Abstract

This research aims todevelop Wordwall-based digital media for Englishsubjects focusing on teaching vocabulary to support the material in the Merdeka Curriculum textbook "My NextWords". The research design used in this research ist he D&D method using the ADDIE model by Richey & Klein (2014). This model consists of five stages, including: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. There are five instruments used in this research, namely observation sheet, interview guidelines, module analysis matrix, media blueprint, and expert avaluation sheets. The subjects o fthis research were 5 students in grade 6 in the 2nd semester. The results of the data validation showed that the media developed was in the very good category with an average score of 94%. Thus, it can be concluded that Wordwall-based digital media is suitable for use as learning media for teaching. English vocabulary.

Abstract

The researcher conducted experimental research of using Virtual Reality as instructional media in form of Virtual Reality-based activities especially in learning English in form of writing skill. This research had two purposes, namely (1) to determine whether there is an effect of Virtual Reality-based English learning activities towards students’ English learning achievement in a public secondary school in North Bali, (2) to find out how VR-based English learning activities affects students’ English learning achievement in form of writing achievement. The research design used in this study was explanatory sequential explanatory mixed methods design. The population was first grade students of a public secondary school in North Bali. The result of qualitative data analysis showed that there is an effect of Virtual Reality-based English learning activities towards 10th grade students’ English learning achievement in public secondary school in North Bali. The Effect Size of this quantitative research is in range on low effect size. The result of qualitative data showed that there were strengths and weaknesses of using VR-based English learning activities that affects the result of quantitative data of the students’ English learning achievement in a public secondary school in North Bali in form of writing skill.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) describe the implementation of Quizizz as an English Language Learning Assessment for Teachers at SMP 1 Nusa Penida. (2) identify the Teacher problem in implementing Quizizz as Assessment for Learning English at SMP 1 Nusa Penida. (3) investigate what EFL Teacher at SMP 1 Nusa Penida overcome the problems that they faced in implementing Quizizz as Assessment for Learning English at SMP 1 Nusa Penida. The method of this study was a descriptive qualitative. The subject of this study is one English teacher at SMPN 1 Nusa Penida. In this study concluded that the implementation of Quizizz as Assessment for Learning in English learning process in seventh grade especially about the characteristic of Assessment for Learning runs according to the theory used as a reference. The indicators used to test the problems faced are theory about the characteristic of Assessment for Learning by Tetahuhu o te Matauranga. This study also concluded that there were several strategies found that used to solve several problems faced by teachers when implementing Quizizz as Assessment for Learning in English learning process.

Abstract

This research explores the development of English e-storybooks integrated with the Emancipated Learning curriculum for first-grade students at SDN 3 Banjar Jawa. Following the Design and Development (D&D) model, specifically the ADDE (Analyze, Design, Development, and Evaluation) framework, the study employs a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. The research addresses the dearth of supplementary materials and the limited use of e-storybooks in the context of Emancipated Learning. The process involves a systematic analysis of needs, the design of a comprehensive blueprint, the development of e-storybooks, and an evaluation based on expert judgment, teacher assessments, and student feedback. The results indicate that the developed e-storybooks align with curriculum objectives and exhibit excellence in material development principles. The findings emphasize the potential of e-storybooks in enhancing language skills and supporting 21st-century learning principles. The research contributes valuable insights for educators, researchers, and curriculum developers interested in creating effective digital resources tailored to specific educational contexts.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate students’ listening comprehension through the use of song as a media under the topic of showing ability for EFL student. This research was a quasi-experiment involving 80 students (40 in control and experiment group). Test of listening comprehension was used to collect the data. The samples were chosen using multistage cluster sampling. Findings showed that there is a significant difference in post-test scores between the two groups, namely the group that favors the experimental group. The independent t-test proved that the value of sig two-tailed its 0.000 was lower than 0.05 which interpreted that Songs has a significant impact on students' listening comprehension. In addition, students t students had positive attitudes and responses towards the use of songs in listening classes. Students felt that the songs given as material succeeded in making students enthusiastic and moving their bodies. It was an interesting activity including listening practice which was meaningful for them so that they felt more motivated and happier in learning English. Suggestions for teachers and further research are encouraged in this article.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the education curriculum underwent numerous changes, with the most recent being the Merdeka curriculum. Vocabulary was a crucial component in English language learning. This study aimed to develop Wordwall-based learning media for vocabulary using the "My Next Words" book at SD Negeri 1 Baktiseraga for fourth-grade students in the second semester. The research involved classroom observations, interviews with English teachers, and analysis of the curriculum and students' needs. In the planning stage, the design of Wordwall games focused on vocabulary learning objectives aligned with the "My Next Words" curriculum. Development included creating Wordwall games, selecting templates, types of games, and integrating interactive features. After development, Wordwall products were evaluated and approved by education and technology experts, then integrated into the learning process for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Baktiseraga. Evaluation assessed the effectiveness of Wordwall in enhancing students' vocabulary comprehension, with experts reviewing the quality of learning materials, user experience, and its impact on students' learning motivation. The results indicated that Wordwall was effective in improving English vocabulary acquisition and making learning more engaging and motivating for students.
