental. Key resources in trip diving are the underwater beauty in the form of coral reefs and their ecosystems, as well as human resources. The existing key activities are trip diving and certification, Key partnerships currently carried out are travel agents, diving equipment providers, government agencies, diving communities. Cost Structures include ship fuel, equipment and facility maintenance, staff salaries. The prototype design that was made aims to be able to add value proposition to help add value at Nukila Dive Center to add new customer segments with the output of conservation-based diving tour packages in the form of e-flyers

Abstract

Marine ecotourism in Bali is vital for integrating environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. Despite its potential, sustainability efforts face significant challenges, including coral reef degradation, coastal erosion, marine pollution, and gaps in policy implementation. This study aims to evaluate the application of the Tri Hita Karana philosophy as a holistic framework to address these challenges in Bali’s marine ecotourism sector. A literature review method was used, synthesizing peer-reviewed studies, government reports, and case examples from major ecotourism sites such as Nusa Penida and Perancak Mangrove Forest. The results demonstrate that the Tri Hita Karana philosophy effectively integrates ecological, social, and cultural dimensions. Successful initiatives include coral reef restoration and community-based conservation programs that enhance biodiversity and support local economies. However, challenges such as inconsistent policy enforcement, visitor overcapacity, and infrastructure pressures remain significant. This study concludes that adaptive management strategies, including capacity assessments, collaborative governance, and technology integration, are essential to ensure the long-term sustainability of marine ecotourism in Bali. The findings contribute to the global discourse on sustainable tourism, offering Tri Hita Karana as a model adaptable to other culturally rich and ecologically sensitive regions.

Abstract

The seagrass ecosystem has ecological and economical functions, which can provide benefits to the surrounding community as a conservation area and marine tourism. Studies on the suitability of seagrass ecosystems for marine tourism, especially snorkeling, on Tunda island are needed to support their use. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the suitability and carrying capacity of seagrass ecosystems on Tunda Island, Banten for marine tourism snorkeling. The research was conducted in March - July 2019. The research method carried out was a survey with five observation stations in the seagrass area on Tunda Island. The parameters observed are seagrass cover, seagrass type, fish type, brightness, temperature, depth, current speed, substrate type, salinity, pH, DO, facilities, and infrastructure as well as accessibility. Data analysis was performed in a comparative description between five observation stations. The result of this research showed that station 1 (in north area) and station 4 (in southeast region) had a value of the Tourism Suitability Index in the range of 73.15% - 77.78% and included in the Suitable category, which are potential stations to be developed as snorkeling marine tourism areas. The carrying capacity of the seagrass area for snorkeling tours on Tunda Island, Banten with an area of 11,197 hectares is 44 people per day. Keywords: Marine tourism, regional carrying capacity, regional suitability, seagrass, snorkeling.
