Abstract

Amphibians are an element of the ecosystem and part of the biodiversity that inhabits various habitats, thus becoming one of the groups of animal taxa commonly used as an indicator of environmental conditions. South Central Timor Regency has the potential as a natural habitat for amphibians because:has a temperature that ensures the growth and reproduction of amphibians. However, data on amphibian research is still very limited. This study aims to identify and identify diversity of amphibians of the order anura in the Bu'at-So'e Research Forest Area. The data collection method used in this study is a Visual Encounter Survey combined with a line transect. Data collection is done by making an observation path then repeated 3 times on each path. The data obtained were analyzed using the Shannon Wiener Index, species evenness, species richness, relative abundance, dominance and vegetation analysis. The results of the study found 134 individuals of amphibians consisting of 5 families and 7 species. The results showed that the species diversity index was in the medium category and the evenness, richness and dominance index were in the low category. This condition explains that, at the time the research was conducted, the habitat in the Bu'at-So'e Research Forest area was still guaranteeing the growth and reproduction of amphibians of the order Anura

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the Diversity of Amphibian Species in Forest Areas with Special Purpose Oelsonbai, Fatukoa Village, Maulafa District, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This research was carried out in October 2021. Data collection on the diversity of amphibian species used the VES (Visual Encounter Survey) method with transects and identification methods. Analysis of amphibian species diversity data using the formula for calculating the Shannon-Wienner diversity index (H') and species evenness (E). The results of this study found 5 types of amphibians from 4 families with a total of 158 individuals. family Bufonidae (1 species), family Dicroglossidae (2 species), family Rhacophoridae (1 species), and family Microhyladee (1 species). The diversity of amphibian species in KHDTK Oelsonbai line A (H'=1.27) while the diversity value in line B (H'=1.34). The diversity of the two paths is categorized as moderate. Physical characteristics such as air temperature, water temperature, and relative air humidity in KHDTK show values that are suitable for amphibian life in general. Water temperature ranged from 26.5° to 30°C and air temperature ranged from 26° to 28°C while relative humidity ranged from 77% to 80% with a pH of 7.8 to 8.0.

Abstract

This study aims to determine types of soil macrofauna and analyze the diversity and similarity of soil macrofauna contained in homogeneous and heterogeneous forest habitat. This research has been done in the Sisimeni Sanam Education and Training Forest Area, in Silu Village, Fatuleu District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is descriptive quantitative using the exploratory method. Observations were carried out through pitfall trap and hand sorting. The data to be analyzed is related to the diversity index (H') and the Similarity Index (IS). Analysis of data using Microsoft Excel and Past3 applications. The results showed that types of soil macrofauna in Forest Areas Education and Training Sisimeni Sanam especially under the stands of forest habitat heterogeneous and homogeneous forest consists of 11 ordo with a total of 1,113 individuals were found. The diversity level of soil macrofauna under heterogeneous and homogeneous forest habitat stands at 1.71063 and 0.55568. The level of similarity between soil macrofauna under heterogeneous forest habitat stands is high with an average value of 62.406%.

Abstract

This research has been carried out in Saga Village, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province in July-August 2023. This study aims to determine the relationship between local wisdom and nature conservation in Saga Village in maintaining forest sustainability. The method used in this study is the descriptive method. The data in this study was collected through observation, interview and documentation techniques directly in the field using the snowball sampling method in order to obtain information and obtain appropriate and accurate data. The results of research on local wisdom as a prevailing view of life in the people of Saga Village affect the preservation of forests that are useful from generation to generation where there are customs and customs that prevail today. The prevailing tradition is Pire which states several rules that must be obeyed by all villagers and other buffer villages of Kelimutu National Park. The applicable prohibitions must not be violated, if violated, they will be subject to customary sanctions given by traditional elders or called Mosalaki. The Saga Village community also carries out conservation activities that help the Kelimutu National Park which participates in reforestation, protects springs, conducts area security or patrols with the Fire Care Community (MPA), conducts biophysical inventory by recording the potential in forest areas, checks springs in forest areas and the potential of flora and fauna.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Tadho Village, Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve Area, Riung District, Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, from July to August 2023. This study aims to identify the types of plants that have the potential as a source of food. Knowing the behavior of Long-tailed Monkeys in the Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve Area. The method used in this study was the Focal animal sampling method, where observations of animal movements began in 3 periods, namely (a) period I (07.00 to 09.00 WITA), (b) period II (11.00 to 13.00 WITA) and (c) period III (15.00 to 17.00 WITA) with a time interval of 10 minutes. Observations were conducted on one individual Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis) and its behavior was followed and recorded using One Zero Sampling. One Zero Sampling is the recording of the dominant behavior within the time interval of an observation session. The results of the study found the number of plants that have the potential as a food source in the Wolo Tadho Nature Reserve area there are 15 types of plants known to be selected by long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) as food. The most dominant vegetation types are Lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala), Tamarind (Tamarindus indica L) and Mangrove (Rhizophora apiculata) and the daily behavior of long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) which is often done is moving 31%. Many behaviors were Feeding 19%, Resting 16%, Grooming 15%, Foraging 8% Playing 9%. Rare behaviors were Agression 1% and Mating 1%. While the behavior that was not seen was Object Play 0%.

Abstract

In the Kelimutu National Park area there is a tourist attraction, namely, Lake Kelimutu. The tourist attraction of Lake Kelimutu has a high beauty value, making it always crowded with tourists, both local and foreign. The presence of tourists can be a factor in the level of bird species diversity in the Kelimutu National Park area. This is because birds tend to be sensitive to human presence (Bötsch et al., 2017) so this study aims to determine the diversity of bird species in bird habitats around tourist objects. The method used in collecting data in the field is the path and point method. In data analysis, the method used is the Mackinnon's Species List method. The results of this study indicate that the presence of tourists does not affect the diversity of bird species in habitats around the Lake Kelimutu tourist area.

Abstract

Sisimeni Sanam has several problems, such as slashing, burning, and land clearing from local community. In addition, forest and land fires also occurred in Sisimeni Sanam area. This research was conducted to monitor the changes of land cover in the Sisimeni Sanam, East Nusa Tenggara Province from March to April 2022 All the data from this study was analyzed with quantitative analysis that utilizes remote sensing data so that can be interpreted satellite imagery. The method used in this research is OBIS (Object Based Image Segmentation) in order to determine the area of land cover 2021 in the Sisimeni Sanam. In 2021, the value of land cover in the Sisimeni Sanam Special Purpose Forest Area has land cover in the dense forest class of 241.03 Ha (8%), medium forest of 991.04 Ha (33%), shrubs of 1453.31 Ha (49%), and open land pad of 287.82 Ha (10%).
