Abstract

This study aims to develop Color Coding media as an instructional tool to enhance the English language skills of children aged 5–6 years at a selected early childhood education center. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology using the ADDIE model, which includes five systematic stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were kindergarten-aged children, and data were gathered using validation instruments completed by subject-matter experts in content, media, and design, alongside student-based evaluation tools. The validation process yielded results indicating a "Very Worthwhile" classification from material experts (96%), media experts (84.16%), and design experts (95.71%), suggesting no major revisions were necessary. Product trials conducted with students resulted in an average score of 83.03%, categorizing the media as "Very Feasible." These outcomes suggest that Color Coding media holds strong potential as an innovative and effective tool for improving early childhood English language proficiency, particularly in letter recognition, early writing skills, and foundational vocabulary acquisition. The practical implications of this research support the integration of visual-based media into early language curricula, offering a playful and engaging learning experience for young learners.

Abstract

Receptive language in early childhood refers to the child's capacity to hear, understand, and focus on information or to know what a word means. However, many children still struggle with poorly developed receptive language skills. This study aims to ascertain how word tree play affects the development of early childhood receptive language. The word tree game serves as the medium. This study used a pre-experimental experimental method with a pretest-posttest design of one group without the presence of a control class. The subjects of the study were as many as 20 kindergarten children in Group A (aged 4-5 years). This study uses Purposive Sampling because there is only one class. "The word tree media passed the Pretest, Treatment, Posttest, Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and Hypothesis Test in this study. A sig value of <0.001 indicates that the final result is below the significance threshold of 0.05". Ho was rejected, while Ha was accepted. With this, it can be concluded that the game of Word Tree affects the development of early childhood receptive language.

Abstract

Ecoprint batik innovates traditional batik art by using leaves, flowers, and plants to create environmentally friendly motifs. While ecoprint has typically been applied to fabric, bags, or paper, evolving creativity and lifestyle needs call for new media to enhance variety and market value. Mugs present a promising option. The Community Empowerment Partnership (PKM) program in Suci Village, Panti District, Jember Regency, aims to empower women by offering ecoprinting training on mugs using natural materials. This activity has three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. As a result, participants have improved their skills, creativity, and environmental awareness. The ecoprint batik training resulted in the creation of unique mugs featuring natural motifs from leaves and flowers, printed directly on their surfaces. The motifs vary depending on the type of leaf; for instance, teak leaves produce coarse fiber designs.
