Abstract

Private timber distribution in Ciamis faces efficiency challenges due to high operational costs, limited spatial information, and middleman dominance in the supply chain. This study aims to (1) identify timber trade institutions, (2) determine spatially optimal distribution routes, and (3) design an efficient distribution model. Methods include institutional surveys, slope- and elevation-based spatial analysis, and Linear Programming optimization via Excel Solver. Results show that optimal routes combine high safety percentages (88.27% recommended routes) with minimal transportation costs. The optimization model increased profit by IDR 32.17 million/month while reducing operational costs by 1.45%. This integrated spatial-optimization approach enhances logistical efficiency and supports sustainable private forest management.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and test the feasibility of a student worksheet (LKPD) on bacterial cultivation and observation from a Natural Science textbook for grade X senior high school as a means to foster deep learning in the context of the deep learning. Using the Vee Diagram approach, the analysis shows that the LKPD contains several fundamental shortcomings—particularly in its unclear learning objectives, unsystematic procedures, and minimal space for reflection and data transformation. Through a self-conducted practicum trial, these identified weaknesses were indeed reflected in field implementation. Although the practicum was conducted, it faced issues such as overly dense colony growth, contamination, and inappropriate inoculation techniques, which led to suboptimal observations. This confirms that the structure and instructions in an LKPD significantly influence the success of experimental learning. Nonetheless, the activity revealed potential for further development. The practicum offers students the opportunity to experience scientific processes firsthand and understand the connection between biological concepts and real-life phenomena. With improved structure and approach, the LKPD can serve as an effective tool to support deep learning.

Abstract

Lime peel contains saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and essential oils that have antibacterial activity. This study aims to explain the relationship between the use of lime peel as a traditional medicine and its bioactivity. Antibacterial activity testing used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) spray method. The concentrations of lime peel extract used were 12.5, 25, 37.5, and 50%. The positive control used ciprofloxacin and the negative control was 10% DMSO. The results obtained were analyzed by Quasi-Experimental test. The use of plants as traditional medicine is related to their bioactivity and secondary metabolite content. Various researchers have successfully proven the bioactivity of lime peel, namely anticholesterol, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antihypertensive, antiosteoporosis, and anticancer. The concentration and length of contact time are directly proportional to the inhibitory power of CA water against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The bioactivity of CA extract as an antimicrobial is influenced by various factors, including the type of microbe, concentration, and contact time. This new study shows that lime peel has the benefit of killing harmful bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, which causes diarrhea. The vitamin C and antioxidants in lime peel are believed to be able to ward off these bacteria.

Abstract

The problems of this research are results of observations at SMP Negeri Air Satan, it shows that science learning in schools has not been implemented in an integrated manner. One of the causes of the non-implementation of science learning is that science teachers, especially the material of effort and energy in junior high school, are not ready because there is no science teaching material on effort and energy. This research aims to 1) Design a module of Effort and Energy based on Problem Based Learning 2) Measure the feasibility of science modules based on Problem Based Learning in terms of validity, practicality and effectiveness. The method used is a research and development approach which is usually known as the R&D research method. The development design used is the 4D model development design. The results showed that the average of the analysis of the three validators, namely material, media and language experts, scored 26 in the good category. Analysis of student practicality in limited group trials obtained a score of 77% meeting practical criteria. The results of the calculation of the student practicality questionnaire in the large group trial obtained a score of 87.36%, meeting the criteria for being very practical. The increase in student learning outcomes was 0.61 with a moderate category.

Abstract

Experiential Learning (EL) is one of the 21st century learning models that provides students with more real and applicable learning experiences. Although EL has been widely used in various learning, there is still no comprehensive synthesis of how EL can be effectively implemented in various learning contexts to achieve various learning outcomes. This research aims to identify and synthesise the effectiveness of EL in improving and developing various learning outcomes. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analysing search results from the Scopus, Erics, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases, in the last 10 years (2025-2015). Based on the search results, 16 suitable articles were obtained based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of the analysis of this article review can be drawn conclusions and findings that EL has a good impact on improving various learning outcomes, such as improving academic achievement, critical thinking skills, higher order thinking skills, collaboration, learning motivation, self-learning readiness, activeness, pedagogical skills, and problem-solving skills both at the elementary, junior high school, high school/vocational school and university levels. This research provides a comprehensive synthesis of the effectiveness of EL in improving and developing various learning outcomes.

