Abstract

Information services are an interactive process designed to help users find, understand, and use information according to their needs. In the context of libraries, information services should not only provide access, but also ensure that the information is appropriate and relevant to the development of knowledge and changes in user needs. The development of information technology and the increasing use of social media have accelerated the circulation of information, while at the same time posing new challenges for libraries to continue to provide up-to-date, focused, and accountable services. This situation has forced libraries to implement knowledge management as a way to manage institutional knowledge, librarian experience, and various information sources so that they can be used optimally in their services. This study aims to determine how knowledge management is applied in library information services as a strategy to deal with changes caused by the development of information technology. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The SLR method is used to find, analyze, assess, and understand all existing research related to interesting phenomena, with specific research questions related to knowledge management and library information services. The results of the study indicate that knowledge management is carried out through information sharing activities between librarians, recording work experiences, using social media to disseminate information, and processing data on user information needs. This application helps librarians better understand what users need, encourages service innovation, and strengthens the relevance of available collections and information content. The results of this study indicate that knowledge management can be used as a strategic approach to improve library information services in the digital age. From a theoretical perspective, this study adds insight into the integration of the concepts of knowledge management and information services. From a practical perspective, the results of this study provide a basis for developing library service programs that focus on knowledge sharing and information technology, so that the services provided become more flexible, responsive, and suited to changing user needs.

Abstract

Scholarship information is time-sensitive, detailed, and closely related to educational decision-making, requiring digital media that can present information clearly, relevantly, and accessibly. This study analyzes the Instagram account @info_beasiswa as a medium for fulfilling scholarship information needs from the perspective of Media Richness Theory. The novelty of this study lies in applying Media Richness Theory to a popular Instagram account specifically dedicated to scholarship information in the context of educational information needs. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 100 followers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 23 items and were supported by observation, documentation, and brief interviews with the account manager. The analysis focused on four dimensions: immediacy of feedback, multiple cues, language variety, and personal focus. The findings show that all dimensions were in the very high category, with multiple cues obtaining the highest grand mean score (3.53), followed by language variety (3.45), personal focus (3.39), and immediacy of feedback (3.31). These results indicate that @info_beasiswa mainly supports followers’ information needs through varied content formats, visual presentation, clear language, and relevant scholarship content, although rapid interpersonal feedback remains the least dominant dimension. This study contributes to library and information science by showing how Instagram can function as an intermediary information source for recognizing, understanding, and following up scholarship opportunities.

Abstract

A presidential election is an important national event where people use their right to vote as a form of their participation in affording a legitimate national leader. Santri is part of the community to vote in the 2024 Presidential Election. Santri are a community group that lives in an environment with distinctive characteristics such as a limited social environment, restrictions on the use of gadgets, and great obedience to kyai. This research aims to explore the students’ behavior in retrieving the information they need to vote in the election, to find out both the internal and external aspects that influence them in making their decisions. This research involves 67 informants taken from the students of Al Imdad Top Islamic High School, who have the right to vote in the 2024 Presidential Election. Data collection is done by asking open questions concerning the aspects of information searching, such as information sources, information search, information evaluation, and information use. Then the data are analyzed in 3 steps: coding, identifying the theme, pattern, and relation, and summarizing the data. The research result shows that basically the santri (students) have performed the four important aspects of information seeking but in different level of implementation. Limited access to electronic information plays a role in the process of gathering information about the presidential election. Therefore, human information sources in the santri environment, such as kyai and teachers become an alternative source and consequently, these figures influence santris in making decision. Although the students evaluate the information provided by these figures, it is less critical than it should be. This study ultimately found that santri have participated in the democratic process in Indonesia, but on the other hand, santri still need to have information literacy skills to ensure that they are able to search for, evaluate, and use information to participate in civic engagement, so that in making decisions they are not influenced by authoritative figures, but rather depend more on authoritative information sources.

