Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Share dengan siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Students Teams Achievement Division, (2) perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Share dengan siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Students Teams Achievement Division, (3) interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan komunikasi matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI jurusan TBSM dan sampel dalam penelitian ini dipilih secara acak, kelas yang terpilih adalah kelas XI TBSM 1 dan XI TBSM 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen masing-masing berjumlah 26 siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan ANAVA dua jalur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Share dengan siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran tipe Students Teams Achievement Division, (2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Share dengan siswa yang diajar melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Students Teams Achievement Division, (3) tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan komunikasi matematis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan E-LKPD berbasis Problem solving yang valid, praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemandirian belajar peserta didik, (2) menganalisis dan menyimpulkan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik menggunakan E-LKPD berbasis Problem solving, (3) menganalisis dan menyimpulkan peningkatan kemandirian belajar peserta didik menggunakan E-LKPD berbasis Problem solving. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan (development & research) dengan menggunakan mode 4-D Thiagaradjan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP IT Indah Medan tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) E-LKPD berbasis problem solving yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, efektif; 2) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik di SMP IT Indah Medan yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan Elektronik LKPD (E-LKPD) berbasis problem solving dinyatakan meningkat dari uji coba I ke Uji coba II dilihat dari nilai N-Gain pada uji coba I sebesar 0,56 (sedang) meningkat menjadi 0,58 (sedang) pada uji coba II; 3) Peningkatan kemandirian belajar peserta didik di SMP IT Indah Medan yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan Elektronik LKPD (E-LKPD) berbasis problem solving dinyatakan meningkat dari uji coba I ke Uji coba II dilihat dari nilai N-Gain pada uji coba I sebesar 0,49 (sedang) meningkat menjadi 0,50 (sedang) pada uji coba II.

Abstract

In order to enhance problem-solving abilities, this study intends to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of student worksheets based on problem-based learning models. Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation are the five stages of the ADDIE development paradigm, which is used for development research. Class VIII pupils from Medan State's 4 MTs Preparation for the academic year 2022/2023 served as the study's subjects. The findings revealed that: 1) problem-based learning worksheets for students were deemed valid with an average value of 4.06; 2) problem-based learning worksheets for students were deemed practical based on experts and the implementation of learning with the implemented category good; and 3) problem-based learning worksheets for students were deemed effective based on: a) classical completeness which reaches 84.00%, b) student response to learning is 93%, and c) increasing problem solving abilities based on N-Gain values of 0.50 is in the middle range.Keywords: Student Worksheets, Problem Based Learning Models, Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada usaha bakery, Novri Bakrie dan Dapoer Bunda B&B, yang berlokasi di Desa Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Binjai, Kabupaten Langkat, sekitar 35 km dari Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Negeri Medan, dengan jarak tempuh sekitar satu jam perjalanan menggunakan mobil. Para mitra menghadapi beberapa tantangan, yaitu: 1) Produk yang dihasilkan belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan penjualan karena keterbatasan kapasitas peralatan yang dimiliki, 2) Peralatan produksi yang sudah usang, sederhana, dan tidak higienis, 3) Minimnya modal usaha yang menyebabkan mitra tidak mampu mengganti peralatan yang ada saat ini, 4) Manajemen usaha yang masih sederhana dan catatan pembukuan yang kurang memadai, serta 5) Pembukuan yang masih dilakukan secara manual. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam program pengabdian ini meliputi pelatihan, pendampingan, dan demonstrasi penggunaan alat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah penyerahan alat Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) berupa oven roti, disertai praktik penggunaannya, serta pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam manajemen usaha dan pembukuan yang lebih terstruktur, rapi, dan praktis.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan selama kurun waktu 1 bulan di Desa Teluk Kecamatan Secanggang yang berjarak sekitar 53 km dari Unimed. Yang menjadi mitra adalah kelompok Usaha Jamu Segar yang dikelola Bapak Suwito. Mitra memiliki urgensi ermasalahan berupa peralatan teknologi pengolahan jamu basah yang masih manual sehingga kerap menghambat produktivitas usaha dalam waktu singkat, minimnya pengetahuan dalam menyusun manajemen usaha serta laporan keuangan yang baik juga menjadi permasalahan lanjutan mitra. Sehubungan dengan itu, maka tim pengabdi merancang alat teknologi tepat guna mesin pengolah jamu basah untuk diterapkan pada mitra, serta memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan pembukuan dan manajemen usaha. Metode pendekatan yang diterapkan tim pengabdi berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan yang disertai dengan demonstrasi penggunaan alat. Hasil yang tercapai pada program pengabdian ini yaitu berupa telah ditransfernya alat teknologi tepat guna beserta peralatan pendukung kepada mitra. Abstract

