Abstract

The digital transformation in higher education necessitates a reliable academic advising information system to enhance student support and academic decision-making. This study presents the design of an Academic Advising Information System using a Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach to address various challenges in academic advising, including ineffective communication, fragmented platforms, and inefficient documentation. By applying HCD principles, the system prioritizes usability, accessibility, and emotional considerations, ensuring an intuitive and supportive user experience for both students and academic advisors. This study follows an iterative development framework, integrating user insights through observations, interviews, and iterative improvements to refine system features such as advising history tracking and streamlined communication channels. The results indicate that the application of HCD effectively optimizes advising interactions, reduces administrative burdens, and enhances student engagement. This study contributes to the broader discourse on user-centered educational technology, emphasizing the importance of aligning digital solutions with user expectations. Future research should explore the scalability and adaptability of this system across various academic institutions to validate its broader applicability.

Abstract

In the digital era, information technology plays a crucial role in supporting disaster management. One of the increasingly utilized technologies is Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which enables interactive spatial data mapping. This study aims to design and develop a real-time data-based GIS system to provide up-to-date information, support rapid decision-making, and enhance early warning systems, thereby improving the resilience of Indonesian communities in facing disasters. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method to design a real-time data-based GIS system. The results indicate that this system enhances the effectiveness of disaster management in Indonesia. Based on trials, the system can deliver accurate and fast real-time data. For example, during a flood simulation, data on rising water levels and critical locations could be accessed in less than 30 seconds, enabling immediate mitigation measures. The system also fosters collaboration among government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and communities. During testing, 90% of participants reported that the interactive maps and evacuation route information helped them plan evacuation actions more effectively. This demonstrates that GIS technology not only supports emergency responders but also empowers communities by providing essential information for disaster preparedness.

Abstract

In the globalized landscape of higher education, developing communicative competence in foreign language learners is essential for academic, social, and professional success. This article explores innovative, student-centered strategies beyond traditional grammar-based instruction to enhance linguistic proficiency, cultural understanding, and pragmatic awareness. This study highlights their impact on fostering real-world communication skills by emphasizing interactive methods such as role-playing, task-based learning, debates, and integrating authentic materials. Furthermore, the findings demonstrate that students engaging in these approaches show marked improvements in fluency, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity. Role-playing scenarios and debates enhance spoken communication, critical thinking, and argumentation skills, while task-based activities encourage collaboration and purposeful language use. Exposure to authentic resources bridges the gap between classroom learning and practical application, deepening students' comprehension of idiomatic expressions, cultural norms, and socio-linguistic nuances. Despite challenges like resource limitations and technological barriers, the study underscores the transformative potential of these methods. By addressing implementation hurdles through digital innovation and tailored pedagogy, educators can create a robust framework that prepares students for the demands of global communication. This article advocates for continued research and adaptation to refine these strategies, ensuring their effectiveness across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Instagram social media is a platform that is widely used by the public and government agencies to interact, obtain information and share information widely and quickly using internet network technology. This is used by government agencies, the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, in conveying ideas, ideas, programs and strategies to the public in order to realize state goals and fulfill the information needs of the public in obtaining information related to the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia via the Instagram account @infobnn_ri. The research on this account aims to find out whether there is an "Effect of Using Instagram @infobnn_ri on Fulfilling the Information Needs of BNN Followers". The theory used in this research is the Uses and Gratification theory. This research uses quantitative methods with a positivism paradigm and uses a questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The research results show that there is a significant influence between the use of social media Instagram @infobnn_ri and the information needs of followers