Abstract

Information dissemination is one of the primary activities carried out by various institutions, particularly those in the information services sector. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency is a government agency that regularly disseminates information on climate, weather, and natural disasters, and has been innovating in its information dissemination methods. Having maintained a YouTube channel since 2017, this agency began innovating by using digital characters—known as virtual YouTubers (VTubers)—in 2024. Based on observations of its channel, the number of viewers accessing information presented by these digital characters tends to be higher compared to content without them. These virtual YouTubers have become a unique attraction for the public and align with the digital culture of young people. This is one of the key motivations behind this study. Additionally, this research aims to understand how the public responds to the information dissemination innovations implemented by the government agency, in this case the BMKG Gowa, when using digital characters as its medium. This study examines the public’s reception, understanding, and evaluation of the information dissemination conducted by the BMKG Gowa. The research method employed was quantitative, involving the collection of responses from 397 participants. Data analysis was based on the theory of information dissemination strategies, which encompasses the recipient, source, information content, context, and medium. These five factors serve as the primary indicators for measuring information dissemination in this study. The results of this study indicate that information dissemination using virtual YouTubers is well-received and positively evaluated by a significant portion of the public. Furthermore, the use of virtual YouTubers does not affect the public’s level of understanding regarding the information presented. The public remains able to clearly understand and trust the accuracy and relevance of the information provided.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, archival institutions increasingly rely on information systems to ensure sustainable access to organizational knowledge. The effectiveness of knowledge retrieval in archival systems has become increasingly critical in the digital era. However, existing studies remain fragmented, with limited integrative analysis of technological, organizational, and user-related factors. This study addresses this gap by systematically reviewing the influence of information system implementation on knowledge retrieval effectiveness in archival contexts. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted on 28 peer-reviewed articles indexed in Scopus and Taylor & Francis, published between 2015 and 2025. The selected studies were analyzed using a structured classification approach to identify key variables, measurement indicators, and implementation challenges. The findings reveal that knowledge retrieval effectiveness is shaped by five interconnected dimensions: digital infrastructure transformation, metadata standardization, system interoperability, retrieval system integration, and cross-professional collaboration. Effectiveness is commonly assessed using retrieval performance metrics, metadata quality, user interface, user experience, and data accessibility. Despite these advancements, persistent challenges continue to hinder optimal system performance. This study contributes to the literature by proposing an integrative analytical perspective that links technological, organizational, and user-centered dimensions in evaluating archival knowledge retrieval, thereby addressing the lack of synthesis in prior research. The results highlight that successful implementation depends not only on technological capability but also on alignment with governance structures and user readiness. These findings have practical implications for archival institutions and policymakers in designing adaptive, interoperable, and user-oriented information systems to enhance sustainable access to knowledge

Abstract

This study investigates the transformation of public services through the implementation of the Regional Development Planning Information System (SIPD) application at the Secretariat of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Baubau City. Preliminary findings suggest that the adoption of SIPD has driven a shift towards more digital, efficient, and transparent administrative processes, supported by the availability of technology infrastructure, improved human resource competencies, and data security effectiveness. However, realizing the full potential of SIPD for the optimization of public services requires continuous strengthening of these three crucial aspects. Inadequate technological infrastructure, human resource competency gaps, and hybrid data management are critical areas of intervention to ensure the sustainability of digital transformation. The implications of this study confirm the need for technological infrastructure updates, adaptive training programs, and comprehensive integration of data management systems to strengthen security and efficiency. Further studies are recommended to quantify the impact of this transformation as well as explore innovative strategies for hybrid legislative data management to identify best practices and improve comprehensive security.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of leverage, working capital efficiency, and value relevance of accounting information on investment decisions with dividend policy serving as an intervening variable. The research data source utilizes the financial statements of LQ45 companies from 2019 to 2024 and uses secondary data. The sample for this study consists of 19 companies out of 45 companies obtained using purposive sampling method for 6 consecutive years with dividend distribution. The influence test uses multiple linear regression and mediation analysis through path analysis. The outcomes showed that the independent variables simultaneously influenced the dependent variable in both model 1 and model 2. Only the leverage of the partial test is significant on dividend policy and investment decisions, while dividend policy does not mediate independent variables on investment decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize international journal articles on the relationships among Product Value Proposition, Source Information, Trust, Purchase Intention, and Purchase Decision in the context of Umrah travel services. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted, analyzing 42 peer-reviewed articles retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, Taylor & Francis Online, SpringerLink, Wiley Online Library, and Google Scholar during 2003–2024, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The findings indicate that Product Value Proposition and Source Information act as initial stimuli reducing uncertainty and forming Trust. Trust then strengthens Purchase Intention, which subsequently leads to Purchase Decision. This study contributes to the literature by integrating Asymmetric Information Theory, Signaling Theory, Trust Theory, and the Theory of Planned Behavior into a conceptual framework specific to Umrah travel services, addressing both theoretical gaps and practical implications for PPIU providers.
