Abstract

This study aims to specifically examine aspects of the learning process in elementary schools, which have an important role in building the academic foundation and character of students. The teacher's teaching style, which includes the way of delivering material, interaction, and strategies for creating a learning environment, is one of the determining factors for successful learning. The literature review method was used to analyze national literature, with the results showing a significant influence of the teacher's teaching style on elementary school students' learning motivation. Interactive and adaptive teaching styles have proven effective in increasing learning interest.

Abstract

Mathematics plays a crucial role in everyday life, as it enhances students' abilities to absorb lessons more effectively and develop rational, critical, logical, analytical, and systematic thinking. This study employs the literature review method, which involves gathering relevant information from various sources to support the research topic. The author collects references from articles and journals using Google Scholar, an open-access database that simplifies the process of locating topic-specific materials. Difficulties faced by students in learning mathematics are not always due to a lack of mathematical knowledge. They may stem from other issues such as memory problems, difficulty in recalling mathematical problems, weak calculation skills, confusion with operational signs, or reversing numbers. Students with learning disabilities may particularly struggle with both mathematical reasoning and basic computation. Furthermore, mathematical learning difficulties are also associated with cognitive challenges, such as solving complex word problems and understanding numerical concepts. These learning difficulties often result from internal and external factors that hinder the brain’s ability to process, analyze, and retain mathematical information effectively.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum takes a different approach from the previous curriculum, particularly in its assessment system, which focuses more on character building rather than students’ academic achievement The automatic grade promotion policy raises concerns about learning quality, as students advance to the next grade level even if they have not yet mastered essential skills. This study seeks to assess the negative impacts of implementing the Independent Curriculum, especially regarding academic gaps and learning effectiveness in elementary schools. By employing a qualitative method with an interpretative descriptive framework, this research aims to explore teachers’ experiences and perspectives in applying the Independent Curriculum. This method allows for a deeper investigation of challenges and policy effects from educators’ viewpoints, particulary in relation to academic disparities and learning efficiency. Moreover, the substitution of the National Examination with Askomi Suka is seen as less effective as a final student assessment tool, as this system not only diminishes academic competitiveness but also hampers the equal attainment of competencies. Teachers also encounter various obstacles in implementing project-bases learning and maintaining flexible teaching methods, which have yet to be executed effectively.

Abstract

Deep learning is defined as an approach that emphasizes conceptual understanding and critical application of knowledge. The research aims to provide both theoretical and functional assistance in developing deep learning approaches that fit the context of elementary schools especially in mathematics learning. The methods used are qualitative with an engineering triangulation approach, including observations and interviews. The study subjects consisted of teachers and students in elementary schools. The collected data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study show that the application of Deep Learning to mathematical studies has a positive effect on students' understanding. This method encourages students' active involvement through various interactive activities, such as simulations and experiments, making the learning process more meaningful and enjoyable. However, the application of this method is also faced with a number of challenges, such as limited time to complete the curriculum and uneven access to technology among students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of gadget use on social interactions of children at elementary school age. Around us, we often see that children at this age have difficulty in social interactions, both with peers and with their surroundings. This phenomenon shows that many children are more focused on gadgets and tend to do activities alone, thus losing the opportunity to interact with others. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which aims to study, disseminate, identify, and interpret various studies related to this phenomenon. With the SLR approach, this study succeeded in analyzing and identifying journals systematically. Data were obtained by searching for articles from various online journals through Google Scholar. The results of the study show that excessive use of gadgets, especially without parental supervision, can hinder the process of children's social interactions. Their attention is often diverted from the surrounding environment to gadgets, which in turn results in decreased social interactions with people around them.

Abstract

At SDN 06 Kp Lapai, third-grade students face a variety of challenges in learning mathematics that need to be recognized and addressed. The purpose of this study is to identify these difficulties and recommend appropriate solutions. A qualitative approach was used, with teacher interviews as the main source of data. The results highlighted several key issues. First, students often struggle to understand word problems and to apply the correct formulas. Second, the complexity and unclear nature of some word problems confuse students, which results in a lack of motivation to complete the tasks. Furthermore, students tend to lose interest quickly when faced with long and difficult problems, making them uncertain about how to solve the mathematical questions. To overcome these challenges, it is recommended that teaching methods and materials be adapted to better suit students' needs. This could include using more engaging and interactive teaching techniques and diversifying teaching resources. Continuous evaluation and revision of the curriculum are also necessary to ensure its effectiveness. Additionally, collaboration between teachers and parents is crucial to improving the overall quality of mathematics education at SDN 06 Kp Lapai.