Abstract

This research recommends areas for establishing junior high schools in Cugenang, Pacet, and Cipanas (3 districts in Cianjur, Indonesia). It uses a descriptive quantitative. The spatial classification and analysis method with the Union feature Geographic Information System (GIS) overlay technique is applied – considering seven parameters: roads, slope, land use, population, fault, landslide danger, and earthquake danger. All of them are used as indicators to determine the suitability of the area. As a result, a map showing areas with five categories is created. Furthermore, in areas with very suitable categories, the researchers provide further testing with Satellite Imagery reviews to validate the coordinates of priority options. The researchers determined forty-nine priority option coordinates in nineteen villages and adapted these into a number script for user convenience. Supporting educational equality as one of the national priorities for 2030, the researchers are proposing these results.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are a growing concern among information technology (IT) professionals. Understanding the specific risk factors associated with MSDs among employers, occupational health practitioners, and IT professionals may reveal effective preventive measures. The aim of this study was to examine the prevalence and identify the risk factors associated with MSDs among IT professionals. A comprehensive literature search was conducted on several databases, including PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Online Library Wiley, Springer, Web of Science, and manual searches to identify relevant studies published between 2013 and 2023. The search strategy employed appropriate keywords related to IT professionals, musculoskeletal disorders, prevalence, and risk factors. Two reviewers independently assessed each article using PRISMA guidelines and the Joanna Briggs Institute’s (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist for Prevalence Data. Data extraction was performed, and a narrative synthesis was conducted to summarize the findings. Our search yielded a total of 1159 records, with 13 studies finally included in this review. The selected studies were from several countries and contained a total of 4632 participants. The prevalence of MSDs was reported with a maximum rate of 89% and a minimum rate of 20%, reflecting the overall percentage of affected individuals and including data on specific body areas affected. Identified risk factors from the selected studies include work duration, experience, sex, strenuous back positions, smoking, physical inactivity, MSD history, uncomfortable workstation setting, mental stress, insufficient sleep, body posture, exercise status, alcohol consumption, prolonged sitting, workspace, job demands, overexertion, breaks during work, and excessive usage of smartphones.

This presentation examines the sources, prevalence, and health impacts of BPA, alongside regulatory measures to mitigate its risks. BPA, not naturally occurring, enters the environment via industrial waste and consumer product degradation.

Abstract

Permenkes RI No.24 Tahun 2022 tentang rekam medis elektronik yaitu fasilitas pelayanan Kesehatan wajib menerapkan rekam medis elektronik paling lambat pada tanggal 31 Desember 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Tingkat kesiapan penggunaan RME menggunakan etode DOQ-ITJenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini melibatkan 6 informan dan 1 penilai ahli dalam bidangnya (expert). Analisis data yaitu reduksi data kemudian dilakukan data display melalui skoring atau penilaian yang sesuai medtode DOQ-it. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa dengan metode DOQ-IT pada variable SDM 19, budaya kerja organisasi 36, tata kelola kepemimpinan 31, dan infrastruktur IT 35 sehingga total skor keseluruhan 121. Kesiapan penerapan RME pada layanan rawat jalan RS UNS menggunakan metode DOQ-IT masuk pada kategori range III, hal ini menunjukan bahwa layanan rawat jalan RS UNS sangat siap menerapkan RME.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of information technology implementation on the effectiveness and efficiency of services at PKU Muhammadiyah Mayong Jepara Hospital. The application of information technology is expected to improve service quality by facilitating quick, accurate, and easy access to medical information. In this study, a descriptive quantitative approach was used to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of hospital services, involving 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling method. Data was collected through observation and questionnaires, and analyzed using multiple linear regression method with the help of SPSS software version 25. The results showed that the application of information technology has a significant influence on the effectiveness and efficiency of hospital services. Effectiveness is measured based on patient satisfaction, appropriate clinical decision-making, and prevention of medical errors. While efficiency is measured through indicators of BOR (Bed Occupancy Rate), ALOS (Average Length of Stay), TOI (Turn Over Interval), and BTO (Bed Turn Over). The implementation of information systems is proven to be able to improve productivity, reliability, and speed of hospital services. This research provides a theoretical contribution in understanding the role of information technology in the health sector, as well as providing practical benefits for hospital management in improving service strategies that are more efficient and effective.

Abstract

Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) yang berkompeten merupakan indikator terpenting dalam kemajuan suatu perusahaan. Jika pengelolaan SDM dilakukan dengan proses yang baik, maka perusahaan akan mendapatkan karyawan yang berkompeten dibidangnya. Salah satu cara mendapatkan karyawan yang berkompeten adalah melalui proses pengangkatan karyawan magang. Namun saat ini proses pengangkatan karyawan magang masih dilakukan secara manual. Perlu adanya sebuah sistem yang mampu membantu menunjang kebutuhan dalam proses pengangkatan karyawan magang agar prosesnya dalam terkomputerisasi dan keputusan yang diambil bisa secara cepat dan efisien. Melalui Algoritma Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) proses perhitungan dapat dilakukan dengan efektif. Hasil yang di peroleh dari perhitungan menggunakan metode MAUT dapat digunakan sebagai rekomendasi oleh pihak terkait guna menunjang proses pengangkatan karyawan magang.
