Abstract

This research aims to examine the curriculum design of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in schools and madrasahs, focusing on its conceptual foundation, models, and contextual application within the socio-cultural setting of Lampung Province. The study adopts a library research approach by reviewing academic literature, books, and nationally accredited journals. The findings indicate that both schools and madrasahs share a common goal in developing students’ moral and spiritual character, yet differ in institutional orientation and curriculum management. Schools tend to integrate Islamic values into general subjects, while madrasahs position Islamic education as the core of the curriculum. The ideal curriculum design should be rooted in the principles of the Qur’an and Hadith, such as the command to educate with wisdom and good example (Qur’an, An-Nahl: 125), as well as the Prophet’s sayings on the significance of moral education. Thus, an integrative curriculum model that harmonizes knowledge, spirituality, and character becomes the strategic direction for PAI curriculum development in Lampung to remain responsive to local socio-cultural dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the essence, basic principles, and foundations of developing the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum within the context of contemporary education. The development of the PAI curriculum plays a crucial role in shaping students who possess strong faith, good morals, and the ability to face the challenges of the time without abandoning Islamic values. From a theoretical perspective, this research is based on the assumption that the PAI curriculum not only focuses on conveying religious knowledge but also on the internalization of spiritual and moral values throughout the entire learning process. The method employed is qualitative research with a library research approach, through the analysis of various academic literature sources, textbooks, and relevant national education regulations. The findings reveal that the essence of PAI curriculum development lies in the effort to integrate divine values with the social and contextual needs of students. Its principles emphasize a balance between aspects of faith, worship, and morality, as well as its relevance to advances in science and technology. The foundations of curriculum development encompass philosophical, psychological, sociological, and theological aspects that are interconnected in determining the direction and objectives of Islamic education. These findings imply the need for a curriculum design that can adapt to social changes without disregarding transcendental Islamic values. This study recommends that future research adopt an empirical approach involving education practitioners to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing these principles in the real world, thereby making PAI curriculum development more contextual, innovative, and effective in holistically shaping students' character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengembangkan model pengembangan kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) berbasis inovasi di madrasah sebagai upaya menjawab tantangan era modern dan kebutuhan peserta didik abad ke-21. Pengembangan kurikulum PAI yang inovatif diperlukan agar proses pembelajaran tidak hanya menekankan aspek kognitif, tetapi juga mampu membentuk karakter, kreativitas, dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan dan analisis dokumen kurikulum PAI pada madrasah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kurikulum berbasis inovasi di madrasah dapat dilakukan melalui integrasi teknologi pembelajaran, penerapan pendekatan student-centered learning, serta penguatan nilai-nilai spiritual dan sosial dalam setiap komponen kurikulum. Selain itu, keterlibatan guru sebagai pengembang kurikulum dan dukungan kebijakan lembaga menjadi faktor kunci keberhasilan implementasi kurikulum yang inovatif. Dengan demikian, pengembangan kurikulum PAI berbasis inovasi di madrasah diharapkan mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang adaptif, relevan, dan berorientasi pada pembentukan insan kamil yang beriman, berilmu, dan berakhlak mulia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keyakinan diri dan kemandirian belajar dengan hasil belajar Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dan Budi Pekerti pada peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi berjumlah 290 peserta didik, dengan sampel sebanyak 74 peserta didik yang ditentukan melalui rumus Slovin. Instrumen ppenelitian yang digunakan berupa angket dan diuji menggunaka IBM SPSS 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hubungan keyakinan diri dengan hasil belajar memiliki koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,126 dengan nilai sig. = 0,286 (> 0,05). Artinya, tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara keyakinan diri dengan hasil belajar. Sedangkan hubungan antara kemandirian belajar dengan hasil belajar memiliki koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,191 dengan nilai sig. = 0,103 (> 0,05). Artinya, tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kemandirian belajar dengan hasil belajar. Kedua variabel bebas tidak berhubungan dengan variabel terikat. Bahkan arah korelasi menunjukan hubungan negatif meskipun lemah, yang berarti semakin tinggi keyakinan diri atau kemandirian belajar justru cenderung diikuti penurunan hasil belajar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering a harmonious and tolerant school environment based on religious values at SMK Negeri 1 Bakauheni. The research is grounded in the growing importance of promoting religious tolerance within Indonesia’s multicultural society, particularly in schools where students from diverse religious backgrounds interact daily. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this study explores in depth the experiences, perceptions, and social dynamics surrounding the internalization of tolerance values among students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and literature review. The findings reveal that PAI educators play a strategic role in integrating tolerance values into classroom learning by strengthening Islamic teachings on peace, justice, and respect for diversity. Teachers employ dialogical, integrative, and participatory methods to encourage students to understand and practice tolerance in real-life contexts. However, several challenges were identified, including differences in religious understanding, limited interfaith interaction, and the negative influence of social media, which can lead to intolerant attitudes. Furthermore, PAI teachers act as agents of change by providing moral exemplification, creating safe spaces for dialogue, and building an inclusive learning environment. The study emphasizes that the successful development of tolerance greatly depends on teacher competence, effective learning strategies, and school support through programs that promote humanistic and diversity-based values. Overall, this study concludes that a comprehensive, humanistic, and contextually relevant PAI implementation can effectively cultivate a culture of tolerance in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif pendekatan Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (PjBL) dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMK Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung dalam meningkatkan kemampuan belajar mandiri siswa. Kurangnya minat, dorongan, dan kemandirian siswa dalam belajar merupakan faktor utama yang berkontribusi terhadap permasalahan penelitian ini, terutama pada aspek "inisiatif dan kreativitas" yang proporsinya paling rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental dengan kelompok kontrol yang hanya berpartisipasi dalam post-test. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan basic random sampling, satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol dipilih secara acak. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner kemandirian belajar dengan 15 pertanyaan valid dan koefisien reliabilitas yang kuat (α = 0,785). Dibuktikan dengan perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik antara kedua kelompok, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PjBL secara signifikan meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa. Inisiatif, tanggung jawab, dan keberanian siswa dalam mencoba hal-hal baru kelemahan yang terbukti dapat diperbaiki oleh PjBL telah diidentifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil ini, pembelajaran berbasis proyek mendorong sikap yang fleksibel, kolaboratif, dan kreatif, yang penting bagi kemampuan abad ke-21, selain meningkatkan kualitas kognitif

