Abstract

E-examination has been seen as an alternative to the unmanageable population of pre-service science teachers. This study was conducted to investigate the pre-service science teacher’s perception of e-examination for examining science related courses. To this end it examined the potentials for using pre-service science teacher’s feedback in the validation of assessment. A convenient sample of 120 pre-service sciences teachers from four cohorts in the school of science was selected from the college of education. Descriptive research of the survey type was used. Questionnaires which were tested for reliability using Cronbach alpha which stood at 0.910 were used as data collection instruments. Descriptive statistics of the frequency count and percentages were used to answer the four research questions raised. The major findings from the analysis revealed that high percentage of pre-service science teachers perceives e-examination to be necessity in the production of outstanding science teachers from tertiary institutions. Based on these results, it is recommended that the government should adopt the use of e-examination for evaluation in tertiary institutions in Nigeria and lectures should involve more technologies

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to look at leveraging on adult literacy education for community development in Nigeria. The research examines certain connected literatures on the subject at hand. Based on a thorough assessment of the literature, it was discovered that a person is literary when he has gained the necessary knowledge and abilities to engage in all the activities that require literacy for efficient functioning in his group or community. Furthermore, adults in communities require more than basic literacy knowledge; they also require functional literacy. Global attempts to eradicate poverty, ignorance, and illiteracy, among other things, as outlined in the Millennium Development Goals, would be ineffective unless appropriate initiatives based on the adult population, the pivot of dynamic and sustainable development, are implemented. Adult literacy education programmes are indeed critical tools for transforming Nigerian communities. Without the growth of human potential, the creation of high-rise buildings and other infrastructure in communities will not result in the essential change.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine the linkage between expressed needs of selected employers of secondary school graduates and the secondary school curriculum with the overall aim of examining the relevance of curriculum. Mixed research method was employed. Employers and secondary school textbooks are the major sources of data for the study, with interview and document analysis as tools for data collection, respectively. The findings of the study indicated that the employers perceived time management, teamwork, communication skills, independent work, ability and readiness to learn, and self management are the competencies that are crucial for employees to survive in their organizations. On the other hand, ability to work with others, effective way of communication, appropriate use of work time, self-control, independently solving problems and ability to learn and adapt to work are the skills majority of novice employees faced difficulty to demonstrate. It was also found out that the curricular learning objectives and learning experiences aren’t relevant and sufficient enough to prepare students in those needed work skills and competencies. Thus, it is concluded that the curriculum isn’t relevant enough to equip students with the competencies required in the world of work. Possible implications of these and other findings of the study have been identified. Key words: Competencies, curriculum, secondary education, work skills, world of work

Abstract

The research purpose was to determine the difference of biology learning outcome by implementation of PowerPoint media and Prezi media on students of class X of MAN 2 Model Makassar. The research is quasy experimental research and it used intac group comparison design. The measurement of learning outcome was done by giving valuating test (posttest) in ecosystem matter. Collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistical and inferential statistical analysis. The result of statistic descriptive showed that the average of biology learning outcome of the comparison class was 78.44 and the compared class was 73.05. Analysis of data using a test value t p (Sig. 2-tailed) 0.036 < 0.05 so H0 rejected and H1 accepted. From the research results can be concluded that there are differences in biology learning outcomes by implementation of PowerPoint media and Prezi media on students of class X of MAN 2 Model Makassar.

The method used is the Quasy Experimental Design research method. This study aims to find the effect caused by the treatment or treatment in the form of the use of cooperative learning models in learning mathematics on motivation and learning outcomes. This study's data analysis technique used descriptive statistical and inferential statistical analysis. And statistical calculations, namely normality test and homogeneity test. After that, the hypothesis was tested using the t-test. The results showed that 1) the results of the descriptive analysis were found in the experimental class using the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model with a total score of 1,828 with an average of 79 of 23 students; 2) students' learning motivation uses the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model in learning mathematics with a total score of 2008 with an average of 87 of 23 students; 3) the value of student learning outcomes in the control class is 64 and in the experimental class using the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model is 79. So the difference in these values can be concluded that learning using the Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning model is much better used in the teaching and learning process
