Abstract

Working mother factors, lack of knowledge about the benefits of breast milk, and the low support of assisting health workers are factors that influence the achievement of exclusive breast milk targets. The method of implementing community service activities was carried out with health counseling and assistance in the manufacture of milk bag milk milk cooler for 20 breastfeeding working mothers. Making cooler bags using cork as a material that is easily available and economical, is a breakthrough that can be made in helping to achieve exclusive breastfeeding programs. The purpose of this community service is to empower mothers through making cooler bags that are expected to improve the skills and confidence of working mothers in providing breast milk. The implementation of community service shows the results that mothers understand about the benefits of breast milk (80%), the statement of the attitude of mothers who are willing to milk breast milk in the workplace (80%), and all mothers are able to play a role in making cooler bags independently. Communities can learn independently (self learning) and can share experiences in preventing and tackling infant health, especially in fulfilling breast milk for infant growth and development

Abstract

Empowering students as elementary school students to become young nurses is an activity that can improve students' knowledge and skills so that they can become movers and supervisors for healthy behavior in the school environment. The method used in this service is the training of young nurses, mentoring, and evaluation. The material presented in the training of young nurses is how to care for wounds, personal hygiene care, how to wash hands with soap properly, how to measure weight and height, how to maintain cleanliness of the school environment, how to recognize signs and symptoms of diarrheal disease, and intestinal worms. It is hoped that through this training students can become movers and supervisors for healthy living behaviors in schools. Young nurses who are trained are expected to be able to do wound care, measure height, measure weight, teach how to wash hands with soap and conduct health education to other students. The results of this community service activity showed that most students had good knowledge, good attitude and good skills after attending training on washing hands with soap. Students' skills on how to treat wounds showed mostly good after attending training on how to treat wounds. Students' skills on how to measure height and weight showed a good overall after attending training on how to measure height and weight.

Abstract

Recognition of pregnancy danger plays an important role in preventing and reducing maternal mortality. Pregnant women can identify the danger signs of pregnancy. Therefore, the danger signs during pregnancy need to be known by pregnant women, especially those that threaten the health of the mother and the fetus who are pregnant. The minimum needs to be known by pregnant women in the community to recognize pregnancy danger signs, namely bleeding out of birth canal, excessive nausea, preeclampsia and eclampsia , premature rupture of membranes, and fetal movements that are not felt. Medan Sunggal Health Center is one of the village areas assisted by the USU Nursing Faculty. Based on the results of previous studies of pregnant women, it was found that there were still many pregnant women who did not know about the signs and dangers during pregnancy. The main cause is the limited knowledge of mothers about the signs and dangers of pregnancy and the mother's skills to overcome the lack of information about the signs and dangers of pregnancy. Posyandu cadres who have played an active role have been felt to be weak in providing education about information on signs and harms of pregnancy. Posyandu cadres have the potential for their role as agents of change. Therefore to overcome the problem of lack of information about the signs and dangers of pregnancy, it is necessary to improve the method of delivering information on signs and dangers of pregnancy, by involving several parties who can later collaborate in dealing with information problems for pregnant women, involving KIA officers from Sunggal Health Center, cadres , and invite pregnant women.

Abstract

Empowerment of third trimester pregnant women in preparation for lactation during the COVID 19 pandemic is expected to help mothers achieve success in breastfeeding their babies after giving birth. The problem found during the pandemic was that there were restrictions on almost all routine services including maternal and neonatal health services so that pregnant women were reluctant to go to puskesmas or other health service facilities for fear of being infected and there were recommendations to postpone antenatal care and pregnancy classes. The aim of this community service is to empower pregnant women in the third trimester to prepare for lactation during the COVID-19 pandemic, to provide information support to pregnant women so that mothers are confident and confident about breastfeeding, creating a strong intention for mothers to breastfeed their babies exclusively. The service method used is health education, discussions, demonstrations and video screenings. The results of community service activities obtained by most of the knowledge of pregnant women, both about prevention efforts that pregnant women can take during the COVID 19 pandemic, how to care for breasts, how to position breastfeeding and the benefits of breastfeeding.