In the modern era of education, the implementation of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum and the mastery of four key literacies, human, language, data, and digital literacy are urgent needs for educators in higher education institutions. At the State University of Medan, lecturers' understanding of the OBE curriculum and these literacies is crucial for improving the quality of the learning process and student outcomes. This study aims to optimize the understanding of lecturers at the State University of Medan regarding the OBE curriculum and the required literacies to effectively integrate 21st-century skills into teaching and learning activities. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, using data collection techniques such as surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs) involving 100 lecturers from various faculties at the State University of Medan. Data analysis was conducted using the triangulation method to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the lecturers’ levels of understanding and the challenges they face in implementing the OBE curriculum and the four literacies. The findings indicate that lecturers’ understanding of the OBE curriculum is varied, with some lecturers demonstrating a good grasp, while others require improvement in their knowledge and skills. Human and language literacies are relatively well-mastered by most lecturers; however, data and digital literacy remain challenges that need to be addressed. In conclusion, continuous professional development strategies, such as training and workshops, are required to enhance lecturers' understanding of the OBE curriculum and the four literacies. The implications of this study highlight the importance of institutional support in providing adequate resources and facilities, as well as encouraging collaboration among lecturers to strengthen pedagogical capabilities relevant to the demands of modern education.

Abstract

Economic development is one of the important goals to be achieved by a country. Because basically economic development is an effort and policy with the aim of expanding employment opportunities, raising the standard of living of the people, and improving the regional regional economy. Gross Regional Domestic Product is an indicator that can be used to see economic growth in a region. North Sumatra's GRDP growth rate recorded in the Central Bureau of Statistics of North Sumatra has fluctuated. One way to find out if GRDP has increased or decreased is to use forecasting. In various fields, forecasting systems are needed that must be accurate to anticipate future events. One of the methods used is regression analysis, including polynomial and exponential regression, the data used is North Sumatra GRDP Growth Rate data from 2011 to 2021 where the X variable is the year and the Y variable is the GRDP growth rate each quarter, and the best method will be determined in this research. From the results obtained using the help of the Matlab application, the best forecasting model is by looking at the MSE which is close to zero where the MSE values are regression, namely: 1st Order Polynomial (MSE: 1.98e-05); Order 2 Polynomial (MSE: 0.0023); Order 3 Polynomial (MSE: 1.85e-04); Order 4 Polynomial (MSE: 12.65); Order 5 polynomial (MSE: 8.66); Exponential (MSE: 0.2447).

Abstract

North Sumatra's economic growth often experiences fluctuationsthere are changes in external and internal conditions. Studyit aims to find the Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines model(MARS) on the GRDP growth rate in North Sumatra according to the fieldbest effort using Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) criteria. Abstract

The integration of technology in education is a strategic step toward enhancing the effectiveness and quality of learning in the digital era. Collaboration between academics, teachers, and technology practitioners is a key factor in creating adaptive and effective learning innovations. This study aims to examine the impacts and challenges of optimizing collaboration to support the implementation of technology in education. The research method used is a qualitative approach, with data analysis based on observations, interviews, and document studies from activities focused on strengthening collaboration in technology integration. The findings indicate that effective collaboration can enhance teachers' competence in utilizing technology, enrich students’ learning experiences, and create a more dynamic learning environment. This article recommends strengthening continuous training, improving infrastructure, and establishing academic communities as strategic steps to support the sustainability of technology-based learning innovations.

Abstract

Public opinion on PON 2024 (National Sports Week in Indonesia) became a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter), reflecting both positive and negative sentiments. Understanding these sentiments is important for evaluating the event and preparing for the upcoming. However, baseline SVM algorithms using standard kernel functions are not optimized for text similarity and limit performance in sentiment analysis. This research proposes cosine similarity as a substitution for the kernel function on SVM, enhancing the sentiment analyzer's performance on public opinions about PON 2024. The approach leverages cosine similarity's strength in handling text-based data. The key contribution of this research is the integration of cosine similarity into the SVM algorithm as a replacement for kernel functions, improving performance in sentiment analysis. Additionally, this study offers a comprehensive comparison with baseline SVM and provides actionable insights for upcoming PON. The study collected 1,011 tweets related to PON 2024 using web scraping and the Twitter API, followed by labeling sentiments as positive, neutral, or negative. Several preprocessing techniques also were applied to prepare the data. Two models were developed: baseline SVM and another using SVM integrated with cosine similarity, both evaluated through accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The baseline SVM achieved 85.1% accuracy, 85% precision, 83% recall, and 83.3% F1-score, struggling particularly with negative sentiment. Opposite, by integrating cosine similarity on SVM, the performance improved to 88.73% accuracy, 88.3% precision, 89.3% recall, and 88.3% F1-score—a boost of 3.3-6.3%. Additionally, the public opinion revealed that positive sentiments mostly focused on athlete achievements and medal awards, while negative sentiments highlighted issues like referee performance and specific sports (e.g., football). This approach can serve as a valuable tool for event organizers to identify public concerns and maintain positive aspects for the upcoming PON 2028.
