Abstract

Midwives are one of the health workers who provide child and maternal health (CMH) services and family planning. At present, most of the recording of midwife services is still managed conventionally by manual book keeping. It is less effective and efficient which causes the workload to increase, the information retrieval process is quite long and the risk of missing important data is likely to occur frequently. On the other hand, maternal patients are required to visit the midwife directly if they want to know the information on the progress of the pregnancy and their child. Based on these facts, a CMH information system was built that was accessible to midwives and parents. The information system developed consists of two integrated applications, namely web-based applications for midwives and mobile applications for parents. The web application facilitates midwives to record transactions, make reports, and deliver information to patients. While the mobile application makes it easier for parents to monitor the development of maternal and child health and other information provided by midwives. The system was developed using the water-fall software development model. The test results using the black-box test method indicate that the CMH system has been able to meet the user's functional requirements.

Abstract

Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Banyuwangi using a worksheet which can lead to error occurrences and slow decision making. A system for decision support that can improve the ranking process and quality were developed in this paper. The proposed system implemented the codeigniter framework, MySQL database, and PHP programming language. The system provided three user roles which are teacher, student, and administrator role. These four parameters are used as ranking system input, including academic values, non-academic values, violation scores, and student attendance. The ranking process was conducted by applying the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method. The developed decision support system was tested using two ways: the black box testing method and providing questionnaires. Black box testing result shows that the system has functionally worked, while user’s questionnaire gives 92,29% well accepted by users. The results show that the decision support system can help manage values and determine the parallel ranking list.

Abstract

Kaligondo Village is an area that is a center for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) engaged in the dairy farming sector in Genteng District, Banyuwangi. Where many people work as dairy farmers starting in 2001. The increasing need for fresh milk in the Banyuwangi area and the partnership between dairy farmers in Kaligondo Village and the national dairy company "Nestle" since 2012 has formed the Sumber Lumintu Livestock Farmers Group with 15 members. There are 32 female breeders with FH (Friesian Holstein) dairy cows that can produce ±400 liters of fresh milk per day. The waste generated is ± 800 kg per day. Manure waste management is generally only piled up and left alone in the yard or placed in dug holes so that the yard or cowshed looks dirty, spreads unpleasant odors, and can be a source of disease to the surrounding environment. Through this service activity, the implementing team implemented the use of cow dung to produce low-cost biogas using balloon digester. The utilization of cow dung waste shows a large enough potential for the availability of biogas to help empower the Sumber Lumintu Livestock Farmer Group, especially the need for fuel so that the financial savings made can be allocated for other economic interests. Slurry biogas can also be used as an organic fertilizer to replace chemical fertilizers

Abstract

Surface roughness determines the quality of the lathe process, while the material machining rate indicates productivity. The higher the machining rate of the material, the shorter the cutting time and the higher the productivity. In the metal cutting process, especially the lathe process, it must produce workpieces with quality that meets specifications with a short cutting time. However, this will be difficult to do because the surface roughness characteristics and machining rate of the materials are different. The lower the surface roughness value, the better the quality of the turning process results. Meanwhile, increasing the material processing rate will result in a more productive and faster turning process. To obtain output in the form of optimal surface roughness and material machining rate simultaneously, the selection of turning process parameters must be considered carefully. This research aims to obtain the right turning process parameter settings in order to obtain optimal surface roughness output and material machining rate. The optimization method used is Taguchi-Fuzzy. Based on the results of the experiment, optimization process, and analysis that were conducted, it can be concluded that the combination of process variable levels that simultaneously produce optimum arithmetic surface roughness, average total surface roughness, and material removal rate are as follows: level 1 coolant, using a cold water solvent and air pressure; level 3 spindle speed at 1200 rpm; level 3 feed rate at 0.161 mm/rev; and level 3 cutting depth at 0.5 mm

Abstract

Forest fires significantly impact the environment, carbon emissions, and public health. Ensuring the safety of forest firefighters remains a critical challenge, as they operate in high-risk environments with limited communication infrastructure. This study develops an Internet of Things (IoT)-based safety telemetry system utilizing LoRa communication to monitor firefighters’ physiological and environmental conditions in real time. The system is built on an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with sensors for body temperature, heart rate, ambient temperature and humidity, CO and CO₂ concentrations, as well as a GPS module for location tracking. Sensor data are transmitted via a LoRa SX1278 module to a Raspberry Pi–based gateway and subsequently forwarded to a cloud server for visualization and monitoring. System performance was evaluated in forested and residential environments over distances of up to 1 km. The results demonstrated an average data transmission success rate of 97% with a latency of 1.47 seconds, indicating reliable LoRa communication in areas with limited cellular network coverage. Furthermore, the sensors achieved measurement errors below 3%, while the system operated continuously for 12.5 hours with a power consumption of only 0.68 W, demonstrating high accuracy, reliability, and energy efficiency. The system also provides an early warning mechanism for hazardous conditions encountered by firefighters. User evaluations revealed an 89% satisfaction rate, particularly regarding the effectiveness of the early warning feature and overall system usability. These findings demonstrate that the proposed LoRa-based IoT telemetry system can effectively enhance firefighter safety through accurate, reliable, and energy-efficient real-time monitoring.
