Abstract

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic education faces a serious dichotomy due to the dominance of modern learning models that focus solely on academic intelligence, thereby neglecting spiritual, emotional, and social intelligence. This condition is contrary to the true purpose of Islamic education, which is oriented towards the development of a complete person (Insan Kamil). This study aims to analyze the urgency of integrating modern pedagogy with the fundamental values of the Quran and Hadith in order to formulate a holistic learning approach. Using the library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, this study conducts a conceptual synthesis and reviews the literature on integrative pedagogy. The analytical framework is reinforced by Amin Abdullah's concept of interconnection integration and Ismail Raji Al Faruqi's idea of Islamization of knowledge, which offer a philosophical basis for eliminating dichotomy. The results of the study show that contextualizing the values of the Quran and Hadith can strengthen the spiritual, moral, emotional, and social intelligence of students by developing the aspects of Ar Ruh, Al Qalb, Al Nafs, and Al Aql. It also improves critical thinking and social awareness. Modern learning models such as Problem Based Learning, Project Based Learning, Flipped Classroom, and Gamification become effective and religiously meaningful through this integration. The main contribution of this research is to offer a comprehensive conceptual framework for the development of an integrative Islam-based model that not only emphasizes cognitive mastery but also fosters a strong religious character. This integration is a strategic path towards a comprehensive vision of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines how Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) adherents in Minangkabau negotiate and transform their religious traditions within a socio-cultural context in which NU lacks symbolic dominance. NU is widely known for integrating Islamic tradition with local culture, yet this accommodative model does not operate uniformly across regions. In Minangkabau, the supremacy of adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi Kitabullah shapes religious legitimacy and constrains the public expression of NU traditions. This qualitative field study employs an interpretive–critical paradigm, using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in West Pasaman Regency. The findings reveal that NU religious practices are selectively enacted and symbolically moderated to preserve social harmony. NU identity is also mobilized instrumentally for social, political, and educational purposes, functioning as flexible symbolic capital. Additionally, pesantren traditions are transmitted to younger generations primarily through ethical values, leadership development, and civic engagement rather than through consistent ritual practice. These dynamics produce what this study conceptualizes as “half-hearted devotion,” a strategic form of adaptive religiosity rather than religious decline. This research contributes to studies of lived Islam and Islam Nusantara by highlighting negotiation and ambivalence as mechanisms of continuity and by recommending a balance between flexibility and efforts to sustain embodied religious traditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Kumon learning strategy in Tahfiz learning at the kindergarten level, with a focus on its effectiveness in improving children’s Qur’anic memorization and the role of educational management in supporting the learning process. Specifically, the study examines the dimensions of planning, implementation, evaluation, and collaboration between teachers and parents in managing Tahfiz learning activities. This research employs a library research method by analyzing relevant literature related to the Kumon method, early childhood education, Tahfiz learning, and educational management. The findings indicate that the application of the Kumon learning strategy positively contributes to increasing children’s learning independence, enhancing the effectiveness of repetition, and improving learning motivation in Qur’anic memorization. From an educational management perspective, effective instructional planning, systematic implementation, continuous evaluation, and strong teacher–parent collaboration are key factors in optimizing learning outcomes. The study implies that the Kumon method can serve as an alternative and innovative instructional strategy in early childhood Tahfiz education, strengthening learning management practices and fostering a harmonious partnership between schools and families to support children’s holistic learning success.