Abstract

Mathematics education at the elementary school level has a big challenge in improving students' conceptual understanding and skills. With the rapid development of technology, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) has attracted attention as a solution to overcome problems in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine how the application of artificial intelligence (AI) supports elementary school students' mathematical understanding, and to determine the impact of the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting elementary school students' understanding of mathematics. By using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to understand the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting elementary school students' understanding of mathematics. The results of this study indicate that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) when learning mathematics at SDN 28 Koto Merapak has been shown to have a significant impact on students' conceptual understanding, especially in Grade VI. In addition, AI technology can increase students' motivation and commitment to learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the use of digital learning media on the teaching skills of grade IV teachers at Pariaman City State Elementary School. Digital learning media is expected to improve the effectiveness and quality of teaching, especially in improving teachers' teaching skills. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach. The sample of this study consists of 1 grade IV teacher in several elementary schools in Pariaman City who use digital learning media in teaching and learning activities. Data was collected through observation, and questionnaires filled out by teachers and students. The results of the analysis showed that the use of digital learning media significantly increased teachers' teaching skills, both in terms of delivering materials, using varied methods, and in increasing interaction with students. The results of this research are expected to be a reference in the development of the use of digital learning media to improve the quality of teaching at the elementary school level, especially in Pariaman City. Thus, the integration of technology in learning is an important step in creating a more effective and efficient education.

Abstract

Dalam pendidikan di abad ke-21, media pembelajaran digital tidak hanya berperan sebagai alat untuk membantu pengajaran, tetapi juga sebagai cara untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir kritis, kreatif, bekerjasama dan berkomunikasi. Media digital juga menumbuhkan semangat belajar sepanjang hayat yang sangat penting untuk menghadapi tantangan global serta perkembangan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis dampak dari media pembelajaran digital pada motivasi belajar siswa di tingkat sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Melalui cara ini, informasi diperoleh dari berbagai jurnal dan referensi yang kemudian ditelaah dan dianalisis untuk memperkuat pembahasan penelitian. Hasil kajian peneliti menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran digital dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dikarenakan proses belajar terasa lebih menarik, interaktif, dan tidak monoton. Siswa lebih antusis dan aktif dalam belajar ketika pembelajaran berlangsung menggunakan media digital, seperti video interaktif atau aplikasi edukatif. E-book, multimedia interaktif, dan platform web gratis dapat membantu guru dgam melaksanakan proses belajar mengajar yang lebih menarik dan inovatif untuk siswa. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran digital berperan penting dalam meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa, diharapkan media pembelajaran digital terus dikembangkan sehingga lebih memudahkan siswa dalam belajar dan dapat menghadapi tantangan pendidikan era digital di masa yang mendatang.

Abstract

This community service program supported the implementation of a deep learning approach in the Merdeka Curriculum to develop eight graduate profiles characterized by critical, creative, and adaptive thinking. Many elementary school teachers in Kecamatan V Koto Kampung Dalam, Pariaman City, still lacked a solid understanding of deep learning concepts and implementation strategies, including limited digital literacy, which affected learning quality. The program aimed to strengthen teachers’ competencies in designing and applying deep learning-based instruction aligned with the eight graduate profiles. Participatory Action Research (PAR) was used through stages of problem identification, planning, training, observation, and reflection. Participants were sixth-grade teachers from 31 public elementary schools in the target area. Results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding, indicated by higher post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. In the post-test, 65% of participants achieved perfect scores and the rest obtained very good results. Follow-up mentoring further enhanced teachers’ skills in developing deep learning-based teaching modules. Overall, the training effectively improved teacher professionalism and contributed to better learning quality in elementary schools.
