Abstract

Collaboration and communication skills are needed for students during economics learning. Therefore, this study aims to analyze collaboration and communication skills in problem-based learning in the basic competencies of taxation. The research method used quantitative descriptive research to deal with the research purposes. The results of this research showed that the overall average indicator of students’ collaboration skills was in sufficient category, and the overall average indicator of students’ communication skills was in the high category. In addition, students’ response to learning economics using problem-based learning is good. Almost all students can understand the material in the teaching and learning activities in the basic tax competencies, especially within groups. The recommendation in this study is that teachers need to improve their ability to form creative and innovative learning in problem-based learning. Another recommendation when designing the learning, the suitable learning model is needed to encourage student collaboration and communication.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate an internship programme for preservice teachers. The program evaluation model uses the Kirkpatrick Model which consists of four levels: reaction, learning, behaviour, and outcome. This model is suitable for evaluating internship programmes in reviewing the development of preservice teachers from the initial level to the completion of the internship programme targets. This study involved prospective teachers (n=205) in Economics and Business at the Universitas Negeri Medan. Data were collected online using a Google Forms questionnaire over two months in 2022. Data analysis used quantitative description to explore the programme achievements at each level in depth. The findings showed that the mean of reaction (5.05), learning (5.20), behaviour (4.96), and outcome (5.03) were above the ideal mean of 3.50. Internship programme participants have met the average achievement target of Kirkpatrick's four-level model, where learning evaluation is more meaningful for student teachers when participating in the internship programme compared to other levels. Overall, with this research, it is hoped that internship programme managers can design more targeted and measurable programmes to improve the experience of prospective teachers.  Keywords: internship program, preservice teacher, evaluation, Kirkpatrick four-level

Abstract

This study examines the entrepreneurial intentions and activities of Indonesian university students, drawing insights from the 2018, 2021, and 2023 GUESSS (Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students’ Survey) reports. Using 5,000 students’ quantitative data, this article shows the pattern of student entrepreneurship dynamics, which includes students’ career choice intention, nascent and active entrepreneurship along with the influence of gender, family entrepreneurial background, and the academic environment. This finding shows an increase in students who prefer to become entrepreneurs five years after graduation than when they have just graduated. The study also highlights gender disparities in entrepreneurial career choice intention, with males consistently showing higher intention than females. Further, the study underscores the influence of family entrepreneurial background and university entrepreneurial environment. Students from entrepreneurial families show a stronger intention toward entrepreneurship, while entrepreneurship education and support systems in universities foster a more conducive environment for student entrepreneurship. Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of financial literacy and digital entrepreneurial intentions, as well as investigate the mediating role of entrepreneurship education and the moderating role of social media. This research used primary data obtained from 154 students in Jakarta of Indonesia, through a self-administered survey with online questionnaires. The retrieved data were further analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with Smart-PLS 4.0. The research results indicate that there is a positive and significant influence of financial literacy and entrepreneurship education on digital entrepreneurial intentions among students. In addition, entrepreneurship education has been confirmed to mediate the linkage between financial literacy and digital entrepreneurial intentions. Meanwhile, social media failed in mediating the influence of financial literacy and entrepreneurship education on digital entrepreneurial intentions. This proves that digital literacy is essential for almost every aspect of education, allowing potential entrepreneurs to take advantage of technological developments and offering valuable insights for designing targeted interventions and policies to foster a more robust digital entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Abstract

Tax amnesty public policy is an effort by the Government to collect tax revenues, and at the same time it is expected to be able to make taxpayers compliant. This research is quantitative research with an exploratory approach. This study uses secondary data from the financial statements of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2011 to 2022. The research sample consisted of 144 companies that had met the criteria. The data were analyzed using the SEM-PLS method with the help of WarpPLS 8.0 software. The results show that tax amnesty public policy intervention makes a difference in the amount of corporate tax aggressiveness although statistically insignificant. Tax rates have a significant effect on the amount of tax aggressiveness both before and after the implementation of the tax amnesty while tax complexity, political connection, company age, company size and leverage have insignificant effect. The findings provide implications for the study of micro and macroeconomics. Keywords: tax amnesty, tax aggressiveness, tax rate, economics learning
