Abstract

Masa istirahat penanaman padi di kecamatan Kuok belum optimal dimanfaatkan oleh petani. Kelompok tani di kecamatan Kuok khususnya di desa Empat Balai berperan aktif dan memiliki semangat yang tinggi dalam memajukan usahataninya. Tim pengabdian UNRI (Universitas Riau) Fakultas Pertanian memanfaatkan potensi tersebut dengan mengadakan penyuluhan budidaya bawang merah yang bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat dalam memaksimalkan masa istirahat penanaman padi dengan budidaya bawang merah baik cara penanaman hingga cara pengendalian serangan dari hama dan penyakit pada tanaman bawang merah. Serta penyuluhan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan petani dengan memanfaatkan bahan organik yang tersedia disekitar petani untuk dibuat sebagai biofungisida plus. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan cara praktek secara langsung dan penyuluhan materi yang sudah disiapkan oleh tim pengabdian. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner petani peserta penyuluhan setelah dilakukan penyuluhan mengalami peningkatan dengan skor 3,59. Petani peserta penyuluhan mendapatkan pemahaman dan wawasan tentang teknologi biofungisida yang lebih baik, serta petani dapat memproduksi biofungisida dengan cara pembuatan yang telah dipraktekkan.

Abstract

Evaluation of land suitability is carried out to perceive the potential and limitation factors of an area as an agricultural development area. Air Putih Village is one of the potential area for watermelon development area. This research was conducted to perceive the level of actual and potential land suitability for watermelon cultivation in Air Putih Village, Tuah Madani District, Pekanbaru City in the form of a semi-detailed map scale of 1:25.000. The method used in this study was a purposive sampling survey based on a map of land units. There were 7 units of land covering an area of 330.56 ha with a total of 21 sample points. Data were sourced from field observation, analysis of chemistry and physics of soil samples at the laboratory and secondary data from climate data. Land suitability assessment was carried out using the limiting factor matching method. The actual land suitability was in class S3 and N with effective soil depth (rc), base saturation (nr), slope (eh) and soil texture (rc) as limiting factors. The class of the potential land suitability for watermelon cultivation were S2, S3 and N.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 tidak hanya memberikan dampak negatif terhadap tingkat kesehatan bangsa Indonesia namun juga berdampak besar pada sektor ekonomi. Salah satu dampaknya adalah berkurangnya lapangan kerja dan pendapatan masyarakat. Anak-anak sebagai generasi penerus bangsa banyak mengalami kekurangan gizi, jika hal ini terus terjadi dapat mengakibatkan menurunya kualitas sumber daya manusia pada masa mendatang. Hadirnya program kreativitas mahasiswa direktorat belmawa dikti di bidang pengabdian maka dilakukan pengabdian yang bertujuan untuk memberikan alternatif solusi usaha produktif dalam mengurangi dampak dari permasalahan ekonomi dan kekurangan gizi di panti asuhan salsabila Kota Pangkalan Kerinci, Kabupaten Pelalawan, Riau. Kegiatan pendampingan  budidaya sayuran secara hidroponik menggunakan botol air mineral bekas melibatkan 25 anak-anak panti asuhan salsabila, terdiri dari 9 laki-laki dan 16 perempuan. Metode pendekatan yang dilakukan berupa penyuluhan dan demonstrasi, pelatihan hidroponik serta pendampingan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Adapun hasil yang didapatkan dari program ini adalah: (1) meningkatnya pengetahuan dan kemampuan/ keterampilan anak-anak di panti asuhan dalam bercocok tanam berbagai sayuran secara hidroponik, (2) menghasilkan berbagai sayuran yang dapat dikonsumsi langsung oleh warga panti asuhan maupun dijual ke supermarket sekitar sebagai tambahan penghasilan. (3) mengurangi sampah botol plastik bekas air mineral. Mitra mendapatkan keahlian dalam budidaya hidroponik, mendapatkan perbaikan gizi dan meningkatkan ekonomi.

