Abstract

This study aims to find out how effective learning is using Canva application-based learning media. This research is a research and development (R&D). Actually, there are ten stages of development, but in this study, the researcher only limited three stages in the development of Canva media, namely the planning stage, the development stage, and the trial stage. The test subjects in this study are students of Physics Education at Cenderawasih University. The data collection technique used in this study is in the form of a questionnaire or questionnaire in the form of a checklist. The data collected is in the form of quantitative data and qualitative data that is formed by words. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, students have responded well to the use of the Canva application. In this study, the researcher used 2 indicators in general, namely the effectiveness of learning and the learning process. The results of the analysis obtained were the percentage score for learning effectiveness of 79.46% in the good category, while for the presentation learning process obtained was 80.71 and in the good category. From the results of the analysis mentioned above, it can be said that the use of Canva-based learning media is good or effective in learning physics at Cenderawasih University.

Abstract

Tragedi banjir bandang di Kecamatan Sentani pada 2019 yang dipicu oleh curah hujan ekstrem di Pegunungan Cyclops menjadi bukti nyata perlunya langkah mitigasi yang berkelanjutan. Namun, realitanya kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya mitigasi bencana masih tergolong rendah. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, pendidikan kebencanaan perlu diupayakan secara sistematis, salah satunya melalui integrasi materi ke dalam mata pelajaran Fisika. Langkah ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kesiapsiagaan komunitas sekolah di Sentani. Mengingat minimnya pemahaman siswa SMA mengenai prosedur keselamatan, program pengabdian ini hadir untuk mengedukasi siswa melalui sosialisasi dan simulasi menggunakan bantuan e-book mitigasi banjir berbasis konsep fisika. Program ini melibatkan 26 siswa Kelas X SMA YPPGI Sentani menggunakan desain pre-test post-test one group. Durasi pengabdian yang dilakukan dari awal hingga akhir selama kurang lebih 3 jam. Temuan di lapangan menunjukkan kesiapsiagaan meningkat ke kategori "Sangat Siap" dengan skor rata-rata post-test sebesar 83,81, nilai N-gain mencapai 0,6 (termasuk dalam kategori sedang), respon siswa terjadi perubahan persepsi positif sebesar 88%, serta tingkat kepuasan terhadap media e-book mencapai rata-rata 68,96 (kategori sangat baik). Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan literasi kebencanaan dan memperkokoh ketahanan sekolah dalam menghadapi ancaman banjir di masa depan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of the concept of flat building and mathematical communication skills of elementary school students which are still abstract and have not been supported by innovative and technology-based learning tools. The integration of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework with the use of Canva's digital media is a solution to create more visual, interactive, and meaningful learning. This research aims to develop a Canva-based teaching module that is integrated with TPACK and test its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts and communication skills. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model which includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The product developed is a Canva-based digital teaching module designed by systematically integrating content, pedagogy, and technology aspects. The research subjects were elementary school grade V students involving validators who were experts in material, media, and language. The research instruments include validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, concept comprehension tests, and mathematical communication skills tests. The results of the study show that the teaching modules developed are in the category of being very valid, practical, and effective in improving student learning outcomes. This is shown by a significant improvement in students' understanding of concepts and mathematical communication skills based on N- Gain analysis with medium to high categories. These findings indicate that Canva-based teaching modules within the TPACK framework are able to transform flat-wake learning to be more engaging, contextual, and student-centered.
