Abstract

The concept of science is related to epistemology, because epistemology is the theory of science. The problem in this modern century, discussion on epistemology suggests a dividing line between science and religion. All science must be empirical in nature, in which brings human understanding into nihilism, relativism and materialism, which is a milestone in the emergence of seculerism and other issues. Then, what is science according to Islam? What are the basic and primacy of it? How does Islam look at sources of right science? How the way of reaching it? Is there any classification of science in Islam? This paper will attempt to answer and discuss these questions clearly and pithily in Fakhr al-Din al-Razi’s perspective. In this regard, al-Razi sees that science is an understanding which delivered on the wisdom of anything, no doubt that science on ru>h}, further delivering on perfect happinest. In addition, in his book al-Tafsīr al-Kabīr, Fakhr al-Din al-Razi explains that science has a semblance of meaning with 30 other terms i.e. al-Idrāk, al-Syu'ūr, al-Tas}awwur, al-H}ifz}, al-Tadzakkur, al-Dzikr, al-Ma'rifah, al-Fahm, al-Fiqh, al-'Aql, al-Dirāyah, al-H}ikmah, 'ain al-Yaqīn, al-Dzihn, al-Fikr, al-H}adi>ts, al-Dzakā', al-Fat}a>nah, al-Khāt}ir, al-Z}an, al-Tanbīh, al-Khayāl, al-Badīhah, al-Auliyyāt, al-Ruwayyah, al-Kiyāsah, al-Khibrah, al-Ra'yu, al-Firāsah, and al-Bayyinah. From this brief exposure, in tries to discuss the uniqueness of Fakhr al-Din al-Razi thought about science concept using two approaches, philosophy and tafsir, to make it more interesting topic.

In order to enquire into the discussion, Researcher utilized the 'Discourse-Analysis' method uncovering the ideological substance of Covidiot, starting from its definition and history, followed by an analysis concerning a relationship between COVID-19 and the Post-Truth era. The research continued with a proper comprehension regarding the impact of Covidiot on society and ended with a reflection regarding how Covidiot symbolized an act of 'Anti-Authoritarianism' and 'Anti-Religiousity'. This paper concluded that Covidiot in the Post-Truth society is in urgent demand of the sustained approach from government officers and religious figures to successively educate society further about the jeopardy of Covidiot.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze Abdurrauf Singkel's concept of Insan Kamil to address the problems of sexual consent, childfree, and nature and nurture which frequently arise in urban society. These issues are a common phenomenon in contemporary urban society due to their materialistic lifestyle and the pursuit of worldly goals by denying their true nature (fitrah). Sufism's concept of "Insan Kamil" depicts the ideal human being from every perspective—that is, the ideal human being as he is by nature. This concept of the perfect human will serve as an antidote to the three problems above, each of which is a deviation from the essence of human nature. This paper is a qualitative library research that analyzes data using an analytical descriptive method. This study concludes that, first and foremost all of these issues stem from the same root cause which is a denial of human nature. As a concept of the perfect human, Insan Kamil is a manifestation of achieving the pinnacle of humanity based on true human nature. Insan Kamil is also a condition of servitude to the highest degree or ihsan. Therefore, this concept is relevant to overcoming the root problems of sexual consent, childfree, and nature and nurture which stem from the denial of one's nature. By becoming Insan Kamil, someone can place himself according to his nature in the right and proper place.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the complexity of Indonesia's social, cultural, and religious diversity, which often triggers incidents of intolerance. The aim of this study is to examine how the concept of multiculturalism implemented by Prophet Muhammad SAW in the Charter of Medina can serve as a model for managing diversity in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were collected from primary sources such as the text of the Charter of Medina and classical historical texts, as well as secondary sources including journals, books, and previous relevant studies. Data collection was conducted through documentation, and the analysis used content analysis techniques with descriptive and comparative approaches. The findings indicate that the Charter of Medina embodies multicultural principles that ensure equal rights, freedom of religion, and inter-community cooperation, including the protection of minority groups. The charter successfully unified the plural and conflict-prone society of Medina into an organized and peaceful community. The conclusion of this study is that the values within the Charter of Medina can serve as an inspirational model for managing diversity in Indonesia, particularly in strengthening tolerance, social harmony, and national unity. This study recommends further research to explore the implementation of these values in public policy and multicultural education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the dialogical da'wah model of Bro Shah Kirit and the role of the Global Unity Network in promoting interfaith communication in Malaysia. The research is grounded in the growing need for approaches to Islamic preaching that respond peacefully and intelligently to religious diversity in a multicultural society. This study employs a qualitative approach with a field research method, encompassing direct observation in interfaith forums, analysis of sermons and public recordings, as well as brief interviews with speakers and participants involved in the activities. The findings reveal that Bro Shah emphasizes respectful dialogue, critical engagement with religious texts, logical reasoning, and appreciation for other faith traditions as the foundation of his communication style. The Global Unity Network functions as a platform for interfaith education through seminars, workshops, and public discussions. This study concludes that the dialogical da'wah approach serves as an effective strategy to foster social harmony, mutual understanding, and inclusive religious engagement in plural societies.

