Abstract

The issue of feed has a large proportion of the sustainability of livestock businesses. On the other hand, palm fronds as post-harvest agricultural waste and bran as post-processing waste have not been utilized optimally. Even though the nutritional content contained in it is quite high. Agricultural and plantation waste by-products have good potential for use as animal feed. In order to guarantee safety and suitability, further processing and analysis is needed. Processing of raw materials is carried out in a combination (physical, chemical and biological). Preparation of feed formulations using Pearson's Quadrilateral Method. Testing is carried out in laboratories that consistently apply ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 from the National Accreditation Committee (KAN), namely the East Java Province Animal Husbandry Service. The standard test results refer to SNI 3148-2:2017 concerning Concentrate Feed for Fattening Beef Cattle. Ruminant animal feed that meets SNI 3148-2:2017 includes levels of ash, crude fat, phosphorus, TDN, aflatoxin and crude fiber. Meanwhile, the nutritional content that is close to SNI is crude protein and aNDF. The test results also showed that the content did not meet SNI, including water and calcium content. Meanwhile, fish feed (pellets) that meet SNI 01-4087-2006 contain 3 types of content including ash, crude fat and aflatoxin. The types of content that do not meet SNI are crude protein, crude fiber, phosphorus, buoyancy and pellet diameter. The estimated cost of making ruminant feed is IDR 5,986 per kilogram. Cost analysis is relevant to feed quality and daily requirements without reducing nutritional value. Further research is needed to ensure that artificial feed is more cost efficient than conventional feed.

Abstract

Marketing channels, marketing margins, efficiency and elasticity of marketing price transmission for white pepper in Sambas Regency will be the objectives of this research. Quantitative descriptive methods were used in this research. Non-probability sampling is a technique used with the purposive sampling method. Primary and secondary sources are the data used. Marketing margin analysis, marketing channel efficiency, and price transmission elasticity are some of the methods used. The results of this research show that there are two different marketing channels for white pepper in Sambas Regency: channel I directly from farmers to wholesalers then to final consumers, and channel II from farmers to collectors then to wholesalers then to final consumers. Channel I marketing efficiency is 0.46% and farmer's share is 97.56%, resulting in a marketing margin of IDR 2,000/kg. At the same time, marketing channel II achieved a marketing margin of Rp. 5,000/Kg, with a farmer's share of 93.90% and a marketing efficiency level of 0.83%. Marketing channel I is more efficient than marketing channel II. The elasticity value of price transmission in channel II is 0.663, which means that every 1% change in consumer prices will cause a change of less than 1% or 0.663% change in producer prices so it is inelastic. On the other hand, the collector level and producer level have an elasticity value of 0.632, meaning that a 1% change at the collector level results in a price change of 0.632% or less than 1% at the producer level (Inelastic). Thus, the influence of consumer prices is greater than collector prices.

Abstract

ABSTRACTWorld tea consumption increased by 3.5% over the last decade. The black tea commodity is projected to grow by 2% in the next decade. Black tea is one of Indonesia's leading export commodities that has a role in fulfilling the world's demand for black tea. The decline in black tea commodity exports can be a threat to the competitiveness of Indonesian black tea. The decrease in the area of tea plantations due to land conversion has led to a decrease in the volume of tea production. The purpose of this study was to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesia's black tea commodity (HS Code: 090240) in export destination markets, namely Rusia, the United States, China, Germany and Australia, and to determine the relationship between RCA and export value and volume using the correlation test. This research uses secondary data obtained through the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Trade Center (ITC). This study uses data for ten years from 2012 to 2022. The analysis method used is Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) analysis and correlation test. The results showed that the RCA value of Indonesian black tea commodities was competitive in the five export destination countries, namely Rusia, the United States, China, Germany and Australia. The RSCA value obtained from the five countries is positive, which means that Indonesian black tea commodities have a comparative advantage in export destination countries. The correlation test shows that the relationship between RCA value and export value and export volume in the United States and Germany is very strong and the relationship is strong in China. However, in Russia and Australia the correlation value is not significant.

Abstract

Maize production in Lenteng Timur Village fluctuates every year with an average decrease of 38%. The decline indicates that there are problems faced by farmers in running their farms. The purpose of this research is to identify risk events and risk sources, and analyze the risks using the House of Risk (HOR) model at the level of hybrid maize farmers in East Lenteng Village. This research was conducted from September - November 2022 with the object of research are hybrid maize farmers in East Lenteng Village. 43 farmers were selected by purposive sampling based on Lemeshow formula. The analysis method used was the House of Risk (HOR). The results of the HOR Phase 1 analysis show that there are 13 Risk Events and 9 risk sources (Risk Agent) which are then prioritized into 5 priority risk sources for further mitigation action. In the HOR Phase 2 analysis, there are 5 mitigation strategies for handling priority risks. These mitigation strategies can be carried out to reduce losses during the hybrid maize production process.

Abstract

The Farmhill is a premium melon producer in Indonesia whose products are spread throughout Indonesia. When compared with the price of other melons, premium melons have a higher price. However, demand, production, and marketing of this melon remain high and even increase. This does not appear to be suitable with the law of demand which states "the higher the price, the less consumer demand". This research aims to describe the characteristics of consumers and determine the factors that influence consumer decisions in purchasing premium melon. The research methods used by researchers are descriptive analysis and factor analysis. Based on the results of this research, show that nine new factors influence the decision to purchase premium melon. However, researchers only took five dominant factors, namely food safety and quality, consumer psychology, product characteristic, consumer needs, and product accessibility. The factor that has the biggest contribution is food safety and quality.
