Abstract

The study of droplet dynamics is very important to understand the mechanism of heat, mass, and momentum transfer in two phases. One approach to studying this phenomenon is through numerical simulation. The front tracking method is one of the techniques often used in numerical simulation of droplets to handle phase interactions in multiphase flows. This study aims to study the characteristics of droplets when they collide with surfaces with varying density values. The modeling used in this study is an interface diffusion approach using 2 types of fluids that have different properties. The domain used is Square Box-Staggered Grid. The software used is MATLAB R2024a. The results of the study indicate that the density ratio has a significant effect on the spreading factor, apex height, spreading velocity and pressure.

Abstract

Background: A racing car must be able to run at high speeds. To achieve this goal, vehicle aerodynamic modifications are often carried out, one of which is adding a gurney flap (GF). The GF on a racing car function to delay the flow separation, increase the downforce value, and reduce the drag force.Aims & Methods: In this study, observations of the influence of GF were carried out by numerical simulation using Solidworks 2025 by varying the speed of 250, 320, and 400 km/h at an angle of attack of 0°, with and without GF. The aim is to obtain information on the influence of these variations on the flow separation phenomenon on the rear wing airfoil.Result: The results showed that the addition of GF caused a delay in flow separation and a decrease in wake/vortex behind the airfoil. The impact was that the drag force increased at low speeds (39.97% at 250 km/h) but showed a decrease at medium and high speeds, namely -7.91% at 320 km/h and -2.31% at 400 km/h.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop the piston ring damage detection technique using vibration analysis. Vibration analysis was performed by measuring vibration in four stroke engine which were worn and scratched on its piston ring, then compare it with the vibrations generated by engine which had a good conditions. Tests carried out on engine rotations of 750, 1500, and 2250 rpm, where the sensor were placed on the cylinder head and cylinder block. Vibration measurement produced a signal in the time domain, which then be analysed their signal energy by manual calculation which based on trapezoidal rule. Result of the research showed that the vibration signal energy decrease in all of the strokes of the defect piston ring. It was caused by the pressure of the defect piston ring smaller than the good piston ring. The decrease of vibration signal energy in suction and compression stroke were greater than the power and exhaust stroke. Indication of piston ring defect could be shown from the decrease in the vibration signal energy in all of the strokes.

Abstract

Efisiensi kolektor panas dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengoptimalkan desain geometrisnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh ketinggian saluran udara terhadap unjuk kerja termal kolektor panas bersirip. Variasi ketinggian saluran udara, yaitu 50 mm, 100 mm, dan 150 mm, diuji menggunakan simulasi numerik dengan perangkat lunak ANSYS. Parameter yang diamati meliputi rata-rata suhu udara keluar, distribusi suhu pada permukaan kolektor, serta efek variasi ketinggian saluran terhadap karakteristik aliran. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perubahan ketinggian saluran udara tidak secara signifikan memengaruhi rata-rata suhu udara keluar. Namun, semakin rendah ketinggian saluran udara, semakin tinggi kecepatan aliran udara, yang berdampak pada penurunan rata-rata suhu permukaan kolektor karena efek peningkatan perpindahan panas konveksi paksa. Selain itu, laju aliran massa udara yang lebih tinggi secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi perpindahan panas, tetapi juga menyebabkan perubahan pola aliran dan distribusi suhu. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai hubungan antara parameter geometris kolektor dengan efisiensi termalnya. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat mendukung pengembangan desain kolektor panas yang lebih optimal untuk aplikasi energi terbarukan, khususnya dalam memanfaatkan energi matahari secara efisien dan ramah lingkungan. Abstract

There have been many who have conducted research with the theme of Audio-Visual media and Audia Media, but there is no research on the differences in the use of these two media on student learning outcomes in science subjects. This study aims to determine differences in student learning outcomes between classes taught using audio media and audio-visual media in grade V at SD Negeri 58 Bengkulu City. This study used 2 groups, namely the VA class totaling 22 people as the experimental group and VB with 22 people as the control group. The research variable consisted of independent variables, namely audio-visual media with audio media, while the dependent variable was student learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative. Data collection techniques are observation, documentation and multiple choice test questions. The data analysis technique used T-test. It can be seen from the results of the hypothesis using the "t" test for both groups with the results obtained, t = 2.659, while t table with df 42 at the 5% significant level is 2.018. Thus t count> t table (2.659> 2.018) which means that the working hypothesis (Ha) in this study is accepted, namely the learning outcomes of class V students who are taught using Audio-visual media are better than students who are taught using Audio-visual media on Science subject at SDN 58 Bengkulu City. Evidenced by the average value of student learning outcomes in posttest class VA higher than class VB and there are differences in student learning outcomes in science subjects between classes taught using audio media and audio-visual media in class V at SD Negeri 58 Bengkulu City

