Abstract

Understanding the psychological mechanisms that enhance job satisfaction remains a critical issue, particularly in organizational contexts characterized by high interpersonal demands. Forgiveness at work has been increasingly recognized as a positive psychological resource that may foster healthier work relationships; however, its underlying mechanism in shaping job satisfaction remains underexplored. This study aims to examine the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between forgiveness at work and job satisfaction. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 456 permanent employees of a private organization in Indonesia and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS. The findings indicate that forgiveness at work has a significant indirect effect on job satisfaction through work engagement, demonstrating a meaningful mediation relationship. These results suggest that forgiveness contributes to job satisfaction primarily by strengthening employees’ emotional and cognitive attachment to their work. The study provides theoretical insight by clarifying the psychological pathway linking forgiveness and job satisfaction, and offers practical implications for organizations seeking to enhance employee well-being through relational and engagement-based interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the dynamics of the relationship between interpersonal communication and student engagement in shaping learning motivation. A quantitative research method was employed to analyze the data. In this study, the sample consisted of 190 participants. The results show that interpersonal communication has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation. This is indicated by a coefficient value of 0.653, a t-statistic of 7.889 (> 1.653), and a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Interpersonal communication also has a positive and significant effect on student engagement, as shown by a coefficient value of 0.650, a t-statistic of 9.077 (> 1.653), and a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Student engagement, in turn, has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation. With a coefficient of 0.662, a t-statistic of 9.502 (> 1.653), and a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), it is evident that student involvement in the learning process plays an important role in enhancing learning motivation. Active student engagement enables learners to feel a stronger sense of purpose and drive in their academic pursuits. Furthermore, student engagement partially mediates the effect of interpersonal communication on learning motivation. The direct effect of interpersonal communication on learning motivation is greater (58.4%) compared to the indirect effect through student engagement (43.1%). This indicates that although student engagement serves as a mediator, the direct influence of interpersonal communication remains dominant.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Adversity Quotient on Workforce Agility with Perceived Organizational Support as a mediating variable. The proposed hypothesis is that adversity quotient affects workforce agility in civil servants with perceived organizational support as a mediating variable. The population consists of 3,083 civil servants in the Pidie Jaya Regency government environment. The sample consisted of 253 civil servants, using cluster sampling technique. This study employed a quantitative method with three scales: workforce agility scale, adversity quotient scale, and perceived organizational support scale. In this study, each variable will be analysed or CFA (confirmatory factor analysis) will be conducted with a critical loading factor value of 0.7. The hypothesis testing was carried out using SmartPLS (Partial Least Square) version 3.0 software. The results indicate that (1) there is an effect of adversity quotient on perceived organizational support among civil servants, with a t-statistic value of 47.031 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. (2) There is an effect of perceived organizational support on workforce agility among civil servants, with a t-statistic value of 20.249 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. (3) There is an effect of adversity quotient on workforce agility among civil servants, with a t-statistic value of 43.291 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. (4) There is an effect of adversity quotient on workforce agility among civil servants with perceived organizational support as a mediating variable, with a t-statistic value of 18.558 > 1.96 and a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the psychological significance of the practice of dzikir lata'if (recitation of God) in transforming the integrative consciousness of students at the Ruhul A'zam Gayo Lues Islamic Boarding School. The study employed a qualitative hermeneutic phenomenological approach with the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) method to deeply understand the participants' lived experiences. Participants consisted of one key informant and three students selected purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and reflective notes, then analyzed through the identification of meaning units, the development of emergent themes, and cross-case synthesis. The results indicate that dzikir lata'if is interpreted as a reflective-contemplative process that encourages psychological transformation in four main dimensions: emotional regulation, cognitive clarity, behavioral self-control, and the development of empathy and prosocial orientation. These changes form a pattern of integrative consciousness characterized by inner calm, self-discipline, adaptive social relationships, and an increased sense of meaning in life. These findings suggest that structured spiritual practices can function as psycho-spiritual interventions that support holistic psychological development in the context of Islamic boarding school education. Keywords: dzikir lata'if; psychological meaning; integrative awareness; interpretive phenomenology; self-regulation

Abstract

Performance is the level of success achieved by an individual in quality and quantity from task completion, aligned with job standards and organizational goals. This study examines psychological empowerment's influence on Sabhara Division personnel performance in the North Sumatra Regional Police, with self-efficacy as mediator. It employs quantitative methods and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a 279-person sample. Data sources include HR performance appraisals (June–December 2024, period II), psychological empowerment scales, and self-efficacy scales. Findings show self-efficacy is not a strong intervening variable for performance improvement among Sabhara personnel. Direct psychological empowerment enhancement yields greater effects than indirect paths. Practically, organizations should prioritize direct empowerment, supported by clear roles and structures, to boost Sabhara performance while mitigating negatives. Non-significant mediation highlights contextual factors—like organizational constraints, leadership, or resources—as key in Indonesian police contexts for linking empowerment to outcomes.