Abstract

The increasingly complex global environmental crisis has not only resulted in ecological degradation but also reflects a weakening of the moral and spiritual relationship between humans and nature. From an Islamic perspective, various studies emphasize the importance of integrating theological values, the principles of maqāṣid al-shari‘ah, and fiqh methodology as an ethical foundation for environmental stewardship. This study aims to develop an integrative model of Islamic environmental jurisprudence (fiqh al-bi’ah) that combines theological dimensions, the maqaṣid framework, and contemporary fiqh methodologies, thereby providing both normative and operational foundations for public policy and socio-ecological practices within Muslim communities. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research. Primary data consist of Qur’anic verses, hadiths, classical and modern scholarly works, and fatwa documents particularly Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) Fatwa No. 86 of 2023. Secondary data include books, scientific articles, and research reports related to environmental fiqh. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using content analysis involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Islamic theological principles offer a strong moral foundation for environmental preservation through the concepts of tawḥid, amanah, khilafah, and mizan. Meanwhile, maqaṣid al-shari‘ah effectively expands the objectives of Islamic law to include ḥifẓ al-bi’ah (environmental protection), thus granting strong legal legitimacy to ecological preservation. The study also reveals that environmental fiqh still faces methodological fragmentation and lacks integration within operational legal frameworks. It concludes that an integrative eco-fiqh model that combines theology, maqaṣid, and contemporary fiqh methodology is essential for responding comprehensively to ecological crises and for strengthening the implementation of Sharia-based policies in education, fatwa development, and socio-environmental practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on students’ learning motivation in the Aqidah Akhlak subject. This research is motivated by the low level of students’ learning motivation, which is caused by the use of less varied instructional models and the lack of integration between learning materials and students’ real-life experiences, resulting in less meaningful learning. Therefore, instructional innovation is needed to enhance students’ learning motivation, namely through the implementation of the CTL model. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two classes: class X-B as the experimental group and class X-A as the control group at MA Al-Hikmah Bandar Lampung. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire that had met validity and reliability requirements, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.650. Data analysis included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and an Independent Samples t-test. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference in learning motivation between the experimental and control groups. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the CTL learning model assisted by instructional videos is able to create more contextual, relevant, and meaningful learning, thereby increasing students’ learning motivation. The implications of this study suggest that the CTL model assisted by instructional videos can be used as an effective alternative instructional strategy in Aqidah Akhlak learning to enhance students’ learning motivation; therefore, this research is important to be conducted.