Abstract

The problem in learning science at SMP N Air Satan is the low involvement of students actively due to the use of conventional methods and limited learning resources. This study aims to develop a contextual-based science module that is valid, practical, and effective to improve students' concept understanding. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), but limited to the first three stages. Data were collected through validation questionnaires (by material, language, and media experts), student practicality questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed quantitatively descriptively to measure the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the product. The validation results showed that the module was in the “valid” category, with a material expert validation score of 45, media expert 43, and linguist 27. Student responses to the practicality of the module reached 80.69% (“practical” category), and student learning outcomes showed learning completeness of 77.26%, exceeding the KKM 72. Thus, the contextual-based science module developed has proven to be valid, practical, and effective for use in the science learning process in junior high school.

Abstract

Education plays a critical role in shaping the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development of students. In the 21st century, students are expected not only to acquire knowledge but also to develop the ability to think critically, solve problems, and apply concepts in real-life situations. For this reason, this study aims to determine the effect of applying the problem-based learning model assisted by mind mapping on student learning outcomes in ecosystem lesson. This research employed a quasi-experimental approach using the Pretest-Posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, involving both control and experimental classes. The study population included all tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Biau. Through purposive sampling, four classes were selected, totaling 121 students. Learning outcomes data were collected using a test instrument comprising 30 multiple-choice questions. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney statistical test at a significance level of 0.05. The analysis results revealed that the use of the problem-based learning model combined with mind mapping had a statistically significant impact on student learning outcomes, with a p-value less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the integration of mind mapping within the problem-based learning model has a positive influence on learning achievement. These findings suggest that this instructional approach is effective and can be implemented in lessons focused on ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the indigenous people of Seram Island and several species of animals that are utilized for socio-cultural purposes and how the practice of ethnozoology can contribute to sustainable conservation efforts. The research was conducted using an ethnographic approach through in-depth interviews with purposively selected respondents. Qualitative descriptive analysis was conducted systematically based on themes that bind the types of animals studied. The results showed that the practice of ethnozoology includes utilization for ritual purposes related to local community belief values. Some animal species that are utilized for special purposes include Cuscuses (Phalanger spp.) and wild boar (Sus scrofa) which are useful for traditional ceremonies. The animals are killed and the meat is divided to be eaten during the ceremony. Gosong Bird (Eulipoa wallacei) as a Season Marker helps the community in managing agricultural land, marked by the presence or absence of these animals at certain locations. Deer (Rusa timorensis) as a Source of Food and Social Status by utilizing its meat. Cassowary (Casuarius spp.) as a symbol of strength. Hornbill (Rhyticeros plicatus) as a symbol of longevity. These animals are utilized by indigenous people not only for traditional rituals but also for animal protein needs such as cuscuses, Wild Boar and Deer. The needs of the indigenous community for the aforementioned animals have encouraged the community to maintain and preserve them based on their local wisdom such as the application of Sasi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance and integration of contextual chemistry content, particularly focusing on redox reactions in the context of corrosion in automotive chassis maintenance, into the vocational education curriculum of Light Vehicle Engineering (Teknik Kendaraan Ringan Otomotif/TKRO) programs. Utilizing the Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) method, this research examines curriculum documents, IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) modules, and interviews with both science and vocational teachers to identify gaps between chemistry teaching and vocational practices. The results reveal that essential chemical concepts such as oxidation-reduction reactions, electrochemistry, and corrosion science are currently absent or underrepresented in the general science curriculum. These omissions hinder students’ understanding of crucial maintenance procedures related to metal degradation, material selection, and protective treatments. The study proposes a contextualized chemistry material outline to bridge this gap, enabling vocational students to apply scientific principles effectively in real-world automotive settings. Findings from this study advocate for the incorporation of redox and electrochemical content in vocational science education to enhance both conceptual understanding and technical competency.

Abstract

Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light has negative effects on skin health, including decreased melatonin levels and increased skin cell damage. This study investigated the effects of Moringa oleifera (MO) leaf extract on melatonin levels and skin damage induced by UVB light in male Sprague Dawley rats. Utilizing a post-randomized controlled group design, 28 rats were allocated into four groups: a control group without treatment and a treatment group subjected to UVB exposure alongside MO extract at doses of 300 mg/kg and 600 mg/kg. Melatonin levels were quantitatively assessed via spectrophotometry, while histopathological analysis was employed to evaluate skin damage. Results indicated that rats receiving the 600 mg/kg MO extract exhibited the highest melatonin levels, contrasting sharply with the group exposed solely to UVB radiation, which showed significantly reduced melatonin. Histological examination revealed a marked decrease in sunburn cell lesions in the MO extract-treated group compared to the control group lacking treatment. In conclusion, Moringa oleifera leaf extract appears to enhance melatonin production and mitigate UV-induced skin damage, suggesting its potential as a protective agent in dermatological practices. These findings warrant further exploration into the application of MO extract in developing preventive therapies against UV-related skin damage.
