Abstract

In an era characterized by rapid technological advancement and escalating organizational complexity, fostering a supportive organizational culture is paramount to enhancing employee attitudes and behaviors that contribute to institutional effectiveness. This study aims to investigate whether job satisfaction mediates the relationship between organizational culture and organizational citizenship behavior. A quantitative approach utilizing a causal research design was employed, leveraging Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data collected from 150 university lecturers in Serang City, Indonesia, via a structured questionnaire with Likert-scale measurements. The empirical findings reveal that organizational culture exerts a significant positive effect on both job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior, while job satisfaction concurrently influences organizational citizenship behavior in a significant positive manner. Moreover, job satisfaction is confirmed to partially mediate the relationship between organizational culture and organizational citizenship behavior, thereby indicating that a constructive culture fosters discretionary employee behaviors by means of heightened satisfaction. In conclusion, reinforcing organizational culture is crucial for elevating job satisfaction and cultivating extra-role behaviors, which ultimately enhance overall organizational performance and sustainability within higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of training on employee job satisfaction, focusing on workload and motivation. This research proposes that practical training can reduce workload, increase motivation, and ultimately increase employee job satisfaction. The research method used was quantitative, with an association approach, identifying the relationship between the variables. The research population consisted of 199 employees of the Cilegon City Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, with a total sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire. For data analysis, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used with SmartPLS 4.0. The results of the study show that training has no direct effect on job satisfaction; however, it does have a significant effect on work motivation and workload, which, in turn, affect job satisfaction. Training that is relevant and tailored to employees' needs has been proven to reduce perceived workload, increase motivation, and boost job satisfaction. These findings make an important contribution to the development of human resource management strategies to improve employee performance and satisfaction in the public sector. It is hoped that this research can make a theoretical contribution to the literature in this context, of course, in the context of human resource management.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the main drivers of the rural economy. However, MSMEs in Cikamunding Village, Cilograng District, Lebak Regency, Banten, still face various obstacles, such as limited managerial skills, conventional marketing, low digital literacy, and suboptimal business financial management. These conditions impact low competitiveness and business development. This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs through outreach and mentoring on business development strategies, simple financial management, and the use of digital media as a marketing tool. The method used is a participatory approach with the stages of observation, needs identification, outreach, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, discussions, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the activity showed that participants gained an increased understanding of the importance of business development strategies, simple financial recording, and the use of digital media in expanding marketing reach. In addition, participants showed high enthusiasm during the activity and were committed to applying the material they had learned in managing their businesses. This activity demonstrates that participatory mentoring can improve the knowledge and motivation of MSMEs to develop their businesses more productively and sustainably. Therefore, ongoing collaboration between village governments, universities, and MSMEs is necessary to support the economic empowerment of rural communities.
