Abstract

Background: Patient safety is a critical component of healthcare. Caring behavior among nurses is hypothesized to enhance patient safety activities. However, the relationship between caring behavior and patient safety activities, particularly the moderating role of patient safety competency, remains underexplored. Purpose: This study aims to examine the influence of caring behavior on patient safety activities, while assessing the moderating role of patient safety competency. Methods: This study employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze the relationship between caring behavior and patient safety activities. A total of 154 nurses from a private hospital in Tangerang participated. The caring behavior inventory (CBI) was used to assess the nurses' caring behaviors across four subscales: respectful communication, ensuring human presence, communication with a positive disposition, and professional knowledge and skills. The safety nursing activities scale evaluated comprehensive patient safety activities across eight subcategories, such as communication, operations, and risk management. The Patient Safety in Nursing Education Questionnaire (PaSNEQ) was employed to assess patient safety competency, comprising three subdomains: basic patient safety competency, clinical analysis and action effectiveness, and error prevention strategies and additional training.   Results: The analysis showed that caring behaviour significantly influenced patient safety activities (T-value = 7.70, p < 0.05). Patient safety competency did not significantly moderate this relationship (T-value = 1.21). Conclusions: Caring behavior significantly improves patient safety, although increased patient safety competency does not show significant moderation effects. Future research should explore alternative moderators and emphasize interventions that foster caring behaviour to strengthen patient safety outcomes.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is a serious nutritional problem in Indonesia. This condition can affect maternal health and fetal development. MUAC measurement becomes important as an indicator of the nutritional status of pregnant women and as a predictor of CED risk. This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of Posyandu cadres in detecting CED risk through training in Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) measurement. The research method includes socialization, comprehensive training, technology application, evaluation, and program sustainability. The activity was carried out at Posyandu Dahlia, Kabasiran Village, involving 30 cadres. Results showed a significant increase in cadres' understanding and skills, especially in MUAC measurement and result interpretation (p<0.05). This improvement is reflected in test scores and direct performance observations. The program successfully strengthened the role of cadres as a link between the community and formal health services, enhancing the ability for early detection of CED and nutrition education for pregnant women. The implementation of this program is expected to have long-term impacts, including a decrease in CED prevalence and improved health of pregnant women.

Abstract

Minister of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022 mandates all healthcare facilities to implement electronic medical records. Digital nursing care at RSAU dr. M Salamun has not yet been optimally implemented due to a lack of knowledge, attitude, motivation, skills, and insufficient management support in the implementation of digital nursing care. This study aims to find out the Determinants that Affect the Implementation of Digital Nursing Care at RSAU dr. M Salamun. The research design used is quantitative research using analytical surveys and Cross Sectional approaches. The population and sample used in this study are all outpatient and inpatient nurses at RSAU dr. M Salamun which totals 160 nurses. The types of data in this study are primary and secondary data, the data collection tool used in this study is a questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used in this study are unvariate analysis, bivariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The study results indicate that knowledge has a significant effect on the implementation of digital nursing care (p-value 0.001), attitude has a significant effect on the determinants of the implementation of digital nursing care (p-value 0.000), while motivation, skills, and management support do not have a significant effect on the determinants of the implementation of digital nursing care. The test results show that collectively or simultaneously, the variables of knowledge, attitude, motivation, skills, and management support significantly influence the determinants of the implementation of digital nursing care. The attitude variable has the most dominant influence on the determinants of the implementation of digital nursing care at RSAU dr. M Salamun, with a p-value of 0.000. Based on these research findings, it is recommended that the hospital establish regulatory commitments and conduct socialization efforts for all nurses regarding the use of digital nursing care to raise awareness and create a positive attitude towards the use of digital nursing care technology that complies with accreditation standards.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence job satisfaction of nurses in the PK 3 category at Cibinong Regional General Hospital, Bogor Regency. The study design used Explanatory Research with a Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study were 157 nurses at the Cibinong Regional General Hospital level PK 3. The number of samples in this study was 157 respondents. Data collection used research instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used statistical applications including univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis. The results of the study, all variables were proven to have a significant effect on job satisfaction (p < 0.05). High motivation increased the chance of job satisfaction by 569 times, followed by interpersonal relationships (111 times), supervision (76 times), and light workload (62 times). A comfortable work environment, career development, and management support also made a positive contribution. Conversely, the perception of dissatisfaction with satisfaction significantly decreased job satisfaction. In conclusion, management support and related factors have a strong influence on nurse job satisfaction. Improving motivation, managing workload, interpersonal relationships, supervision, and a fair compensation system are essential to improving job satisfaction.   Keywords: Workload; Interpersonal Relationships; Job Satisfaction; Motivation

Abstract

Kesehatan ibu hamil merupakan salah satu indikator utama pembangunan kesehatan nasional, namun masih menghadapi tantangan signifikan, terutama di wilayah dengan keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader terkait asuhan keperawatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader Posyandu di Desa Kabasiran dalam memberikan edukasi asuhan keperawatan kepada ibu hamil. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup sosialisasi program, pelatihan peran kader dalam peningkatan kesehatan ibu hamil melalui edukasi, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Pelaksanaan dilakukan di Posyandu Dahlia, Desa Kabasiran, Kecamatan Parungpanjang, Kabupaten Bogor, dengan melibatkan 26 kader posyandu sebagai peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan (p < 0,05) setelah pelatihan. Program ini diharapkan dapat dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dengan dukungan lintas sektor untuk memperkuat peran kader sebagai agen promotif-preventif dalam upaya meningkatkan kesehatan ibu hamil di masyarakat.

Abstract

Ibu hamil rentan mengalami berbagai gangguan kesehatan seperti anemia, hipertensi dalam kehamilan, diabetes gestasional, morning sickness, kekurangan energi kronis (KEK), dan infeksi saluran kemih. Tanpa penanganan yang tepat, kondisi-kondisi tersebut dapat berkembang menjadi komplikasi serius selama masa kehamilan dan persalinan. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk memperkuat upaya pencegahan melalui identifikasi dini dan penanganan faktor-faktor risiko yang dapat menyebabkan kematian ibu dan bayi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kapasitas kader dalam melakukan deteksi dini faktor risiko kehamilan, pemantauan kesehatan ibu hamil secara berkala, dan edukasi tentang perawatan kehamilan yang tepat. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada Agustus-September 2024 di tiga posyandu di Desa kabasiran dengan melibatkan 26 kader posyandu yang dipilih berdasarkan rekomendasi puskesmas dan tokoh masyarakat. Program ini terdiri dari empat tahap: persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi, serta keberlanjutan program. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan untuk keterampilan kader posyandu, khususnya dalam hal pengukuran tekanan darah dan antropometri (p<0.05), dengan rata-rata skor sebelum kegiatan 47.7% menjadi 77.6% setelah kegiatan. Keberhasilan program ini tidak terlepas dari pendekatan yang diterapkan secara sistematis dan berkelanjutan. Kader yang berasal dari masyarakat setempat terbukti lebih efektif dalam memberikan edukasi dan pendampingan kepada ibu hamil karena memiliki pemahaman mendalam tentang kondisi sosial-budaya lokal.