Abstract

The rise of Covid 19 cases during this pandemic has compelled the government to implement various strategies and rules that the entire community must adhere to. Griffith University Australia (2020), Indonesia should no longer apply the 3M health protocol as a step to anticipate the spread of Covid 19. The increased number cases in Indonesia forces the implementation of 5M health protocol to prevent the spread of Covid 19, which includes washing hands with soap and running water, wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, avoiding crowds, and limiting mobility, in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Health. The start of 2021 offline learning in July becomes one of the major challenges that compels teachers to be familiar with this regulation. Therefore, various direct strategies to people are required in order to increase their knowledge and understanding. The objective of this community service is to increase the understanding and capacity of the teachers and all education personnel of MTs (Islamic Junior High School) Amaliyah to prevent the spread of Covid 19 by implementing the 5M health protocol, as well as assisting the provision of offline learning preparation tools such as masks, gloves, hand soap, disinfectants, social distancing stickers, and portable hand-washing stations.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) adalah parameter status gizi yang dapat memengaruhi keteraturan siklus menstruasi akibat perubahan hormon. Masalah gizi, baik kelebihan maupun kekurangan berat badan, dapat menyebabkan ketidakteraturan menstruasi yang berdampak pada kesehatan reproduksi. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara IMT dan siklus menstruasi pada siswi SMA di Kota Medan. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi meliputi 97 siswi SMA Namira Islamic School Medan, dengan sampel sebanyak 79 orang yang dipilih secara proportionate stratified random sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Spearman. Hasil: Mayoritas responden memiliki IMT kategori normal (45,6%) dan siklus menstruasi yang teratur (53,2%). Uji Spearman menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara IMT dan siklus menstruasi (p=0,001). Siswi dengan IMT dalam rentang normal cenderung memiliki siklus menstruasi teratur, sementara IMT tidak normal berhubungan dengan ketidakteraturan menstruasi. Kesimpulan: Menjaga IMT dalam rentang sehat dapat mendukung keteraturan siklus menstruasi dan berkontribusi positif terhadap kesehatan reproduksi. Diperlukan edukasi gizi yang intensif pada remaja untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga status gizi optimal.

Abstract

The success of exclusive breastfeeding is related to self-efficacy, the mother's belief in her ability to provide exclusive breastfeeding is getting better, and the support ofher husband plays an important role in increasing the mother's self-efficacy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of Ayah ASI group education on pregnant women's self-efficacy in breastfeeding plans. The method used was a quasi experimental non-equivalent with control group pretest-posttest intervention. The sample consisted of 27 respondents in the intervention group at the clinic of Neri midwife clinic and 27 respondents in the   control group at Pratama Niar clinic with consecutive sampling technique. The intervention was given in theform of “Ayah ASI” education for three weeks.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kinerja perawat merupakan salah satu faktor krusial dalam menunjang kualitas pelayanan kesehatan. Lingkungan kerja dan motivasi memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja perawat. Lingkungan kerja yang mendukung dan motivasi yang tinggi diyakini mampu mendorong perawat untuk bekerja secara optimal dan profesional. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan lingkungan kerja dengan kinerja perawat di RSU Mitra Medika Amplas. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 73 perawat yang bekerja di ruang rawat inap RSU Mitra Medika Amplas. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat, bivariat menggunakan uji pearson dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil: Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar perawat memiliki persepsi baik terhadap lingkungan kerja sebanyak 53 orang (72,6%), cukup baik sebanyak 19 orang (26%), dan kurang sebanyak 1 orang (1,4%). Kinerja perawat diketahui mayoritas berada dalam kategori baik sebanyak 43 orang (58,9%), cukup baik sebanyak 30 orang (41,1%). Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara lingkungan kerja dengan kinerja perawat di RSU Mitra Medika Amplas (p-value = 0,002). Kesimpulan:Lingkungan kerja memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap kinerja perawat. Lingkungan kerja yang baik dapat meningkatkan kinerja perawat dalam memberikan pelayanan keperawatan. Oleh karena itu, pihak rumah sakit diharapkan dapat menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang aman, nyaman, dan mendukung bagi perawat untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kerja dan kualitas pelayanan keperawatan. Kata Kunci: Lingkungan Kerja, Motivasi, Kinerja Perawat Abstract Background:Nurses' performance is a crucial factor in determining the quality of health services in hospitals. A conducive work environment, both physically and non-physically, can affect nurses' performance in carrying out their duties. RSU Mitra Medika Amplas has experienced an increase in Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) above the ideal standard and a high turnover rate among nurses, requiring attention to environmental factors that may affect their performance. Objective:This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the work environment and nurses' performance at RSU Mitra Medika Amplas. Method: This study used a quantitative correlational design. The sample of the study was 73 nurses working in the inpatient ward of RSU Mitra Medika Amplas. Data collection used a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out univariately, bivariate using the Pearson test with a confidence level of 95%. Results: The results of the analysis showed that most nurses had a good perception of the work environment as many as 53 people (72.6%), quite good as many as 19 people (26%), and less as many as 1 person (1.4%). The performance of nurses was known to be mostly in the good category as many as 43 people (58.9%), quite good as many as 30 people (41.1%). The results of the correlation test showed that there was a significant relationship between the work environment and the performance of nurses at RSU Mitra Medika Amplas (p-value = 0.002). Conclusion:There is a significant relationship between the work environment and nurses' performance. A supportive, safe, and comfortable work environment can improve nurses' productivity and the quality of nursing care services in hospitals. Keywords: Work Environment, Nurses' Performance

