Abstract

The adoption of Information Technology (IT) by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has become essential in the digital era. Nevertheless, challenges persist, such as enhancing IT adoption in the MSMEs sector and optimizing its benefits. This research aims to create a comprehensive model based on the Technology- Organization-Environment (TOE) framework by analyzing technological, organizational, and environmental factors influencing IT adoption among MSMEs in Pangandaran, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach, an online questionnaire was distributed to MSMEs, and data were analyzed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS- SEM) through SmartPLS. The study significantly contributes to understanding IT adoption, emphasizing organizational context as the primary predictor, followed by technological and environmental contexts. Positive relationships were found between four contextual constructs: complexity, top management support, organizational readiness, and competitive pressure towards IT adoption in MSMEs. Conversely, compatibility and government support exhibited negative impacts. These findings have practical implications for Indonesian MSMEs by enhancing understanding of factors influencing IT adoption to support business operations. Furthermore, these findings hold the potential to assist MSMEs and the Indonesian government in optimizing IT adoption success. The generated data can be employed by MSMEs management authorities to devise strategies for enhancing IT adoption among MSMEs.

Abstract

The rise of social media has transformed the way people express opinions, including in political contexts. In the 2024 East Java Gubernatorial Election, social media platform X became a major outlet for public sentiment toward the governor and deputy governor candidates. This study aims to analyse public sentiment toward three candidate pairs by categorizing the data into three sentiment classes: positive, negative, and neutral. Feature selection was conducted by combining Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) with Chi-Square and Mutual Information (MI) methods to improve feature quality. The Random Forest algorithm was employed as the primary classification model. In addition, several other algorithms were tested for comparison. The results indicate that the TF-IDF and Chi-Square combination with Random Forest achieved the highest accuracy of 82.07%. These findings highlight the importance of feature selection in improving model performance for sentiment classification. The study provides insights into public opinion that can serve as a reference for strategic decision-making in the political and public sectors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of the policy of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 70 of 2019 concerning the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) at the Bone Bolango Regency Health Office. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation studies. The indicators used in this study have 4 aspects, namely 1) communication, 2) resources, 3) disposition, and 4) organizational structure. The results of the study show that the implementation of SIPD has not been optimal. This is due to several factors, including the limitation of competent human resources in the field of information technology, lack of technical training, internet network constraints, and lack of maximum support for facilities and infrastructure. In addition, coordination between work units also needs to be improved to support better data integration. Therefore, the government must improve infrastructure to support the implementation of policies, such as strengthening the SIPD network and servers. Then conduct training on human resources and improve facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

The rise of provocative content related to natural disasters on TikTok over the past five years indicates a significant shift in people's information consumption patterns. This study aims to analyze how netizens construct, respond to, and interpret this content, particularly in the cases of floods and flash floods in Sibolga, Padang, and Aceh. Using a constructivist paradigm, this study adopted a qualitative approach with a netnography method that focuses on the dynamics of digital interactions on TikTok. Data were collected through online observation, content downloads, comment interactions, and visual-narrative analysis. All data were then coded using NVivo 12 Plus software to identify thematic patterns. The research findings reveal three main findings. First, provocative content on TikTok is constructed through dramatic narratives, the use of visual effects, and the choice of emotional diction that reinforces the sense of threat. Second, netizen responses shape the negotiation of meaning through three patterns: amplification of fear, clarification based on local experience, and critical reframing. Third, the spread of unverified information is fueled by low digital literacy, the speed of TikTok information circulation, and the lack of intervention from authoritative actors in providing prompt clarification. This research confirms that TikTok acts as a discursive space that influences public perception of disasters, thus requiring strengthening disaster communication strategies through collaboration between the government, media, and digital communities. These findings provide theoretical contributions to the study of disaster communication and social media, and offer practical recommendations for limiting the escalation of provocative messages on digital platforms.

Abstract

Hypertension remains a major public health problem in Indonesia. Many patients fail to adhere to dietary recommendations despite increasing access to health information, indicating a gap between information exposure and dietary behavior. This study aimed to examine the influence of health information access and family support on health literacy and dietary adherence among hypertensive patients in Lumajang Regency. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 227 hypertensive patients aged 17–65 years recruited from four primary healthcare centers using probability sampling. Health information access was measured using the Health Information National Trends Survey, health literacy using the Health Literacy Survey – European Union Questioners version Indonesia (HLS-EU-Q12 ID), dietary adherence using the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension Questionnaire, and family support was also assessed. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that greater access to health information was associated with higher health literacy (β=0.150, p=0.035), but with a lower likelihood of dietary adherence (β = −0.251, p < 0.001). Family support increased the likelihood of higher health literacy (β = 0.241, p < 0.001) and better dietary adherence (β = 0.135, p = 0.038), while higher health literacy substantially increased the likelihood of dietary adherence (β = 0.277, p < 0.001). These findings indicate that increased exposure to health information does not automatically lead to healthier dietary behavior. Family support plays a crucial role in translating health knowledge into practice, highlighting the importance of family involvement and practical, easy-to-understand health information to improve dietary adherence among rural hypertensive patients in rural areas.

Abstract

As mentioned by article 1 point 1 in Regulation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2016, mediation is an alternative resort to solve disputes through negotiation used to reach a consensus in the presence of a mediator. Mediation as an alternative dispute resolution reflects the Fourth Precept of Pancasila as the nation's character which implies resolving disputes through deliberation. Prioritizing communication is a form of deliberation carried out with the purpose of re-agreements, where there will be a possibility to improve the relationship between the parties. Resolving conflicts through mediation is an attempt to end complicated issues through a process that is time-saving and relatively cheap in providing win-win solutions. In Indonesia, the existence of mediation is based on the Regulation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1 of 2016. Mediation has also been set as a mandatory process in the path of resolving disputes in the civil court. The method of information dissemination is carried out to create awareness regarding the new law enforced, which includes lectures and interaction. The research team in collaboration with the Maleber Village held an information dissemination activity based on the Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2016 concerning Mediation. This activity would be very useful for all the parties facing conflicts as well as advisors or for third parties (mediators), such as the village apparatus, families, traditional leaders, community leaders, and other parties who are becoming completely aware of the negotiation and mediation.

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) literacy is very important and should be taught even in early education. Proper use of IT is needed by the young generations today. Introduction to IT should be done while still in elementary school. However, since the infrastructure of Indonesia is not even among the cities, a glimpse of IT is a privilege enjoyed by students in big cities. Students in smaller cities often face difficulties and tardiness regarding the use of technology. For instance, the students of SD Negeri 02 Sijuk have deficiencies in facilities and infrastructure, which causes a low level of literacy in information technology. Therefore, basic computer skill training was created to introduce the technology to its students. In this training, the students are taught to design and process text and images to create attractive presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. The students showed very high enthusiasm when the training was carried out. In the end, through this training, the students were successfully introduced to the use of information technology.