Abstract

With the rapid advancement of automotive technology, there is a need to improve both educational quality and practical skills to enable students to compete in the workforce. The community service activities were carried out through hands-on training that prioritizes mastery of competencies in the automotive field, from understanding basic theories to practical work in solving problems and using work tools. Emphasis was placed on strengthening problem-solving skills in addressing motorcycle damage, a key component in the Automotive Vocational curriculum. The issues presented were case studies based on real motorcycle problems, where students were given time to resolve them (Problem Solving). The students' understanding was assessed through competency tests aligned with the standards and regulations related to motorcycle damage. The results of this service showed that many students successfully solved the problems presented, but they still faced challenges in applying the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that adhered to the provided regulations

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of using Power BI in improving efficiency and decision-making at Karton Box XYZ Factory in Lampung Province. Using action research methodology, production data, machine efficiency, product quality, raw material usage, and response time data were collected and analyzed before and after the implementation of Power BI. The results show that the implementation of Power BI successfully increased daily production, machine efficiency, product quality, as well as reduced raw material waste and response time. With its ability to visualize data in real-time, Power BI assisted the factory in optimizing production processes and enhancing operational efficiency. This study concludes that the use of Power BI has a positive impact on the factory's operational performance, boosting competitiveness, and supporting faster and more accurate data-driven decision-making.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi yang semakin pesat membuat platform manajemen proyek menjadi hal yang penting untuk dikuasai, terutama bagi penggiat usaha UMKM. Salah satu aplikasi mengatur kegiatan yang dapat membantu meningkatkan literasi digital dan manajemen organisasi adalah Trello. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengadakan sosialisasi pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Trello kepada pengusaha UMKM Kopi Anjosia. Metode yang digunakan adalah kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian. Materi pelatihan meliputi pengenalan aplikasi Trello, cara mengunduh dan mengaplikasikannya, serta membantu pengguna merencanakan dan menyelesaikan pekerjaan yang lebih efisien. Setelah mendapatkan pelatihan dan bimbingan dari tim pengabdian, para pegawai mampu mengoperasikan aplikasi Trello dengan baik dan dapat sistem perencanaan pekerjaan yan baik. Kegiatan PKM ini membantu pekerjaan manajemen Kopi Anjosia dalam merencakan beberapa pekerjaan yang akan datang. Diharapkan hasil dari penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi penggiat UMKM lainnya dalam memperkenalkan dan melatih penggunaan aplikasi Trello sebagai alat bantu merencanakan pekerjaan.

Abstract

Global dependence on fossil fuels continues to drive the search for cleaner, more sustainable energy sources. One promising technology is the Parabolic Dish Collector (PDC), harnessing concentrated solar energy. The receiver in a PDC is pivotal to overall thermal efficiency and useful energy output. This study evaluates the thermal and exergy performance of a manufactured flat spiral-tube receiver designed to enhance heat transfer. Experiments were conducted under tropical condition between 10:00 and 14:00 local time at three volumetric flow rates (0.5, 0.8, and 1.1 LPM). The 0.5 LPM flow rate yielded the best performance, with a fluid temperature rise up to 43.8°C, a thermal efficiency of 39.1%, and a peak exergy efficiency of 1.1%. The spiral geometry improved fluid residence time, enabling more effective heat absorption. These findings demonstrate that a simple, manufactured spiral tube receiver can improve PDC performance, offering an efficient and cost-effective solution for solar thermal systems.

Abstract

Waste management poses a significant environmental challenge, yet dry waste holds potential as a renewable energy source through Waste-to-Energy (WTE) technology. This study aims to analyze the potential of utilizing heat from dry waste combustion for drying applications using a hybrid approach of experimental methods and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. The experimental stage was conducted by burning dry waste in a furnace to obtain the average hot gas temperature, which was measured at 295.33°C. This value was then used as a boundary condition in the CFD simulation of an integrated heat exchanger system within the furnace. Air at a temperature of 30°C was flowed into the heat exchanger with four mass flow rate variations (0.087, 0.092, 0.126, and 0.165 kg/s). The simulation results show that the system is capable of heating the air to a temperature range of 46.05°C to 58.05°C, which is ideal for drying applications. An inverse relationship was found between the mass flow rate and the outlet temperature, where a lower flow rate results in hotter air. This research proves that the heat recovery system from dry waste combustion is technically feasible and has the potential to be a sustainable alternative energy solution for drying processes.
