Abstract

Family Planning (Keluarga Berencana/KB) is closely related to reducing Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). MMR is maternal death during pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium. Reproductive behavior is a contributor to MMR in this case the 4Ts: too many pregnancies, too close distance, too young, and too old. The 2012 Demographic and Population Survey showed that around 32.5 percent of MMR occurred as a result of giving birth too old and too young, and around 34 percent due to too many pregnancies (more than 3 children). East Sumba Regency MMR in the last 5 years is quite high, number 1 or 2 is the highest in NTT Province after TTS. To determine the characteristics of maternal mortality in 2014 – 2018, pregnancy planning for mothers who died in East Sumba Regency and the relationship between maternal mortality and pregnancy planning in East Sumba Regency in 2014 – 2018. The type of research used is Analytical Descriptive Research with Cross-sectional Method. The population and sample are total maternal mortality from 2014 - 2018 which is 50 in urban and rural areas. Methods of collecting data using interviews using questionnaires to husbands/families of deceased mothers, Village Midwives and Coordinator Midwives regarding complete identity, age, education, occupation, parity, spacing of Acceptor card ownership, information obtained from the Midwife is detailed and systematic before choosing contraception. Most mothers have planned pregnancy but there is a tendency to follow the wishes of the client. Maternal mortality is not related to planning for pregnancy, but pregnant women who do not plan pregnancy well are at greater risk of death than mothers who plan to become pregnant conclusions and implications for nursing practice

Abstract

The pandemic causes the risk of gender-based violence to increase, one of which is domestic violence. It is because many women as mothers are workers, so they also have to do waiting office tasks, as well as do household work which is frequently burdened by women. Based on data from the Online Information System for the Protection of Women and Children (understood as Sistem Informasi Online Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak/SIMFONI PPA) in October 2022, 19,613 cases of violence occurred, with details of 3,164 male victims and 17,960 victims, specifically for NTT (East Nusa Tenggara) Province as many as 895 cases of violence. Percentage of Women Victims of Violence by Type of Violence in the Province of NTT of abuse 44.03%, humiliation 65.01%, harassment 7.12%, neglect 12.71%, and others 13.02%. Perpetrators 68.85% are parents and victims of violence against women 1.91% in rural areas and 2.23 in urban areas. The Research Objective is to identify the 'HeForShe'' Approach Model to the Involvement of Men in the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children in Kupang City and Kupang Regency, NTT Province in 2022. The research Method is a Mixed Method, Qualitative with Phenomenological Method and Quantitative Descriptive Survey Method. The population in the study were informants encompassing married men and women aged <55 years with the sample criteria being wife/husband status, and living together for more than 1 year. Female and male aged 18 years and unmarried, living with their parents. Religious leaders, midwives, teachers, and local government. Purposive sampling. Collecting data was performed by in-depth interviews and FGD in groups of 10-15 people, analysis was carried out descriptively, and a way ANOVA test to compare the three models. Research Results: From the 3 proposed models, it was discovered that 65 percent of respondents agreed with model 2, and the results of the one-way ANOVA test were obtained the p-value is 0.002 or smaller than alpha 5%, Conclusion: One model was obtained, namely the Network Coordination Model for the Office of Health, Education and Local Government in Empowering Youth in Primary Health Units and schools in Action to Prevent Violence against Women and Children. Recommended as one of the HeForShe models that is more appropriate to apply in the case of the Approach to the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children by involving teenagers.

Abstract

Prolonged and obstructed labor are the type of abnormal labor that may lead to maternal and fetal mortality. This study established the model for predicting prolonged and obstructed labor in East Nusa Tenggara. A health facilities-based case-control study was conducted in November 2017 among 570 women who gave birth at public health facilities in East Nusa Tenggara. Data were obtained by reviewing antenatal records, the mother's card, and partographs. In bivariate analysis, all variables with a p-value less than 0.25 determined by chi-square for categorical and independent t-test for numerical variables were included in multivariate analysis. Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS) analysis was used to establish the final prediction model. The present study found that women <22, >26, and >34, with Hb levels of <12.5 gr%, and had nulliparity or multiparity (4 times) were reported as a higher risk of prolonged and obstructed labor. Meanwhile women with a fundal height of <34 cm, a height of >156 cm and >149 cm, a history of normal labor, presentation of the fetus behind the head, gestational weight gain of <12.3 kg, and pre-pregnancy BMI of <28.9 kg/m2 were identified as factors decreasing the risk of prolonged and obstructed labor. In conclusion, significant predictors of the outcome were maternal characteristics (age, parity, height, and history of labor method), maternal nutrition status (BMI pre-pregnancy, gestational weight gain, and hemoglobin levels), and fetal status (fundal height and fetal presentation).

Abstract

Background, One of health problem in the East NusaTenggara is infant mortality rate and malnutrition are still high. The key is because mother's behavior. Infants should be have a breast milk exclusively for six months during that months babies should not get any food and only drink a breastmilk from their mother. Ideally babies get breastfeed for two years. Giving the exkusive breastfeeding is difficult to achieve it if not accompanied by husband conciousness. The husband should not get their wife into the crop when they babies was six month old yet. Thus baby can get breastfeeding and malnutrition can be pressed. In East Nusa Tenggara province prevalence of infant malnutrition reached 9,4 percent or higher than national rate that only 5,4 percent. The Successfull of breastfeeding very determined by involvement of her husband from the pregnancy until the delivery and evend during lactation. Breastfeeding is a family activity, the success of breastfeeding without father understanding of breastfeeding is 26.9 percent and the 98.1 percent breastfeeding understanding group (pediatric Cinical, 1994). Role of the father for the succesfull of breastfeeding is very huge, therefore it is necessary to provide breastfeeding education for fathers and families when antenatal care. The objective of this research is knowing knowledge and role of husband for breastfeeding succesfull in village of Amabi Oefeto, Raknamo District Of year 2011Result: There was an increase in the knowledge og husband after giving information about early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding reach 77,2 percent. Husband wife's role in helping to deliver milk to the baby after giving information and a demonstration there is an increase of 22.9 percent to 85.7 percent in the last observation. Kruskal-Wallis statistical test results on each observation from the first, second and third at 0.65, 0:13 and 0, meaning 0,00 it mean that husband's role can be increased along with the increase of knowledge and its role as the father of the early initiation of breastfeeding and the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for infants. Conclusion: there is an increase of husband knowledge about early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding after giving information and a significant increase of the role of the husband as the father on the successfull of the early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding after demonstration.