Abstract

Beyond Religious Coping: Reconstructing Al-Ghazali's Concept of Tawakal into a Psychospiritual Healing Model for Chronic Anxiety : Melampaui Koping Religius: Merekonstruksi Konsep Tawakal Al-Ghazali menjadi Model Penyembuhan Psikospiritual untuk Kecemasan Kronis Tistigar Sansayto; Jarman Arroisi; Era Fazira Siregar; Masriyah Sunada Wadi

Abstract

Chronic anxiety has become an increasingly significant mental health challenge, while existing studies have predominantly conceptualized tawakkul as a religious coping strategy without systematically explaining its underlying psychospiritual mechanism. This study aims to reconstruct Al-Ghazali's concept of tawakal into a comprehensive psychospiritual healing framework for addressing chronic anxiety and to examine its theoretical implications for contemporary Islamic psychotherapy. This study employed a qualitative library research design using conceptual analysis. The primary data source was Al-Ghazali's Iḥyāʾ ʿUlūm al-Dīn, particularly Kitāb al-Tawḥīd wa al-Tawakkul, supported by contemporary literature on Islamic psychology, Islamic psychotherapy, and mental health. Data were collected through systematic document analysis and analyzed using thematic content analysis combined with conceptual synthesis. The findings reveal that tawakal is a structured psychospiritual process consisting of five interconnected stages: Tawhid Reinforcement, Cognitive Reorientation, Responsible Human Effort (Ikhtiyār), Tafwīḍ, and Ṭumaʾnīnah. These stages were synthesized into the Al-Ghazali's Tawakal-Based Spiritual Healing (ATSH) Model, which explains how theological beliefs facilitate cognitive transformation, emotional regulation, behavioural engagement, and spiritual restoration in reducing chronic anxiety. The proposed model provides a conceptual foundation for the development of culturally and spiritually responsive Islamic psychotherapy and may inform future counselling, spiritual care, and Muslim mental health interventions. The originality of this study lies in reconstructing Al-Ghazali's classical thought into a systematic psychospiritual healing model, thereby bridging classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary Islamic psychotherapy and providing a theoretical framework for future empirical research.

Abstract

Muslims, as the religious majority in Indonesia, face challenges posed by the missionary activities of other faith groups, particularly Christians. Meanwhile, globalization, easy access to information, and increasing interfaith interaction necessitate a generation of *da’is* (Islamic preachers) who possess not only an understanding of and commitment to Islamic studies but also the intellectual competence to comprehend other religions in a balanced and objective manner. A recurring issue is the limited literacy regarding Christology and the dynamics of missionary movements; consequently, responses to these matters are often emotional rather than grounded in accurate knowledge. This community service initiative aims to enhance the understanding and intellectual acuity of santri (Islamic boarding school students) regarding the fundamentals of Christology and the characteristics of missionary movements from an academic perspective, while also fostering a da’wah (preaching) paradigm that is argumentative, courteous, and knowledge-based. The activity was conducted as an interactive seminar at the Nurul Bayan Islamic Boarding School in North Lombok. The methodology employed included lectures, dialogue, case studies, and question-and-answer sessions. The results indicate increased participant enthusiasm for the study of religions, a growing awareness of the importance of mastering the subject matter prior to engaging in da’wah, and an improved ability among participants to identify contemporary challenges facing da’wah.