Abstract

White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) requires a source of nutrients for growth and development. The provision of NPK fertilizer aims to increase the source of media nutrients so that the results obtained are better in quantity and quality. Growth regulators can stimulate the relatively long growth of oyster mushroom mycelium. Growth regulators contain hormones that can support growth rates. One alternative natural growth regulator that can be used is coconut water. The research was carried out at the oyster mushroom kumbung at Pekanbaru, using a completely randomized design, consisting of 2 factors and three replications. The first factor was NPK fertilizer consisting of 4 levels (0, 7.5, 10, 12.5) g per baglog. The second factor was coconut water consisting of 4 levels (0, 3, 6, 9) ml per baglog. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance and further tested using DNMRT level 5%. The results showed that adding 10 g of NPK fertilizer and 6 ml of coconut water per baglog was a better dose for the number of fruit bodies, fresh fruit body weight, fruit cap diameter, fruit stalk length, and biological efficiency.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the research was to determine growth and yield of chili (Capsicum annuum L.) as a result of application of compost and inorganic fertilizer. The research was conducted in experimental field at Jl. Melati Panam and soil laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University on Bina Widya Campus Km 12.5 Simpang Baru sub-district, Tampan district, Pekanbaru, from September 2015 to March 2016. Research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors. The first factor was compost (K) : without compost, compost TKS (oil palm fruit branch + restaurant trash) and JRM (rice straw + market trash) 25 g polybag-1 and the second factor was NPK dose (0, 12.5 and 25) g plant-1.The variables observed were plant height, stem diameter, days to flowering, harvest date , length and weight of fruit per plant. Data obtained from the research were analyzed by analysis of variance followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5%. The results of application of compost with NPK did not show significant effect on plant height, length and weight of the fruit crop, but gave significant effect on stem diameter, harvest and flowering date.Keywords: dose, NPK, plant growth, yield ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai (Capsicum annuum L.) terhadap aplikasi pupuk kompos dan pupuk anorganik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Jl. Melati Panam dan Laboratorium Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau Kampus Bina Widya Km 12.5 Kelurahan Simpang Baru, Kecamatan Tampan, Pekanbaru, sejak bulan September 2015 sampai Maret 2016. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang disusun secara faktorial dan terdiri atas 2 faktor. Faktor pertama ialah percobaan pemberian pupuk kompos (K), terdiri dari tanpa pupuk kompos, pupuk kompos TKS (tandan kosong kelapa sawit + sampah restoran) dan JRM (jerami padi + sampah pasar) masing-masing 25 g polibag-1 dan faktor kedua dosis pupuk NPK (A) terdiri atas (0, 12.5 dan 25) g tanaman-1. Variabel yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, umur berbunga, umur panen, panjang buah dan bobot buah per tanaman. Data yang diperoleh dari pengamatan dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan Duncan Multiple Range Test pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi pupuk kompos dan penambahan NPK tidak berbeda nyata terhadap variabel tinggi tanaman, panjang buah dan berat buah tanaman-1, namun berbeda nyata terhadap variabel diameter batang, umur panen dan umur berbunga tanaman cabai.Kata kunci: dosis, hasil, NPK, pertumbuhan tanaman.

Abstract

Budidaya dengan sistem wick (sumbu) secara hidroponik menggunakan nutrisi dengan berbagai konsentrasi pada penggunaan beberapa media tanam diharapkan mampu mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman seledri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media tanam pada pemberian berbagai konsentrasi nutrisi serta mendapatkan media tanam terbaik dan konsentrasi nutrisi yang tepat dengan sistem wick secara hidroponik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Rumah Kasa Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau, mulai Juni sampai Oktober 2019. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi, terdiri dari petak utama nutrisi: AB-MIX 1000 ppm, AB-MIX 1200 ppm, AB-MIX 1400 ppm, AB-MIX 1600 ppm, anak petak media tanam: arang sekam, cocopeat, serbuk gergaji, dilakukan sebanyak 3 ulangan. Peubah yang diamati terdiri dari: tinggi tanaman, jumlah tangkai daun utama, jumlah daun, berat segar konsumsi per tanaman dan berat akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media tanam serbuk gergaji dengan nutrisi 1000-1200 ppm memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman seledri terbaik, berpengaruh nyata pada tinggi tanaman dan jumlah tangkai daun utama. Pemberian nutrisi 1000-1200 ppm cendrung memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terbaik sedangkan media tanam serbuk gergaji dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman seledri secara nyata pada semua peubah yang diamati. Abstract

One of the efforts to increase rice production in the dry land of ultisol such as in Riau is extensification. To alter low nutrient availability in ultisol, liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from waste of banana corm and NPK fertilizers are evaluated. Research aimed to obtain the best dose of LOF and NPK fertilizers to improve the productivity of upland rice on ultisols. This experiment was arranged in a completely randomized factorial design consisting of two factors. The first factor was LOF from banana corm (0 mL, 50 mL, 100 mL, and 150 mL per polybag). The second factor was NPK fertilizers (0%, 25%, 50%, and 100% recommendation dose); the recommendation base was: 300 kg Urea, 100 kg TSP, and 100 kg KCl ha-1. The results indicated that the application of 150 mL LOF per polybag and NPK fertilizers at 100% recommendation significantly enhances plant height, number of tiller numbers, productive tiller, filled grain per panicle, and dry grain weight of Inpago 9 variety.
