Abstract

The high water absorption of concrete causes the concrete to easily experience cracking and damage. One way to increase the durability of concrete is by adding microbes which can fill the micro cavities in the concrete with the resulting Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) deposits. However, the weakness of using microorganisms is that they are unable to withstand high hydration heat. Therefore, by varying the temperature in this research, it is possible to determine the effect of the metabolism of the bacteria produced. This research was carried out to avoid damage by creating a hydrophobic and self-healing layer which helps increase the durability and strength of the concrete. The concrete sample made resembles a cube measuring 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm. The manufacturing materials are Portland cement, Otawa sand, distilled water and a mixture of E. coli bacteria. Heating was carried out using an oven at temperatures of 30, 60, 90, and 120 oC. Characterization testing was carried out using a Cpmreson machine, XRD and contact angle testing.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the improvement of science process skills of students whose learning process uses a STEM-integrated guided inquiry learning model on human respiratory system material. The research method used was quasi experimental. The population in this study were all VIII science classes of State Junior High School totaling 175 students. The samples used were two classes taken with cluster random sampling technique. The normality value in the experimental class is 0.424 > 0.05 which is in the normal category, while the control class normality value is 0.120 > 0.05 which is in the normal category, The average N-Gain value in the experimental class is 0.60 and the average N-Gain value in the control class is 0.52, both N-Gain values are included in the medium category, the results of the independent t test 0.003 < 0.05 (α-0.05) which means that there is a significant difference between the science process skills of students in the experimental class and the control class. Based on the results of this study after applying the STEM-integrated guided inquiry model there is an increase in the science process skills of students in the experimental class on the human respiratory system.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major nutritional problem in developing countries, including Indonesia. This research aims to identify the effectiveness of stunting prevention programs in Indonesia. The research method employed in this study is a systematic review based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Article searches were conducted using five database; Scopus, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Google Scholar, and Portal Garuda. The inclusion criteria for this research are articles published in the last 10 years, from 2014 to 2023, with a population in the Indonesian region. Based on the reviewed articles, it was found that the most effective stunting prevention measures include providing nutritional education to influential parties such as community health workers, mothers of toddler, and women of childbearing age or prospective mothers, interprofessional collaboration, and supplementary feeding. Trained community health workers are capable of reducing the stunting rates. Therefore the goverment should stengthen community health worker training to optimize stunting prevention through nutritional education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the learning styles of grade 7 students at SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year in East Oku Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this research were all 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year in East Oku Regency, South Sumatra Province. The data collection technique used in this research is in the form of a questionnaire which will be filled out by research subjects. Then the data will be analyzed quantitatively by calculating the percentage that refers to the three VAK learning styles (Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic). The results of the learning style analysis of all 7th grade students at SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year showed that there were 40% Visual learning styles, 23% Auditory learning styles, 31% Kinesthetic learning styles, 2% Visual Kinesthetic learning styles, 1% auditory visual learning is as much as 1% of the auditory kinesthetic learning style and 2% of the visual auditory kinesthetic learning style. From this research, it was concluded that the learning style of students in Class 7 of SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year was dominated by the visual learning style at 40% of the total class of students. These differences in student learning style tendencies can be accommodated by conducting differentiated learning so that it can meet student needs and student characteristics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze how much influence the use of a problem-based learning model on the ability of science literacy learners in Learning Natural Sciences class III Makassar State Elementary School. This study uses the experimental method, and the form of research is a quasi-experiment. With the design of posttest only control design, and sampling techniques using purposive sampling. Based on the results of data analysis, the average post-test in the experimental class was 33.82 while in the control class was 23.18. Hypothesis test results using T-test with Mann Withney formula, obtained by Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) 0.014. The value of asymptotic significance in the calculation of the t-test is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, thus the HA is accepted, so that from the test results there is a significant influence between the results of scientific literacy students who use problem-based learning model.

Abstract

Introduction stunting was a failure to achieve optimal growth caused by condition of malnutrition in a long time. Toddlers grow short and low child intelligence levels result in a burden on the dating time. Due to the limited working capacity, reduction of body activity and complication of content in women because it has a small pelvic size and the risk of giving birth to infants with low birth weight. Know effectiveness of education by stunting cadres on the behavior of toddler mothers prevents stunting, and analyzing factors of stunting event in infants under the five years Methods experimental quasi design. Research respondents are toddler mothers with toddlers of 80. bivariate, with different tests (t–test). multivariate, with multiple logistics regression. Result the average difference in the behavior of the toddler mothers before and after education was 0.55. This increase in the average behavior of p≤ 0.001 < α (0.05). The most influential factor in the nutritional status of toddlers (stunting) with the value B = 3.562 and p≤ 0.001. Conclusion Education able to improve behavior mothers toddlers to prevent stunting. The most influential factor in the stunting event mothers toddlers was the education

Abstract

The 21’st century learning should be able to build students’ abilities comprehensively. Students are expected to have 21’st century learning skills known as 4C skills, namely critical thingking, creative thingking, collaboration and communication. Meaningful learning is needed to improve students’ 21st century skills, such as integrated physics learning with ethnoscience. Ethnoscience related to local cultural concepts integrated into e-module can be used as a learning resource. The purpose of this study is to describe the results of the preliminary research and development stages of the physic e-module integrated with PBL model and ethnoscience to improve students’ 21 Century skills. This study is a research and development (R&D) type and the Plomp model. The instruments used were teacher and student interview sheets, self-evaluation sheets, validity and practicality questionnaires. Based on data analysis, the results of validity testing in the valid category with an average value 0.94. Then, the results of practicality testing in the very practical category with an average value 90.09. It can be concluded, the physics e-module integrated with PBL model and ethnoscience to improve students' 21st century skills is valid and practical for use in the learning process.

Abstract

21st century learning emphasizes the importance of students' critical thinking skills and mastery of information technology. One use of technology in the learning process is through interactive learning media such as e-modules. Using e-modules can facilitate the development of critical thinking skills in students. One platform that can be used to create e-modules is Google Sites. This research aims to determine student perceptions of the effectiveness of Google Sites-based e-modules to facilitate students' critical thinking skills. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques using a Likert scale questionnaire. The analysis results show that the assessment of the usefulness or students' perception of the e-module reached 85.48, including the very high sort. Apart from that, the analysis regarding the influence of e-modules on changes in knowledge and skills earned a score of 81.45, including the high kind. Based on the analysis of student perceptions, a positive response was found towards using e-modules, which indicates that the e-modules used are effective. Therefore, e-modules can be an effective learning medium in increasing understanding and facilitating students' critical thinking skills.
