Abstract

This study aimed to develop an Arabic teaching module based on the Merdeka curriculum for grade IV of Asasalam Islamic Elementary School Bandar Lampung and to analyze educators’ and students’ responses to the teaching module. A teaching module is an important part of learning implementation. Moreover, the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum must also be harmonized with the existence of teaching module. However, Assalam Islamic Elementary School in Bandar Lampung, which has implemented the Merdeka curriculum, does not yet have a teaching module / teaching materials based on the Merdeka curriculum. The type of research employed in this study was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. Data collection involved conducting interviews with Arabic language subject teachers at Assalam Islamic Elementary School. The instruments utilized in this development included student questionnaires and product validation instruments. Data analysis techniques encompassed qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive methods. Qualitative descriptive analysis was utilized to process data from the review of material experts, media experts, and field practitioners' responses, including teachers and students. Quantitative descriptive analysis was derived from the results of product feasibility, represented in the form of product practicality. The validation results from media experts yielded an average value of 86%, while those from material experts showed an average value of 93%, categorized as very feasible. Furthermore, the average response from educators was 93%, falling into the attractive category. The responses from students in small group trials averaged 91%, whereas in field trials, the average was 83%. Based on the findings of this study, it is evident that the teaching module is highly engaging for use in the learning process. This research contributes to the development of Arabic teaching module based on the Merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1) to describe the fact of inequality of Arabic subjects in the curriculum as a compulsory subject at the upper secondary education level, 2) to determine the inequality factors of Arabic subjects in the general education curriculum, and 3) to determine the implications of inequality in Arabic as the main subject. Graduates of general education who proceed to Islamic religious universities often encounter challenges in mastering Arabic. This may occur due to the absence of Arabic language subjects during their high school years, compounded by Arabic not being a mandatory component of the general education curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research method. Data collection techniques include literature studies, and data analysis used are content analysis. The findings indicate that Arabic is not designated as a core subject in the national education curriculum for secondary education, highlighting the unequal treatment of Arabic within the Indonesian education system. This disparity's repercussion is evident in the challenges encountered by high school graduates when pursuing Arabic studies at Islamic Religious Colleges, stemming from struggles in grasping the fundamentals of the Arabic language. Arabic language learning in general education is only an elective subject in private schools affiliated with religious organizations. This results in students facing challenges in acquiring knowledge in Arabic and grappling with the complexities of learning Islam, particularly for Muslim students.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop web-based learning materials using Google Sites for the Arabic Education Program at UIN KHAS Jember. The necessity of embracing digital transformation in the age of Industry 4.0, driven by rapid advancements in science and technology, is evident. In education, adapting multimedia learning to technological progress is crucial. Google Sites, as an innovative multimedia learning platform in the digital age, utilizes advanced educational technology via internet networks. Challenges and students' low enthusiasm in Tarjamah Fauriyah Indunisiyah Arabiyah course contribute to a decline in literal competence. Consequently, the anticipation revolves around the integration of multimedia learning through web-based platforms with Google Sites will improve both the literal competence in Tarjamah Fauriyah Indunisiyah Arabiyah course and students' enthusiasm for learning. In this research, an assessment was carried out to validate the effectiveness and quality of educational materials and web-based learning media utilizing Google Site within the Tarjamah Fauriyah Indunisiyah Arabiyah course at the Arabic Language Education Department Program at UIN KHAS Jember. This research was classified as developmental research, utilizing the ADDIE model, which comprised five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The techniques employed for gathering data encompassed observation, surveys, and assessments. The results indicated high validation scores, with the first media expert rating the content as "very good" (92%) and the second material expert also rating it as "very good" (94%). The effectiveness of the multimedia was assessed through the evaluation of students' vocabulary translation competence. This was computed using the N-Gain test, revealing that the experimental group achieved an effectiveness level of 76.3448%, classified as "effective." In contrast, the control group had a lower effectiveness level of 42.9145%, categorized as "less effective." In conclusion, considering the collected data, it was found that utilizing Google Sites for web-based multimedia learning proved to be fitting and effective for Tarjamah Fauriyah Indunisiyah Arabiyah course instructional activities.

Abstract

The study aimed to explore the application of the NHT strategy in optimizing the learning of Arabic text listening skills and to describe students' responses to its use. A lack of practice in listening results in difficulties in interacting. These difficulties are also caused by students' lack of motivation and interest, as well as a lack of vocabulary and limited understanding of sentence structure. Therefore, an alternative is needed to minimize the problem. The strategy is called Numbered Head Together (NHT). This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Questionnaire data was analysed using SPSS 25. The results of the study elucidated six steps in the application of the NHT strategy: a) material preparation; b) numbering, where the teacher formed groups and assigned each group member a number from 1-5; c) listening to the text, where students were asked to listen to the text either using audio-visuals or directly from the teacher; d) asking questions, where each question given by the teacher had an identification number; e) discussion process, where students were asked to discuss the given questions; f) submission of discussion results, where students with numbers matching the question number had the responsibility to answer the question. Students' responses to the NHT strategy, measured by indicators such as interest, involvement, and perceived impact, obtained a score of 1,505 out of a maximum of 1,725, with a percentage of 87.24% (very satisfying). This research provides practical implications for improving students' learning motivation and response. Its contributions include a better understanding of the effectiveness of this strategy and providing empirical evidence for teachers to develop more effective learning strategies.

Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate and determine the accuracy of the automatic correction system for Arabic texts. The focus of this research was the autocorrection system found in the Sahehly application, with analysis conducted on the harakat, tarakib, and grammatical aspects of the Arabic language. Accuracy is a very important part of an application system because accuracy can influence correct results and reduce the occurrence of errors. This study examined the review of the autocorrect system in the Sahehly application. The sample text used was the book of Fathul Qorib in the chapter of law and witnesses. The method used in this research was descriptive analysis with text study research design. From the results of the analysis, 3 words were found to be corrected with the application of Sahehly on grammatical aspects. However, when reviewed, the results of the Sahehly correction were less precise, and no changes needed to be made because they were correct. Then, the researchers found inaccuracies in 22 words that were given harakat by the Sahehly application. Thus, the presence of Sahehly is one of the developments of artificial intelligence (AI) in Arabic to provide harakat, but it is not fully perfect. Therefore, the use of Sahehly should be re-examined by referring to the knowledge that has been learned and referring to the available Arabic dictionaries and books.
