Abstract

This study addresses the persistent challenge of low Arabic reading comprehension (maharah qira’ah) among tenth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah, a problem rooted in monotonous instructional methods and students’ limited exposure to interactive learning tools. The primary objective of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of Liveworksheets as an interactive web-based medium in improving students’ Arabic reading skills and to examine student responses toward its implementation. A gap identified in prior studies is that while digital tools have been explored in general Arabic learning, their specific application to developing maharah qira’ah through a collaborative classroom action research design remains underexplored. This study offers a novel contribution by integrating Liveworksheets within a two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) framework following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected through reading comprehension tests, structured classroom observations, and student response questionnaires. Findings demonstrate a significant improvement in classical learning mastery: from 52.7% in the pre-cycle with a mean score of 69.7, rising to 72.2% (mean: 76.6) in Cycle I, and reaching 86.1% (mean: 82.8) in Cycle II, surpassing the minimum classical mastery threshold of 85%. Student engagement, motivation, and confidence also increased substantially across cycles. This research contributes empirical evidence that Liveworksheets, particularly when implemented with a collaborative strategy, constitutes an effective and replicable model for enhancing Arabic reading instruction in Islamic secondary education contexts.

Abstract

Arabic language learning at the madrasah level still faces challenges, particularly in mastering numerical material among students. The lack of interactive and engaging media causes learners to be less motivated and to struggle with memorizing and using numbers in Arabic. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Snakes and Ladders game as an instructional medium in teaching Arabic numerals and to measure its effectiveness on students’ comprehension and learning motivation. The research subjects were 32 students of class 7B at MTs Negeri 2 Lamongan. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a participatory approach, involving stages of direct instruction, observation, documentation, and learning outcome evaluation. The Snakes and Ladders medium was contextually developed to include Arabic numbers from 1 to 100 and was played collaboratively in groups. The findings revealed that the application of this medium successfully created an active, enjoyable, and collaborative learning environment. Students showed improvements in recognizing and pronouncing Arabic numbers and demonstrated greater enthusiasm in class participation. The use of the Snakes and Ladders game in Arabic numeracy learning proved effective in enhancing students’ motivation, active participation, and understanding compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

Mastery of mufradat (vocabulary) is a fundamental foundation in learning Arabic. However, the learning conditions at MTsN 2 Lamongan indicate that seventh-grade students still demonstrate low vocabulary mastery, which is influenced by the predominance of conventional teaching methods and the limited use of instructional media. This study aims to describe the implementation and effectiveness of the manual media Read & Find! in improving students’ Arabic vocabulary mastery. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the Read & Find! media, in the form of picture–word matching cards, is able to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment. The media facilitates visual–verbal associations, enabling students to recognize, remember, and understand vocabulary more effectively. Students also demonstrated increased participation, confidence, and accuracy in matching vocabulary with the appropriate images. These findings imply that the use of simple visual media such as Read & Find! can serve as an effective and practical instructional strategy for Arabic teachers to enhance vocabulary mastery and to promote more interactive and student-centered learning.

Abstract

It is unthinkable that errors in the pronunciation of Arabic voices can hinder understanding and lead to ambiguity and ambiguity in meaning. This study aims to determine the sound errors that researchers witnessed in Luqman al-Hakim Surabya school students. This study uses descriptive and qualitative methods for field research. The source of the data consists of primary data (samples of class II A students) and secondary data found from references related to research. While the method for collecting research data is using observation and interviews. After conducting research at the Luqman Al-Hakim School in Surabaya, the researcher found a sound error, namely the mention of letters that are similar to Tatwiriyah errors and errors in the mention of sounds in Arabic that are not found in Indonesian, namely the Prayer of Blessing. the cause of errors in the mention of the sound of Arabic in class II A students at Luqman Al-Hakim Surabaya School is ignorance and lack of application of rules in terms of sound also because of the influence of mother tongue, namely Indonesian. It is unthinkable that errors in the pronunciation of Arabic voices can hinder understanding and lead to ambiguity and ambiguity in meaning.
