Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by Google Forms on students’ learning outcomes in Science subjects at Grade VI of SD Negeri 3 Simpang Mamplam. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants consisted of 30 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a learning achievement test and a motivation questionnaire, both of which were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis involved normality, homogeneity, and Paired Sample T-Test to test the research hypothesis. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the PjBL model. The mean pre-test score of 66.67 increased to 84.50 in the post-test, with a t-count value (2.634) higher than the t-table value (2.060) at a 0.05 significance level. These results indicate that project-based learning assisted by Google Forms has a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. Overall, the PjBL model effectively enhanced students’ motivation, creativity, and critical thinking skills through contextual and collaborative learning experiences. Abstract

AbstractAugmented Reality (AR) technology can enhance learning by visualizing abstract concepts, such as complex science materials, and enriching students' learning experiences. At UPTD SD Negeri 27 Peusangan, the application of AR is expected to help students understand the reproduction of living things interactively and interestingly, considering the low critical thinking skills in conventional learning. Experimental research with the One Group Pretest-Posttest design showed that the use of AR improved students' critical thinking skills, with an increase percentage of 64.9%. The results of the study conducted at SD Negeri 27 Peusangan, the use of Augmented Reality technology in learning the reproduction of living things material showed quite good results. This can be seen from the pretest and posttest data which showed students' enthusiasm in learning and an increase in critical thinking skills in each indicator. In addition, it was also found that the use of Augmented Reality technology has an influence on increasing critical thinking skills with a percentage of 64.9%. This study involved 13 grade students. Keywords: augmented reality, critical thinking, reproduction of living things

Abstract

Pesisir Timur Pulau Weh (PTPW) is a water natural reserve conservation area located in the eastern part of Weh Island. The condition of coral substrates in PTPW has suffered a lot of damage based on bleaching cases that have hit Sabang waters in 2016. Coral conditions can be measured by looking at the abundance of fish indicators of the Chaetodontidae group. Therefore, this study aimed to measure coral conditions and the abundance of Chaetodontidae coral fish, as well as analyze the relationship between the percentage of coral cover and the abundance of Chaetodontidae coral fish. Data of coral were collected using the Point Intercept Transect method with a length of 50 meters, while the abundance of fish used the Underwater Visual Census technique and the Belt Transect method with a length of 50 meters and a total belt width of 5 meters. The results showed that the coral conditions in PTPW were in poor to fair condition with the highest cover at The Sumur Tiga site (36.83%) and the lowest at The Ujung Kareung site (11.5%). The highest abundance of Chaetodontidae fish was found at Ujung Seuke site (1253.3 ind/ha) and the lowest was found at Anoi Itam site (186.7 ind/ha). The results of the correlation analysis between the percentage of coral cover and the abundance of Chaetodontidae coral fish showed a positive relationship (r = 0.482), but it was not significant (p>0.05), and the regression equation obtained Y = 17.16x + 166.52 with a determination coefficient of 18.3%, which indicated that the correlation between the two variables was very weak.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Discovery Learning model and its impact on the development of students’ critical thinking and communication skills in the topic “Understanding Animal Life Cycles” for third-grade students at SD Negeri Kampung Besar. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observations, interviews, and documentation. All data were systematically analyzed using NVivo software to strengthen the coding process and thematic interpretation. The findings show that Discovery Learning creates a more active and meaningful learning environment through exploration, discussion, concept discovery, and reflection. Students became more engaged in independently constructing their understanding of animal life cycle stages, resulting in better comprehension and retention. Additionally, the model enhanced students’ critical thinking skills, particularly in distinguishing types of metamorphosis and providing logical, independent reasoning. Communication skills also improved through group discussions and presentations. Overall, Discovery Learning effectively increased students’ motivation, active participation, and learning effectiveness while strengthening essential 21st-century skills in elementary school learners.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of sugar palm (Arecaceae) plants in the Acehnese community in Gandapura District, Bireuen Regency. In collecting data, this study distributed questionnaires, semi-structured and open-ended free interviews to various age groups with a total of 11 questions. The research sample in this study amounted to 153 people. The sampling method was carried out using the purposeful sampling method; namely, the population has homogeneous and stratified elements/members. Samples were taken based on age groups, namely young adults (aged 20-35) who are actively working to earn a living; middle adults (aged 36-50) who are generally married and have a permanent residence; and older people (> 50 years) who are considered village leaders/elders and have influence in the village. The results showed that 13 types of sugar palm plants were utilized. The utilization of 13 types of plants consists of 7 types as food ingredients, 7 types as craft materials, 5 types as building materials, 7 types for traditional medicine, 2 types for traditional ceremonies and 5 types of ornamental plants. To determine the utilization of plant species diversity, an analysis of the level of importance of a plant species for the community was carried out, namely by calculating the Cultural Significance Index (ICS). The highest ICS value was found in the Cocos nucifera plant, namely 293, followed by Areca nut (Areca catechu) and Areca nut (Arenga pinnata) with values of 113 and 111.
