Al-Tadib: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu Kependidikan is a forum publishing original articles related to research-based education or Islamic education. It is published by Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kendari (Faculty of Education and Teaching, IAIN Kendari). This journal is for professionals, academics, researchers, and scholars whose empirical work focuses on curriculum, teaching methodology, learning activity, teaching media, learning approaches, learning achievement, character education, evaluation in education and the relationship between Islam and education. Authors are welcomed to submit their manuscripts for publication. Al-Tadib: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu Kependidikan publishes articles on education in any area of study twice a year, every June and December. This journal charges no fees for publication.

This case study research aims to explore the psychological impact of online learning on teachers, students, and parents through observation and interviews with teachers, students and parents in elementary schools. The findings of the study reveal that online learning impacted teachers because they worked beyond the allotted time, they could not recognize students well, they had difficulty in monitoring students’ learning processes, and they found it difficult to determine student learning outcomes. The students’ discipline level lessened because the school hours are different from before the pandemic and their learning motivation decreased. As for the parents, online learning added to the burden in terms of costs, time and thoughts.Keywords: Online learning; pandemic period; psychological impact

This study aims to describe the role of the student organization in one of the Islamic boarding schools in North Sumatera in fostering the spirit of learning. Using a phenomenological approach, the data was gathered through direct observation of students’ activities and triangulated by the interviews with research informants. The findings of this study revealed the role of the student organization in the mudzakarah activities in terms of nahwu-sharaf, which occur on a daily basis in the morning and evening. The student organization’s existence is measured through achievements in the evaluation of formal education and the dominance in scientific mutsabaqoh activities carried out by pesantren leaders on a yearly basis.Keywords: mudzakarah; nahwu-sharaf; pesantren; student organization

This study is intended to investigate the students’ engagement on teacher’s focused written corrective feedback (FWCF) on their writing in online asynchronous platform. Data gathered from students’ written drafts and reflective journal were analyzed using Ferris’ (2012) FWCF framework as well as sociocultural and activity framework in the online instructional setting. The findings of the study indicate that the students’ cognitive, behavioral, and affective engagement in online asynchronous platform with FWCF portray their learning beliefs as they are exposed to written feedback. Students engagement with online FWCF reveal that such online platform feedback helps students check their progress without time and place boundary. Such feedback also facilitates them to do self-revision because the feedback raises their awareness of their mistakes leading them into more autonomous learners. Moreover, the online platform is considered to be effective due to its mobility. Students’ only complaint is when they are encountered with limited data usage and network around campus.Keywords:Asynchronous; EFL writing; online platform; focused written corrective feedback

This study aims to reveal the motivation to learn Arabic for the banking sector through multimedia-based contextual learning using qualitative methods. Data were garnered using observation, interviews, and documents. The results of data analysis show that contextual learning can motivate students to learn and play an active role in formulating the contextual conversation according to the theme given to each group. The students' attention was focused on searching vocabulary, asking questions, and completing the script in the allotted time. They were diligent, tenacious and enthusiastic in role playing the conversational texts and practicing speaking and acting using Arabic for banking conversation scripts.Keywords: Arabic for banking; contextual teaching and learning; multimedia

The purpose of this research is to strengthen the management of rumah jurnal and the ability to manage scientific periodicals in managing e-journals in the scope of higher education, the availability of human resources in the field of sustainable e-journal management, the availability of articles ready for publishing in journals, which in ultimately leads the quality of e-journal publications meeting the standards of accreditation. Through an empowerment and development program, this research shows that there are several strategies carried out by rumah jurnal managers to empower the management capacity, i.e. improving the management of open journal system (OJS), increasing the capacity of e-journal managers, providing articles ready to be published, strengthening and improving the full circulation of OJS in the journal publishing process, and improving the journal so that it is ready for accreditation process.Keywords: Accreditation; empowerment; higher education; publication; rumah jurnal

This descriptive qualitative research aims to determine the professional competence of Islamic religious education teachers and the implications of certification in improving their professionalism. Data was collected through observation and interviews using snowball and purposive sampling. The results of qualitative data analysis indicate that Islamic religious education teachers have implemented materials, structures, concepts and some relevant knowledge related to Islamic education in schools. They also possess the competence in designing and applying knowledge in the context of learning and mastering basic competencies based on their knowledge for curriculum development. Teachers have social, professional, pedagogical and digital literacy competencies for everyday learning. The objectives of this development research are to produce video media for learning biology material for Covid-19 and synthesize the results of the validation of the Covid-19 biology learning video media as an alternative to increase students' basic competencies. The subject of this research is the biology teachers of class X at Kota Kendari. The results of the research shows that learning video media production went through seven stages, i.e., 1) analysis of potential and problems related to infrastructure at the research location; 2) data collection of scientific articles and modules; 3) product design; 4) validation of material designs by experts; 5) design improvements with consideration of advice from experts; 6) media product trial by teachers; and, 7) revision of media products with consideration from the teachers. The results of the validation of the learning video media are categorized as feasible. Therefore, the learning video media was potential to be developed as alternative media to foster the students’ basic competence of viral material.Keywords: Alternative media; basic competence; biology; Covid-19; learning video media.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi upaya salah satu perguruan tinggi Islam di Sulawesi Tenggara dalam membangun kesadaran antikorupsi di kalangan mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) serta menggali persepsi mereka terhadap upaya kampus dalam meningkatkan pendidikan antikorupsi. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan dokumentasi dan wawancara yang dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya program studi PAI dalam membangun kesadaran antikorupsi di kalangan mahasiswa telah dilaksanakan dan dalam tahap pengembangan. Upaya dosen pembina mata kuliah dalam membangun kesadaran antikorupsi dilakukan melalui active learning dan diskusi kelompok dengan mengangkat isu tentang antikorupsi yang sedang ramai diperbincangkan sehingga mahasiswa mampu menganalisis dan menemukan nilai-nilai perilaku antikorupsi yang dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. This qualitative research aims to educate and provide information to the public about the role of educational institutions in environmental care. This can be achieved by influencing people’s behavior to engage in environmental management through education in the school environment. Schools can implement programs or rules that teach students about environmental management and ensure that each student carries out and obeys the rules positively and responsibly. This research was conducted in SMAN 4 Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. This school is one of the schools with an environmental vision that has been established based on government decisions. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that school policy in maintaining the ethical values of environmental care is done through strengthening school rules to ensure that each student is involved in managing the school environment, managing school facilities and services oriented towards environmental management, and strengthening and assisting students’ extracurricular programs in environmental management. With the approach undertaken by the school, it is expected to realize a healthy and comfortable environment and become a model in creating an eco-friendly environment school. This classroom action research aims to examine the portraits of early reading learning, the application of early reading learning by using PowerPoint animation media, and the use of this media in improving students' early reading skills at one of elementary school at Wawonii Tenggara, Southeast Sulawesi. The results of qualitative analysis showed that the form of learning to early reading at the school was conducted in a simple way i.e. by writing letters of the alphabet on the blackboard and pronouncing the letters aloud together. The activities of teachers and students in learning have shown a good increase from cycle to cycle. Teachers find it easier to manage classes, direct students, and focus students on learning, meanwhile students seem more confident to ask questions and make presentations in front of the class. The use of PowerPoint animated image media has been proven to be able to help students improve their beginning reading skills.Keywords: Beginning reading; powerpoint animation media; elementary school
