Abstract

Di era pesatnya teknologi digital seperti sekarang ini, sampai muncul istilah baru yaitu generasi Alpha yang lahir sekitar tahun 2010 - 2025 menjadi tantangan baru bagi setiap organisasi. Salah satunya organisasi perpustakaan, karena tidak dapat dipungkiri lagi bahwa pihak perpustakaan harus lebih ekstra memberikan edukasi kepada generasi Alpha yang mana sudah bersandingan dengan pesatnya kemajuan teknologi. Salah satu edukasi yang harus diberikan dari pihak perpustakaan kepada generasi Alpha yaitu mencari informasi agar menambah pengetahuan, serta menumbuhkan literasi agar tercipta budaya baca yang berkualitas. Maka tujuan dari penelitian ini agar mengetahui upaya Dinas Perpustakaan Umum dan Arsip Daerah (Dispersip) Kota Madiun dalam meningkatkan minat baca generasi Alpha. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, ikut secara langsung, observasi, dokumentasi dan studi dokumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu upaya yang dilakukan Dispersip Kota Madiun dalam meningkatkan minat baca generasi Alpha yaitu pihak perpustakaan mengembangkan inovasi berupa Layanan Jemputan - Antar Buku dari Rumahmu, Layanan Perpustakaan Digital berupa Aplikasi iMadiun, Layanan Destinasi Wisata Perpustakaan Kota, Layanan Pitutur Basa Jawa, Layanan Perpustakaan Keliling, Layanan Rumah Pintar Puri Cendekia Alun-alun dan Kunjungan Rutin oleh Anak-anak TK – SMP. Tantangan dalam upaya tersebut yaitu banyak masyarakat yang belum maksimal dalam memanfaatkan layanan dan kurangnya sumber daya manusia yang berperan di kegiatan tersebut.

Abstract

The development of information technology presents both challenges and opportunities for libraries and archival institutions in preserving local culture. This study aims to analyze the efforts and challenges faced by the Library and Archives Office of Klaten Regency in supporting the preservation of regional culture amid the rapid pace of digitalization. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that digitalization offers several opportunities, including service innovation, increased collaboration, expanded access to information, and enhanced public participation. However, several challenges remain, such as limited human resources, low levels of public education, suboptimal development of local libraries, and a lack of initiative from various stakeholders. The strategies implemented show potential in strengthening the role of libraries and archival institutions as centers for both documentation and cultural education. By optimizing the use of technology, local cultural preservation can be carried out in an innovative and sustainable manner, thereby engaging younger generations to learn about and appreciate their regional heritage.

Abstract

Di era digital saat ini kemudahan akses informasi membawa tantangan baru bagi siswa khususnya dalam memilah dan mengevaluasi informasi secara kritis dan etis. Literasi informasi menjadi keterampilan penting yang mencakup kemampuan menemukan, mengevaluasi, dan menggunakan informasi secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pustakawan dalam meningkatkan literasi informasi siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pustakawan berperan aktif dalam menarik minat siswa ke perpustakaan, menyediakan akses informasi yang relevan, serta memberikan pendampingan langsung dalam pencarian informasi. Namun, tantangan masih ditemui, seperti rendahnya minat baca siswa dan belum optimalnya pemanfaatan teknologi akibat keterbatasan sarana. Kolaborasi dengan guru sudah berjalan, tetapi belum terstruktur. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pemberdayaan pustakawan melalui pelatihan, peningkatan fasilitas, dan optimalisasi teknologi untuk mendukung penguatan literasi informasi siswa secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The Great Mosque of Surakarta plays an important role in the history of islamic dissemination in the city of Surakarta. Along with the development of Islamic civilization in the region, numerous manuscripts were written by scholars, particularly graduates of Madrasah Mamba’ul ‘Ulum, an influential Islamic educational institution of its time. These ancient manuscripts contain various Islamic sciences and serve as evidence of intellectual heritage as well as part of the history of Islamic civilization in Surakarta. Most of these manuscripts have been donated to the Great Mosque of Surakarta and are currently managed by the mosque’s library as part of its responsibility in preservation efforts. This research aims to examine in depth the preservation efforts carried out by the Library of the Great Mosque of Surakarta. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that the library has undertaken various preservation efforts, including the digitization of some manuscripts, the development of a website for digital access, and collaboration with external parties, including academics and cultural preservation institutions. However, these preservation efforts have not been fully optimized due to several obstacles faced by the Great Mosque of Surakarta, such as limitations in human resources, infrastructure, and technology.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether social media is effective in enhancing the digital literacy skills of Generation Zelenial (Gen Z) toward cultural information, and to what extent digital literacy influences their interest in visiting the Keris Nusantara Museum. This research uses a mixed-method approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection was conducted through interviews with the museum's social media managers, questionnaires distributed to Gen Z individuals who are active on social media, and documentation analysis. The results show that the Keris Nusantara Museum's use of social media, particularly Instagram, has proven effective in influencing Gen Z to visit the museum directly, supported by their strong digital literacy and familiarity with technology. However, challenges remain in converting digital engagement into actual visits, such as limited promotional budgets and the need for greater creativity and innovation in content creation. These findings indicate that while social media can generate interest, additional strategies are required to increase real visit conversions.