Abstract

The increasing phenomenon of turnover intention among Generation Z in Indonesia poses a challenge for organizations in retaining young and potential employees. This generation is known to be adaptive and critical, and to place work meaningfulness as an important factor in job satisfaction and organizational loyalty. This study aims to analyze the effect of meaningful work on turnover intention, with work engagement as a mediating variable among Generation Z employees in Indonesia. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 387 respondents, determined based on the Krejcie and Morgan table through convenience sampling. The research instruments included the Meaningful Work Scale adapted from Steger, Dik, and Duffy (2012), the Work Engagement Scale (UWES) from Schaufeli and Bakker (2004), and the Turnover Intention Scale from Bothma and Roodt (2013). Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0. The results indicate that meaningful work has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention (? = -0.19; p = 0.022) and a positive and significant effect on work engagement (? = 0.77; p = 0.000). Furthermore, work engagement has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention (? = -0.249; p = 0.002) and mediates the relationship between meaningful work and turnover intention (? = -0.192; p = 0.002). These findings highlight the importance of creating a meaningful work environment to enhance engagement and reduce turnover intention among Generation Z employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the direct impact of job satisfaction on individual work performance, as well as the indirect influence mediated by work-life balance. The data were collected using instruments designed to assess job satisfaction and work-life balance, while work performance data were obtained from relevant institutions. The sample was obtained through convenience sampling, yielding a total of 78 employees. The findings of this study demonstrate both direct and indirect effects of job satisfaction on work performance, although the mediator work-life balance did not exert a greater effect than job satisfaction. This study contributes to the organizational and industrial context, demonstrating that job satisfaction is a key issue that needs improvement, rather than work-life balance, which is an external issue within the organizational and industrial context. Unlike previous research that demonstrated that work-life balance plays a significant role in one's work performance, this study demonstrates that job satisfaction is far more effective in improving work performance. Limitations and recommendations are explained further in this article.

Abstract

This Study The Indonesian National Police is one of the institutions responsible for providing services to the public, so the Indonesian National Police are required to provide the best service to the community by demonstrating good, professional and reliable performance in their field. Professionalism plays a crucial role in achieving optimal performance in the Brimob Unit. This includes improving the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of Brimob members so that they are able to carry out tasks effectively, especially in high-risk situations. In addition, optimal performance in the police organisation cannot be separated from leadership factors. The study was conducted on 232 personnel. The results of the study indicate that professionalism affects performance moderated by transformational leadership. Based on the data analysis results, it was found that the fourth hypothesis was accepted. This is based on the p-value and t-statistic in the inner model analysis of the specific indirect effect output, where the p-value is 0.017 < 0.05, and the t-statistic is 2.390 > 1.96. With an effect size of 0.128 (12.8%). Alternatively, it can be seen in the comparison between the direct effect of Professionalism on Performance, which has an effect value of -0.110 (-11%), smaller than the indirect effect of Professionalism on Performance through Transformational Leadership which has an indirect effect value of 0.128 (12.8%).

Abstract

This study examines the effect of work-life balance on personnel performance and tests perceived organizational support as a moderating variable among personnel of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob), North Sumatra Regional Police. A quantitative explanatory design involved 232 respondents. Work-life balance and perceived organizational support were measured using questionnaire-based psychological scales, while performance data were obtained from official personnel records. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. Work-life balance was positively associated with perceived organizational support (β = 0.527, t = 10.612, p < 0.001) and performance (β = 0.309, t = 4.154, p < 0.001). Perceived organizational support was also positively associated with performance (β = 0.347, t = 4.389, p < 0.001). The interaction effect was positive and significant (β = 0.117, t = 2.020, p = 0.044), indicating that organizational support strengthens the positive relationship between work-life balance and performance. The findings underscore the importance of workload management, recovery opportunities, supportive leadership, and personnel well-being in high-demand police work.