Abstract

This study analyzes the epistemological shift from the classical paradigm to digital scholarship as a form of contemporary scientific construction. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach based on the analysis of the philosophy of science and critical literature review, this study traces the changes in the concepts of truth, authority, and scientific validity resulting from the digitization of knowledge practices. Classical epistemology, rooted in rationality, empiricism, and objectivity, is now shifting towards an open knowledge system that emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and interdisciplinary connectivity. The results of the analysis show that digital infrastructure, algorithms, and big data form a new regime of truth, in which scientific validity is determined through global network participation, not solely by hierarchical verification by academic institutions. Through a synthesis of the ideas of Kuhn, Foucault, Latour, Gibbons, and Borgman, this study formulates the concept of reflexive digital epistemology, which is a scientific model that is socially and technologically aware, collaborative, open, and ethical. This study emphasizes the importance of a new scientific evaluation paradigm based on openness, epistemic justice, and digital responsibility, while highlighting the risks of algorithmic bias, data coloniality, and access inequality in the evolving practice of global digital science.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate various high-level data analysis techniques in quantitative and qualitative approaches to produce a comprehensive understanding of educational phenomena. A mixed methods approach is used to systematically combine the strengths of numerical and interpretive analysis. In the quantitative stage, data were analyzed using advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis, multiple regression, principal component analysis (PCA), discriminant analysis, canonical analysis, path analysis, factor analysis, ANAVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, and MANCOVA to test the significant relationships, differences, and effects between variables. Meanwhile, the qualitative stage uses taxonomy/domain analysis, constant comparative analysis, and symbolic analysis to explore the deeper meaning of field data inductively and contextually. The use of the NVivo application supports the qualitative analysis process through thematic coding, visualization of conceptual relationships, and evidence-based data validation. The integration of these two approaches strengthens the internal and external validity of the research, increases the reliability of the results, and broadens theoretical and practical understanding in the context of modern education. The results of this study indicate that the application of a combination of high-level data analysis methods and qualitative analysis technology support is capable of producing richer, more accurate, and more relevant interpretations for the development of data- and meaning-based educational science.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of parents in supporting early childhood Islamic education in the digital age, particularly at Ha-Kasumi Ophir Luhak Nan Duo Kindergarten, West Pasaman. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of increasing use of digital media among early childhood, which has both positive and negative impacts on their development. The research method used is qualitative research, specifically a case study. The results of the study show that the role of parents at Hakasumi Ophir Kindergarten includes: as educators, parents accustom children to performing worship and reading prayers; as supervisors, parents control the use of cell phones and limit access to inappropriate content; as motivators, parents provide motivation and Islamic role models in everyday life. Although there are challenges in the form of potential gadget addiction and the negative influence of digital media, parents are able to overcome them with an Islamic approach and good communication with their children. As facilitators, parents provide supporting tools such as Islamic books and learning applications. This study confirms that parental involvement has a significant influence on the success of Islamic education for early childhood in the digital era. This study also recommends the need for synergy between parents and schools in building an Islamic learning environment that is adaptive and wise to technological developments.

Abstract

This study examines the epistemological crisis of modern science resulting from the dominance of Western positivism, which tends to separate scientific inquiry from transcendental values. The hegemony of rationalism and empiricism has marginalized spiritual dimensions in knowledge production, leading to epistemic reductionism. Drawing on post-positivist perspectives, particularly the works of Thomas S. Kuhn and Paul Feyer bend, this study explores the relevance of Islamic epistemology as an alternative framework. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of philosophical and Islamic epistemology literature published between 2020 and 2025, the analysis employs philosophical hermeneutics to examine points of conceptual convergence. The findings reveal a philosophical alignment between post-positivist critiques of rational-empirical dominance and the pluralistic epistemological structure of Islamic knowledge, grounded in Bayani (revelation), Burhani (reason), and Irfani (intuition). This synthesis is further articulated through the integration of Al-Attas’s emphasis on metaphysics and adab and Al-Faruqi’s focus on methodological and curricular reconstruction. The study argues that the tripartite Islamic epistemological framework offers a viable alternative paradigm for addressing the reductionism of modern science. However, further empirical studies are required to assess the applicability of this integrative model within Islamic higher education contexts.

Abstract

Cyberbullying among elementary school children is a phenomenon that is increasing along with the development of digital technology and the intensity of social media use by children. Cyberbullying not only takes the form of insults or ridicule, but can also include social exclusion, dissemination of personal content, and collective pressure through comments and sharing features that amplify the impact on victims. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of cyberbullying among elementary school children in the digital age through a combined approach of Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and social media analysis. Research data was obtained from literature synthesis through the selection of relevant scientific articles and content analysis on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook platforms. The results show that cyberbullying is formed through the interrelationship between individual factors (children's emotional and empathy development), social factors (peer influence and peer pressure culture), and digital system factors (platform algorithms, anonymity, and content virality). The findings from SLR confirm that cyberbullying affects children's psychological, social, and academic aspects, while social media analysis shows that bullying is normalized and reinforced by audience responses in the form of likes, comments, and shares. This study concludes that cyberbullying among elementary school children is a multidimensional problem that requires comprehensive prevention through strengthening digital literacy, character education, school and parent involvement, and the formation of a healthy communication culture in the digital space.