Abstract

The development of information technology requires universities, including the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Mas Said Surakarta, to improve digital literacy among students. Librarians play an important role in this process, not only as information managers, but also as educators, facilitators, and academic partners. This study aims to analyze the role of librarians in improving the digital literacy of students at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with interview techniques with four librarians. The results of the study show that librarians actively provide mentoring services, information literacy training, and academic ethics education. However, challenges such as low student participation, limited digital collections, and minimal budget are obstacles to optimizing these roles. This study concludes the importance of collaborative strategies between librarians, lecturers, and campus parties to create a sustainable digital literacy ecosystem.

Abstract

Technological developments have transformed cultural preservation into a digital preservation effort. Cultural preservation can now be carried out through social media, including Instagram. This effort is undertaken to save culture from fading away and to facilitate the dissemination of information about culture to the wider community, particularly through the virtual world. The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of Instagram by Rumah Budaya Kratonan in its digital cultural preservation efforts. Additionally, it aims to analyze the features used and the content presented in each post. This study employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach. Data analysis was conducted on the Instagram social media account of Rumah Budaya Kratonan. The findings reveal that Rumah Budaya Kratonan has leveraged Instagram as a technological platform to assist in the implementation of digital cultural preservation. Rumah Budaya Kratonan utilizes various features on Instagram to preserve existing cultures. In preserving various cultures, Rumah Budaya Kratonan uses Instagram features such as feed, story, reels, and live. The types of content shared through the Rumah Budaya Kratonan Instagram account are photos and videos showcasing culture or its values.

Abstract

Technology has had both positive and negative impacts. One of these impacts is in the field of literacy, which includes the use of local languages and interest in reading. The impact is the erosion of the use of local languages and the decline in interest in reading among children. However, on the other hand, technology can be utilized to solve these problems. One form of utilization is through the educational application Let's Read Asia. This digital application, initiated by Books for Asia from The Asia Foundation in 2019, presents hundreds of children's reading collections in various languages. The purpose of this research is to explore further the Let's Read Asia application in supporting the preservation of regional languages and increasing interest in reading so that later it can be redeveloped and recognized by the wider community as an educational application. The research method used is qualitative by conducting content analysis. This writing identifies various features of the Let's Read Asia application that contribute to efforts to preserve regional languages and increase children's literacy. The results show that Let's Read Asia is an application that provides thousands of digital reading books for children. This application not only acts as a means to preserve local languages but also encourages an increase in children's interest in reading through creatively designed and interactive features. Through the Let's Read Asia application, people can discover various regional languages and access reading materials practically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social inclusion program managed by the Karanganyar Archives and Library Office (Disarpus). The social inclusion program in libraries is designed to improve the quality of life of the community, increase welfare, encourage creativity, and reduce various information access gaps. The research method used in this article is a descriptive qualitative research method with data collection techniques including interviews, netnography, and observation. The results of the study show that the social inclusion library programs implemented by Disarpus Karanganyar are KASUARI (Karanganyar Suka Menari), SERUNDENG (Serunya Mendongeng), KARAMEL (Karanganyar Melukis), ROLASAN (Roadshow Literasi Anak Karanganyar), and Ka'Nofia (Karanganyar Nonton Film Bareng). Through these programs, the library's role as part of an inclusive and empowering non-formal learning environment is strengthened. The presence of this program provides a safe and positive environment for the community to grow and learn together.

Abstract

This research aims to provide a deeper understanding of how digital libraries can be a strategic tool in building a community reading culture in the increasingly advanced digital era. The research method used is to use a descriptive qualitative method with data collection, namely by interview, observation and documentation. The results of the study show that the Ngudi Ilmu E-Perpus application combines the functions of education, information and community empowerment in one platform that can be accessed online. The role of E-Perpus Ngudi Ilmu is as an effort to preserve the reading culture of the community, E-Perpus Ngudi Ilmu is used as an additional reference by educators and E-Perpus Ngudi Ilmu is used as a means of recreation with its collection. With this application, people can read books more easily and flexibly, both children and adults and support teaching and learning activities. Although there are still obstacles such as the low ability of the community to use technology (digital literacy) and the limited number of book collections, this library continues to strive to provide socialization and update the contents of its collection so that reading interest is maintained. The presence of the Ngudi Ilmu E-Perpus proves that the village library can also keep up with the times and remains an important place to improve reading culture in the community
