Abstract

This study aims to analyse the structure and potential of economic sectors in Tasikmalaya Regency to identify leading sectors that can drive regional development. The method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative approach, with analysis conducted on Tasikmalaya Regency's Gross Regional Domestic Product data by business field based on constant prices (ADHK) from the Central Statistics Agency. The methods used include Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Klassen Typology, and Shift-Share Analysis (SSA). The results of the study show that the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors are still the main base sectors, while the construction, wholesale and retail trade, financial services, and education sectors are prospective base sectors for development. These sectors have a positive competitive share value, indicating a competitive advantage over the reference region. Meanwhile, the manufacturing and health services sectors show potential to develop into new leading sectors. These findings recommend that the Tasikmalaya Regency Government focus its development policies on prospective base sectors to encourage the optimisation of Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD). Strengthening leading sectors is expected to be an effective strategy in creating inclusive, sustainable, and fiscally independent regional economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and identify internal and external factors that affect village revenue with a case study of North Tasikmalaya including Sukaratu, Cisayong, Sukahening, Rajapolah, Jamanis, Ciawi, Sukaresik, Pagerangeung, and Kadipaten sub-districts. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach to primary data with data collection techniques using questionnaires. This research sampling technique uses Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The data analysis method uses the Structure Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) through 3 analyses: outer model, inner model, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that human resource capacity and government policy significantly influenced village revenue. Meanwhile, community participation, accessibility, and infrastructure do not influence village revenue. The lack of community participation is due to the community's indifference in advancing the village. Accessibility and infrastructure are also strategic issues that not all villages have adequate access and infrastructure so that regional economic development is not optimal.

Abstract

Fiscal self-reliance of local governments has become a crucial issue in Indonesia’s fiscal decentralization era, as it reflects a region’s capacity to finance development without excessive dependence on central government transfers. This study aims to analyze the effects of economic growth rate, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the industrial sector, GRDP in the agricultural sector, and regional asset values on the level of fiscal self-reliance across 100 regencies/municipalities in six major island regions of Indonesia during the 2019–2023 period. Utilizing a fixed-effects panel data regression model and comprehensive statistical diagnostics, the study controls for interregional heterogeneity to obtain robust estimates. The results show that industrial GRDP and regional asset values have a positive and significant impact on fiscal self-reliance, indicating that industrialization and optimal public asset management are key drivers in strengthening locally generated revenue. Conversely, agricultural GRDP and economic growth rate do not exhibit a significant effect, reflecting the limited capacity of these sectors in supporting local fiscal strength primarily due to the dominance of informal activities and weak fiscal integration. These findings affirm that fiscal self-reliance cannot be built solely through economic growth; rather, it requires structural transformation focused on high value-added sectors and institutional strengthening in regional asset management. Policy implications include the need to reformulate sectoral fiscal strategies and enhance asset governance as concrete steps toward sustainable and equitable fiscal decentralization.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had significant effects in many aspects, including the world of education. The changes require an adaptation to learning methods used increasing students learning motivation. In higher education, learning methods that are student centered and lecturers only serve to give instructions. Participant-centered learning (PCL) is a learning method that is suitable for use in higher education because collage students are considered participants not just students. The purpose of this research was to analyze the impact of implementing PCL in increasing motivation and learning outcomes. This research was conducted at the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Siliwangi University with 94 collage students. The data sources used were the results of the pre-test and post-test using the Kahoot! learning platform and questionnaire data using the Materials Motivation Scale (IMMS), from the control and experimental groups. In the experimental class, learning was carried out using the PCL method, while in the control class, learning was carried out conventionally or teacher-centered learning (TCL). The results of the evaluation showed that the PCL class had an average score of 47% higher than the TCL, and students' learning motivation in PCL class is also about 40% higher than students in TCL class. So it can be concluded that there is a significant increase in terms of material understanding and student learning motivation with PCL method. The learning method of PCL can be adopted to be applied in learning in higher education.