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Model Asuhan Keperawatan Profesional (MAKP) Tim merupakan metode pelayanan keperawatan yang menekankan kerja sama tim secara terstruktur dan terorganisasi. Di RSUD Kota Padangsidimpuan, penerapan MAKP Tim masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti ketidakseimbangan pembagian tugas, rendahnya koordinasi, serta kurangnya pemahaman tentang peran masing-masing anggota tim. Kondisi ini berpotensi memengaruhi kinerja perawat. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 64 perawat ruang rawat inap yang dipilih dengan teknik  sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri dari tiga bagian: implementasi MAKP Tim, kepuasan kerja, dan kinerja perawat. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat, bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil: Hasil analisis menunjukkan sebagian besar perawat memiliki tingkat implementasi MAKP tim dalam kategori tidak baik sebanyak 46 orang (71,9%) dan baik sebanyak 18 orang (28.1%). Kinerja perawat diketahui mayoritas berada pada ketegori cukup baik sebanyak 29 orang (45,3%), tidak baik sebanyak 24 orang (37,5 %). Hasil uji bivariat menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara implementasi MAKP Tim dengan kinerja perawat di RSUD Kota Padangsidimpuan 0.001 (p< 0.005)  Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara implementasi MAKP Tim dengan kinerja perawat di ruang rawat inap RSUD Kota Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Resusitasi Jantung Paru (RJP) merupakan bagian dari kinerja perawat dalam pencegahan kecacatan dan kematian untuk menjaga keselamatan pasien di Instalasi Gawat Darurat (IGD). Kinerja perawat dalam RJP berkaitan dengan motivasi dan Self-Efficacy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan motivasi dan self-efficacy terhadap kinerja perawat dalam pelaksanaan RJP di IGD Rumah Sakit di Medan. Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel 73 perawat yang diambil dengan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa kuesioner motivasi, self-efficacy, dan kinerja perawat yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data menggunakan uji pearson dan regresi linier berganda dengan p-value 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas perawat memiliki motivasi tinggi 93,2%, self-efficacy tinggi 97,3%, dan kinerja perawat seluruhnya baik. Terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi dengan kinerja (p=0,000; r=0,425) serta antara self-efficacy dengan kinerja (p=0,000; r=0,401), yang berarti semakin tinggi motivasi dan self-efficacy maka semakin baik kinerja perawat. Analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel berpengaruh signifikan dengan motivasi sebagai faktor dominan (β=0,350; p=0,001) . Kesimpulan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara motivasi dan self-efficacy dalam meningkatkan kinerja perawat pada pelaksanaan RJP. Manajer keperawatan perlu mengoptimalkan pelatihan berbasis simulasi klinis dan supervisi guna meningkatkan mutu pelayanan keperawatan gawat darurat.
