Abstract

Backgrounds : Stroke is a global problem and the second cause of death in the world. Purpose : To find out the effectiveness of giving mirror therapy in stroke patients. Methods : There are five databases used, namely Science Direct, SAGE Journal, Emerald, ProQuest and PubMed to search for mirror therapy and post-strokes. The inclusion criteria used are for publications for the last 5 years from 2017 to 2022, full-text articles and in English, according to the title, and RCT research or experimental studies. Results : of the total 7 articles submitted for this systematic review after quality assessment, this included 3 randomized controlled trials and 4 experimental studies. All muscle strength studies in post-stroke patients after being given mirror interventions experienced an increase in muscles in parts of the body that experienced hemiperation, thereby increasing independence in patients. From the results of all studies, it was found that the optimal time in starting the therapy is in the chronic stage, and the therapeutic dose is given with the same intensity (at least five sessions per week) and duration (at least 30 minutes to 90 minutes). Conclusion : mirror therapy proved to be an effective and viable approach to rehabilitate post-stroke survivors in acute, sub-acute, and chronic phases of the stroke, despite the long-term effects.

Abstract

Background: Menarche causes anxiety in some teenagers, because they consider menstruation to be a disease and dirty blood. Purpose: The aim of the research is to determine the factors related to the psychological response during menarche at Khadijah Elementary School, Surabaya. Methods: This research is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. It was conducted at SD Khadijah Surabaya on May 3, 2024. The sample consisted of 47 female students who had experienced menarche. The sampling technique used was stratified random sampling. The research instruments included questionnaires on age at menarche, sources of information, knowledge and perceptions about menstruation and menarche, as well as psychological responses during menarche. The data were analyzed using the Chi-square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. Multivariate analysis was not performed to avoid overfitting due to the small sample size. Results: The results of the Chi-square test showed significant associations between psychological responses at menarche and the following variables: age at menarche (p = 0.001), knowledge (p = 0.000), perception (p = 0.000), and source of information (p = 0.035). Conclusion: Based on the results of the research and discussion that have been described, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the age of menarche, knowledge, perception and sources of information with the psychological response during menarche at Khadijah Elementary School Surabaya.

Abstract

Complaints that often arise in hemodialysis patients are nausea, vomiting, anemia, fatigue, sleep disorders, and increased urea levels. Anxiety is caused by by innate and physiological factors, namely those that influence or manifest in physical symptoms, especially in the function of the central nervous system, both from within the patient and from outside the patient. This study aims to provide scientific evidence to support the use of these interventions as a comfortable and effective prevention strategy for patients with chronic kidney failure. Comforting intervention needed in nursing intervention, the comfort level of Kolkaba is at the transcendence comfort level. The method used is quasy experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design approach, the sample size is 40 people, namely 20 interventions groups and 20 controls groups. The sampling technique is Purposive Sampling Technique. The research instrument used the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) questionnaire and DASS 42. FSS shows high reliability with Cronbach's Alpha value >0.9, such as 0.968 as well as good validity based on Pearson correlation (r >0.623, Sig <0.05). The DASS-42 has excellent reliability (Cronbach's Alpha >0.9 for each dimension: depression 0.954, anxiety 0.903, stress 0.917) and validity 0.782. The data were analyzed using the Pariet t- test with significance at fatigue p = 0.000 (<0.05). While anxiety shows the Pariet t- test with significance p = 0.015 (<0.05), indicating that hand and foot massage therapy has an effect on reducing fatigue and anxiety values. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of hand and foot massage based on the theory of comfort on reducing fatigue and anxiety values in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Menopause is a natural phase in a woman's life that generally occurs between the ages of 45–55 and is characterized by the cessation of menstruation for at least 12 months due to reduced estrogen hormone levels. Low health literacy and limited engaging educational media are obstacles to increasing public awareness, especially among women with basic and secondary education backgrounds. Amid the challenge of limited engaging educational media, the use of animated video media becomes one of the practical alternative solutions. This community service activity is designed to develop knowledge and skills within LASKAR GERTAK KITA through specialized training related to animated videos. The stages are systematically and practically designed to achieve the program's goal, which is to improve understanding and healthy behavior of premenopausal and menopausal women through health education based on animated videos. To measure learning outcomes, evaluations were conducted using pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed that health education using animated video media was able to improve participants' understanding of physiological changes during menopause as well as the importance of consuming foods high in phytoestrogens, such as soy and seeds, to naturally support hormone balance. The animated media proved effective in bridging health literacy gaps, particularly for people with primary and secondary educational backgrounds. With a practical visual education approach, participants are better able to understand the material, are open to lifestyle changes, and are motivated to start paying attention to their daily nutritional intake. Keywords: Menopause, Phytoestrogen, Reproductive Function, Animated Video, Health Education.
